Details on Million Dollar Mania

The Associated Press published a story today that included new details regarding Vince McMahon's "Million Dollar Mania" giveaway. Here are the details:

- The promotion begins next week on WWE RAW (June 9).

- For a chance to win a part (but not all) of the $1 million, viewers must pre-register on WWE.com and then watch the beginning of WWE RAW each week to receive a special code, which viewers must tell McMahon if he calls them during the live broadcast.

- The code will change each week of the promotion and will not be revealed until the beginning of each episode.

- The cash will be given away as part of a "lengthy promotional sweepstakes", McMahon and the WWE told The Associated Press. "People can view this as my own version of an economic stimulus plan to benefit our viewers."

WWE Rumors, News: Women's Title, The Undertaker Profile

On the heels of last night's One Night Stand, here are a couple pieces of WWE news and notes:

  • There has been talk of moving the WWE Women's Title to either ECW or SmackDown, though no official decision has been made just yet. Vince McMahon feels that both of those brands need something to distinguish them from what WWE Raw offers.
  • WWE has removed the profile of The Undertaker from the SmackDown roster page. Looks like the company is doing the best job it can to sell the notion that he's truly banished.

Randy Orton Injury Update: Broken Collarbone

During his match with Triple H at last night's One Night Stand pay-per-view, Randy Orton took a bad fall after being thrown over the top rope. During the broadcast you could hear Orton tell the referee about his injury.

After the match, Orton was immediately taken into a room backstage to be examined. He was then sent to the San Diego Medical hospital to determine the severity of the injury.

Orton was diagnosed with a broken left collarbone. It's unclear how long he'll be out, but don't expect Orton to be wrestling, at least, for a couple months.

WWE Results: One Night Stands, 6-1-08

Here's what went down on last night's WWE pay-per-view, One Night Stand...

Jeff Hardy defeated Umaga in a falls count anywhere match. They fought their way up a flight of stairs. Jeff Hardy went to the top and slid down the railing before diving onto Umaga in a great spot. Later, the pair fought their way outside the building and climbed onto 18-wheeler. Umaga followed and was booted off by Jeff, who followed up with a Swanton for the win.

Big Show defeated C.M. Punk and Chavo Guerrero (w/Bam Neely) and John Morrison (w/The Miz) and Tommy Dreamer in a Singapore Cane match. Big Show picked up the ringside steps to use them as a weapon, Morrison cut his legs out from under him and Show dropped the steps on his own head. Show was bleeding when he stood up.

Show was especially tough on Dreamer. He beat him with cane shots and then stood over him with one leg on top of Dreamer while making the pin. Are you excited for a Big Show vs. Kane feud?

John Cena beat JBL in a First Blood match. They brawled to ringside early and JBL struck John Cena with a mic, but no blood. Later, JBL rammed Cena head-first into the ring post. JBL picked up the ring steps and threw them toward Cena and missed. The announcers were quick to point out that the steps caused Show to bleed. Nice call.

Later, JBL rammed Cena into an exposed turnbuckle. Still no blood. JBL pulled out a chain, but Cena fought him off and hit the FU. Maybe he was hoping for internal bleeding. Cena got caught in the ropes and JBL pulled out a freaking bullwhip. No, really. He walked toward Cena, who kicked him in the gut. Cena broke free and locked in the STFU with a chain wrapped around JBL's neck. JBL bled from the mouth immediately and the ref called for the bell.

Beth Phoenix beat Melina in an "I Quit" match. Jim Ross noted that this was the first time there has been an "I Quit" match involving WWE Divas. Beth dominated the opening minutes of the match and then they took turn applying submission holds. Melina caught Beth in an arm bar. Beth sold the move for a while and then picked up Melina and tossed her across the ring. In the end, Beth locked Melina in the reverse cowgirl position until she gave up.

Batista beat Shawn Michaels in a stretcher match. Batista went Goldberg on everyone by spearing HBK and then doing the Goldberg followup jump and pose. Batista placed HBK on a stretcher. Jim Ross Comments on Upcoming Draft Lottery

In his latest blog entry, Jim Ross commented on the event that officials hope will help WWE RAW with its faltering ratings: the draft lottery.

Here's what he had to say:

It will be a big night in San Antonio on June 23 as the, apparent, Annual WWE Draft will be held during a three hour Monday Night Raw. I am interested in how the order of the draft will be determined and the process that will be utilized to make the selections.

I read where the TV announcers are also eligible for the draft, which is perplexing. I can’t speak for the King, but I am personally not interested in leaving Monday Night Raw. I hope that I didn’t just jinx myself. Working regularly on another broadcast would feel strange at this stage of my game.

Write in and let us know which wrestlers you hope to see switch brands and what you hope takes place at the draft lottery.

Memorial Day RAW Rating: Weak

This past week's Memorial Day edition of WWE RAW drew just a 2.9 cable rating. Oddly enough, it would be hard for the company to blame the holiday for the low number.

In three out of the last five years, the WWE RAW rating actually roseon Memorial Day from the previous week's show. It's a good thing a roster shake up is coming in the form of a draft; the show need some sort of boost.

Scott Steiner Slams Triple H, Shawn Michaels

Kevin Eck of The Baltimore Sun has conducted another interview with TNA Wrestling star Scott Steiner this week. The muscle-bound freak didn't speak too kindly about Triple H or Shawn Michaels.

Steiner on Triple H: Look at Triple H’s career before he started (having sex with) the boss’ daughter: He lost to Ultimate Warrior in 30 seconds; he was losing to guys like Alex Wright in WCW; he lost to one of the Godwins in a pig slop match. And then all of a sudden he’s [having sex with] the boss’ daughter and he’s the toughest guy in the world. I’m not the only guy who thinks that.

Steiner on HBK: Shawn Michaels is one of those wise-cracking guys who would say a smart comment to you, but then if you face him, he would run and cry somewhere. That’s exactly what happened one time when he was cutting down the Harris Brothers " I think it was Don Harris.

Finally, he had enough. He waited until Shawn Michaels got in the room, kicked everybody out of the room, shut the door, grabbed him by the neck and was going to pound the [heck] out of him. A tear came down his eye. He turned around, started laughing and walked out. That is Shawn Michaels in a nutshell.

What do you think of Scott Steiner's comments?

WWE Results: ECW, 5-27-08

Our thanks to PWTorch.com, here are last night's ECW results...

The Big Show vs. Tommy Dreamer

The Big Show Show dominated the first two minutes until Dreamer took out the knee with a dropkick. Dreamer tried a move from the second rope, but Show smashed him in mid-air with a double axehandle to the face. Show then finished him off with a big chokeslam for the pin and the win.

Winner: Big Show

Ringside: Shelton Benjamin was with Adamle and Tazz to discuss his one-on-one victory over Kofi last week. They showed clips of Shelton's match and then Kofi Kingston came to the ring, prompting a "Jamaican me crazy" line from Adamle. How original.

Mike Knox vs. Kofi Kingston
Kofi jumped around the ring to start things off, but Knox quickly grounded him with power offense. Kofi fought back with a series of kicks, then he nailed a forearm smash that busted open Knox hard-way around the left eye. Knox missed with a corner splash and took a back soccer kick to the face, then Kofi nailed the Jamaican buzzsaw kick to the head for the win.

Post-match: Shelton tried to jump Kofi, but Kofi fought back. They had a brawl in the ring with Kofi on the advantage until Knox clotheslined Kofi from behind and nailed the Knox Out corkscrew facebuster to silence Kingston

CM Punk vs. Chavo Guerrero
Punk teased the G2S in the opening seconds, which sent Chavo to the floor to regroup. Punk much more charismatic tonight to start things off. Certainly helps that he can get a little shine in the opening minutes rather than instantly taking a beating in a match. Chavo then cut off Punk and slapped on a chinlock. They suddenly cut to break.
