WWE Rumors and News: Hardy Boyz, Lita, RVD

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports ...

  • Right now, there are no definite plans for the futures of the Hardys or MNM. Vince McMahon has changed his mind a few times on what to do with them.
  • WWE confiscated several fan signs reading “Thank You Lita” and other things of that nature at Survivor Series.
  • Rob Van Dam has been expressing interest in leaving WWE for TNA and the indies when his contract expires in a few months. He was openly talking about it with people last weekend, asking if they thought it was a good idea.

WWE Rumors: Monty Brown to Debut Tonight?

Various sources backstage at tonight's RAW/ECW tapings have confirmed that Monty Brown is in the house.

The former TNA Wrestling star could just be visiting - or he could be making his debut on one of those brands. Tune in and find out! (RAW will be live, as always; while ECW on Sci-Fi will be taped afterward and air tomorrow evening.)

WWE Rumors: Sabu on Way Out?

Sabu According to PWinsider.com, the feeling backstage is that Sabu is lucky to have a job with WWE right now after several incidents that left management furious.

Sabu was initially punished by being squashed by Umaga on TV. He had shown up late to several shows and actually fell asleep backstage in the pre-production area.

Then, after the ECW tapings last week he was supposed to film some promotional stuff for the December To Dismember PPV, but he blew it off. Apparently, he was out of the building long before the end of the show.

Right now, unless he can turn things around, all indications point to Sabu being released by WWE some time in the near future.

TNA/WWE Rumors: Where is Chris Jericho Headed?

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, TNA wrestling management and Chris Jericho have been in contact with each other in regards to him joining the company sometime in the future.

And not just in a singing capacity.

Dixie Carter has had several talks with Jericho, who is known to keep close tabs on the industry.

While Y2J's name is high up on the list of people that TNA management wants to bring in for the company, the belief within WWE is that Jericho will end up back in his old wrestling ground when he does decide to return to the ring.

WWE Rumors: Lita on Her Way Out?

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Lita (real name: Amy Dumas) will leave the WWE some time around Survivor Series.

Despite her awful mic skills, rumors have Lita wanting to pursue local acting in Atlanta after her WWE career is finished. Her main interest is said to be theater.

Insiders also claim Lita may show up in TNA at some point because the schedule is less burdensome.

Goodbye, Lita?

WWE Rumors: Monty Brown to Sign?

Monty BrownPWInsider.com is reporting that former TNA wrestling star Monty Brown was backstage at last night's WWE Monday Night Raw taping in Chicago.

According to reports, Brown has opened contract negotiations with WWE at this time.

Brown is no longer under a deal with TNA and was not booked for the October 9 TV tapings or the Bound For Glory PPV this past Sunday. He received a decent push to begin his career and would probably make an impact in the WWE if given the chance to do so.

WWE Rumors: Justin Credible Released from ECW

This would be just too bad for the long-time, respected, ECW star, but reports are surfacing that Justin Credible has been notified of his release by John Laurinaitis via a fax message sent to him earlier in the week.

The veteran hasn't appeared on any ECW programs for a few weeks.

WWE Rumors: Haas and Benjamin to Reform; Mysterio to Take Time Off

They were known as The World's Greatest Tag Team, so it would make sense for Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas to go after the titles again, right?

Rumors are swirling that WWE management wants to reunite the pair, but is afraid that Benjamin's poor mic skills would pose a problem. That hasn't stopped the company from pushing a racism story line on RAW with the wrestler, however.

In other news, it appears likely that Rey Mysterio will take time off after No Mercy on October 8.

WWE Rumors: Is Bischoff Being Used to Bring Back nWo?

Let us go on record right now: any thoughts of bringing in Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, as the nWo, to feud with DX should be thrown out the window right now. This rivalry would hog the spotlight and only fans from 10 years ago would care.

But we can't help but think it's in the immediate future for WWE fans - maybe as soon as Survivor Series.

Bischoff on RAW

Why else have former GM Eric Bischoff appear on RAW last night? One particular line of his spoke to the possible truth in this rumor:

“RAW in its current form wouldn’t exist without me. There would be no DX without the nWo (referring to a faction in WCW),” he said.

Vince rarely lets references such as that slip by without having a plan in mind. And with Triple H on the booking team it seems likely that his old pals will be appearing on the opposite side of a ring from him and HBK in the near future.

WWE Rumor: Big Smackdown Star on Way Out

Sadly, it's not The Miz.

Farewell, JBLAccording to this week’s edition of The Wrestling Observer, Dave Meltzer is reporting that John “Bradshaw” Layfield will be leaving the WWE in just a couple of weeks. apparently, JBL recently handed in his notice to WWE management and the October 6 edition of Smackdown! will be his last appearance on the show.

JBL, of course, has been just an accouncer for months now, but he's doing very well for himself away from the WWE arena as an investment banker. He wants to focus on that career.

There's no word yet on who would replace JBL next to Michael Cole as an announcer - but we'll let you know as soon as we learn more.
