WWE Rumors: Displeasure Over Announcing Team

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is evidently a tremendous amount of internal unhappiness within WWE over the current pairing of Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler as the WWE Raw announcing team. Based on reports, there has been lots of second guessing of the original move since the first week and that has increased even more so this week.

There is said to be so much concern that some discussions have reportedly taken place of shooting an angle to put the old team of Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler back together. Would you wanna see this happen?

WWE Rumors: Kane Heel Turn to Lead to Paul Bearer Return

On this week's WWE Raw, Kane turned heel after losing in the main event. He attacked commentators Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler, repeating "Is He alive or is He dead?"

Reportedly, many think Kane is talking about storyline father Paul Bearer, who was essentially murdered on television at the 2004 Great American Bash when Undertaker pulled a lever burying him in cement. On the following week's SmackDown, Bearer was acknowledged to be alive, although gravely injured, in a brief note from one of the announcers.

Will a newly heel Kane turn to long-forgotten Paul Bearer?

Due to Monday's angle, Bearer has posted the following on his blog:

Mercy...
PP.com has had over 20,000 visitors since WWE RAW went off the air last night, and my mailbox has been bombarded with emails. The question of the day seems to be: "Was Kane's rampage last night about his cemented Father Paul Bearer?"

Sorry, but I can't answer that one. Interesting storyline, isn't it?

Be Blessed.

WrestleMania 25 Musings, Matches

Former WWE creative team member Seth Mates has listed the matches he'd book for WrestleMania 25.

Taken from his latest blog, here's how Mates would current set up the card. Let us know your thoughts on his proposed matches...

Triple H vs. Edge -- I'd put the title on Edge at the Great American Bash and then keep it on him til WrestleMania 25. Let HHH play the role of babyface in the chase. I actually LOVE the storyline of Triple H getting screwed by the wrestler who's dating the boss; substitute "everyone else" where I just said "Triple H" and you've got the story of WWE for the past six years.

Readying a Spear

John Cena vs. Batista -- No title on the line here. You don't need one. I'd build this feud by having these two guys be CM Punk's challengers for the titles, and they cost each other those matches. I'd start it at the Bash -- Batista loses somehow, then Cena tries to jump in as the next challenger. Batista's angry, says he still deserves another shot, but Cena gets the shot, say at SummerSlam. Batista costs Cena the match at SSlam. Go to Survivor Series with a Triple Threat, then to the Rumble, which neither guy wins. Maybe they eliminate each other.

Batista's the natural heel, though I've been advocating for a Cena heel turn for months now. But if they keep these guys apart until Mania, this match has a VERY big-time feel to it.

CM Punk vs. Randy Orton -- Yes, I'm advocating keeping the title on Punk for this long. Heel first-time champions can usually have pretty short title reigns (Triple H, Edge) and get over, but babyfaces (Hogan, Warrior, Diesel, Cena, Batista) need some time to make the fans believe in them. Punk has a natural charisma and confidence that will make people rally behind him.

Orton, on the other hand, is the most natural heel in the business. I don't know what I'd do with the finish of this match, but if they do move forward with a third-generation faction, Orton as World Champ seems like a natural choice to lead it.

WWE Rumors: Jeff Hardy's Next Feud

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a new feud on Smackdown may feature Shelton Benjamin against Jeff Hardy.

While this would match up two of the WWE's best in-ring workers, it would also feature two of the company's worst on the mic against one another.

Do you think a Shelton Benjamin versus Jeff Hardy feud would work?

WrestleMania 25 Spoiler, Rumored Match

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the long-awaited match between John Cena and Batista may take place at Wrestlemania 25

During a recent a creative meeting, Triple H pitched an idea for Batista to eventually turn heel and build towards a match with Cena at the event.

What do you think of this possibility? We're all for it, with one exception: We wanna see Cena turn heel!

A Racy Issue: Mark Henry as ECW Champion

Did Mark Henry win the ECW title this week because of recent racial statement made by Michael Hayes?

None other than celebrity gossip website TMZ poses this question, claiming that various WWE sources have said that The World's Strongest Man" would never have been in line for a championship belt if the racial controversy didn't exist.

Mark Henry

In April, the company suspended writer Michael Hayes for 60 days for telling Henry: "I'm more n***** than you are." On Sunday, at Night of Champions (one week after Hayes was reinstated) the twelve-year WWE veteran and former Olympian finally got his big moment by winning the company's ECW world title.

WWE officials did not return TMZ's phone call on the issue. What's our take on it?

We almost hope this is true. The alternative would be that writers think Henry's in-ring work is actually deserving of a title - and that's even scarier!

Rey Mysterio, Others Displeased with WWE Draft Results

WWE rumors making the rounds, courtesy of prowrestling.net, state that Rey Mysterio was the least happy superstar to shift brands this week.

Mysterio reportedly liked the fact that the SmackDown! brand had more of a Latino demographic. Moreover, WWE officials didn't inform Rey of his move to RAW until the announcement was made on-air.

Fans can now catch Rey Mysterio on WWE RAW.

Although Batista is not displeased about his shift to WWE RAW, he was also not informed of hit ahead of time.

Triple H appears to be the only wrestler who was told in advance about his brand move. Doesn't seem like great company policy, in our view.

WWE Rumors: Future of JBL, Umaga

A pair of WWE rumors regarding two major heels:

  • According to a report in The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, JBL's future is unclear. The former WWE champion and announcer is still said to have back problems and hasn't been able to perform up to his pre-injury status.
  • There's talk of transitioning Umaga. Many want the character to do his own interviews in order to expand on his presence.

WWE Creative Team High on Lance Cade

According to various sources and WWE rumors, the creative team has big plans for Lance Cade.

They're having discussions on how to repackage the superstar. Look for him to slowly make his way toward main eventing as a heel, while continuing his partnership with Chris Jericho.

Is Lance Cade the next big heel in the WWE?

Why Triple H was Moved to Smackdown

Of all the moves that took place during this week's WWE Draft, the most shocking was that of Triple H to Smackdown.

WWE rumors have been circulating, though, that the decision was based on personal reasons.

The schedule on Smackdown is actually a lot more convenient for Triple H, considering that wife Stephanie McMahon-Levesque is due to give birth in about a month. She'll be taking the babies on the road upon her return to work.

Makes sense to us. We also can't wait for an Edge vs. Triple H feud!
