WWE Divas Attend Trish Stratus Wedding

Congratulations are in order for Trish Stratus.

Soon after retiring from the WWE at Unforgiven, the wrestler married her high school sweet heart, Ron, over the weekend. A handful of divas attended the ceremony, including: Torrie Wilson, Lita, Maria, Lilian Garcia, Ashley Massaro, Ivory, and Victoria.

The couple is now off to honeymoon in Greece and we do wish the pair the best - but if you ever get divorced, Trish, we hope you consider a return to the WWE.

WWE Divas Comment on Retirement of Trish Stratus

As much as we were hoping that our Unforgiven spoiler would be false, it appears as though Trish Stratus really is retiring after the pay-per-view.

Yowza

We'll miss her. So will other WWE Divas, according to an article on WWE.com. Here are some of their reactions:

Candice: “I was really surprised. She’s at the top of her game, and I guess she’s just leaving on a good note. In her mind, it’s her time to retire, and I’m just happy for her.”

Ashley: “I was really upset when I found out Trish is retiring. She has obviously been a very good friend to me. She was the first one to take me under her wing, she was my first tag partner, she taught me a lot and I was really upset when I found out. I’m not gonna lie, I really felt choked up."

Even Mickie James, who began her career as a major rival of Trish's, had the following to say:

“When [Trish] started on WWE, I was actually starting on the independent level, so watching her grow as a performer at the same time as I was doing it in a much smaller league was really cool. Just to see how far she had come in all that time, it was truly amazing."

Unforgiven Spoiler Confirmed: Trish on Way Out

We had hoped this Unforgiven spoiler was false, but the WWE appears to actually be incorporating it into a story line now.

The company website has posted the following announcement on the future of everyone's favorite WWE Diva, Trish Stratus:

In a blockbuster that will send a shockwave throughout sports-entertainment, WWE.com has learned that Trish Stratus will be retiring following Unforgiven next month.

Stratus-Faction!

However, it wasn’t Trish herself that provided this information. Earlier today, Women’s Champion Lita called the WWE.com offices to announce Trish’s retirement.

Apparently, Lita overheard a personal telephone conversation this weekend between Trish and her parents about her decision to hang up the boots.

"Trish was saying that the road has been taking its toll on her and it was time to take some time for herself,” Lita said, “but the hardest part was that she couldn’t decide how to tell her fans. Well, being the good friend that I am, I figured I’d break the news through WWE.com to alleviate her worries and save her the trouble of figuring out how to let down all her fans like that."

Call us crazy, but we see this ending with Trish defeating Lita to close out her career on top. Mmmm ... Trish on top ...

WWE Unforgiven Spoilers: Trish Stratus on Way Out?

Spoiler alert!Summerslam may not even be here yet, but the WWE looks to have given away the main event of the following pay-per-view, Unforgiven.

According to the information released to WWE affiliates, John Cena will once again take on Edge for the WWE Championship. The quote reads as follows:
Don't Leave Us, Trish
"Nothing forgiven. Nothing forgotten. Everything gets settled as John Cena and the Rated R Superstar Edge battle it out for the WWE Championship."

Granted, it doesn't say WHO will win this Sunday and be defending the belt - but it's safe to assume a rematch means the heel, Edge, will come out on top.

There's also a lot of talk about the status of Trish Stratus. Her contract runs out after this year and she's getting married at the end of September. At Unforgiven, she may be written out of storylines for awhile, as she weights future options.

Everyone, say it together now: Please don't go, Trish!
