Vince McMahon Talks About Steroids Accusations

Following the press conference on Wednesday to announce WrestleMania 24 in Orlando, Florida next year, Vince McMahon was asked by reporters if he felt the news reported by Sports Illustrated showing that WWE stars on his roster received prescription drugs over the Internet sent a negative message or not.

Here is a transcript of what McMahon had to say:

"No, I don't think it sends a negative message. It would be one thing if that was brought out and promoted in our events and things of that nature. But we are talking about a minority of individuals that do things like this and you are going to find it everywhere. Not just for us whether you are a baseball fan, football fan or NBA fan. It doesn't matter, amateur sports as well. So you are going to find that everywhere."

Vince McMahon: Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year?

Vince K. McMahonWell, no, the WWE Chairman probably won't win the award. But one Sports Illustrated writer seems to think he should.

On SI.com, Andy Gray lists Vince McMahon as his personal choice for Sports Illustrated’s 2006 Sportsman of the Year award. The pick is based on WWE’s upcoming Tribute to the Troops tour.

“While five days may not seem like much of a commitment, it's five more days than any other professional sports team spent in Iraq this year. More importantly, the company doesn't make a dime off the trip. It's simply a way for McMahon and the rest of the WWE to say thank you to a group of people who are too often overlooked,” Gray wrote.

WWE News/Notes: Wrestlers Sick of Vince McMahon's Attitude; Thinking About TNA

The word going around the WWE locker room is that wrestlers are more sick than ever of a certain owner's behavior.

One source was quoted as saying: "[Vince McMahon] has everyone on edge because you never know when [he] is going to show up."

The man in charge is said to be very moody and unpredictable.

A top unnamed WWE superstar, meanwhile, has been telling friends he wished he wouldn’t of signed a long contract extension with WWE because he'd prefer to head to TNA wrestling at this point.

Yet another WWE wrestler said:"The guys who used to be marks for being in WWE are starting to see TNA as a better place to be ... TNA is seen as a viable alternative by more and more guys."

The company is reportedly aware of these concerns and has been requiring superstars to re-sign at least four to six months before their contracts expire. This way, they can't be seen in a WWE ring ring one week and a TNA ring the next week.

Vince McMahon and His Ego Aim to Motivate

Love Vince McMahon or hate him, you can't deny that his record-breaking ego has helped him succeed in life. Okay, except for that whole XFL thing.

The chairman of the WWE has released a set of motivational posters, meant to inspire others that are naturally full of themselves. We snagged a copy of one:
