WWE Spoilers: Triple H’s Next Feud

The blackout at the end of WWE Raw this week was reportedly done to set up two things.

  1. To plant the seeds of a forthcoming William Regal vs. Triple H feud
  2. To not give away the ending of the Orton/Triple H match, with a steel cage battle coming up at Judgment Day.

Does that make sense to anyone? Triple H will feud with Regal because he turned the broadcast off? Shouldn’t the viewers feud with Regal over that nonsense?

Terri Runnels Shows Love for Triple H

Triple H PicTerri Runnels appeared on the Monday Night Mayhem radio show last week and was asked if there was any pressure on her for being married to somebody in the company at the time.

The hosts used Triple H and Stephanie McMahon as an example, saying that people argue over whether he has his position in the WWE due to his marriage. Terri replied with the following defense of Triple H:

“I will defend Triple H in a heartbeat because I remember way back when, I don’t remember what year it was, but this was way back in WCW when Paul was at a party that Diamond Dallas Page and Kimberly threw, this was a Christmas party. And he had just gotten in the business, and I remember, everyone was saying “Here’s this new kid” and he had just come in the business and, I remember watching him, and what I respected about him was, he was such a student of the business.

You could tell he wanted to soak up and learn absolutely everything he could. And so for that, you cannot, there’s no way, if you really know who Paul Levesque is, and what he’s done, the way he has ate, slept, and breathed this business, long before Stephanie, there’s no way you can say he needed Stephanie to do anything. He didn’t. And I think it’s a great disservice to him whenever any fan says that.

Yes of course his life is made easier in terms of what he gets to do, I’m sure if he has an idea, it probably flies a lot quicker than, you know, any other Joe Blow, but to say that he hasn’t earned the place that he’s at in this business, I think is unfair.”

Triple H on Idol Gives Back

Triple H was his intimidating self on the American Idol special fundraiser last night, Idol Gives Back. This time, though, The Game wasn’t threatening an opponent with a sledge hammer.

He was encouraging viewers to donate to charity. Big difference there.

WWE Rumors: A Triple H Heel Turn, Title Run

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, head SmackDown! writer Michael Hayes wants to move Triple H over to the SmackDown! brand. Hayes wants Triple H to work as a heel in a main event program against The Undertaker.

As you might expect, not many within WWE that expect Triple H to make the jump. There is still a stigma that SmackDown! is the “B” brand and Triple H has been against moving to Smackdown! in the past. He wants to dominate on RAW, though he is not opposed to turning heel and definitely wants a run with the title.

The Wrestling Post Take: We’ve been saying this for months: Turn John Cena heel instead! A lot of the crowd already boos him. When Cena returns full-time after filming his latest movie, have him cut a promo, dissing fans for a lack of support. We can see it now: “If you wanna boo me, I’ll give you reasons to boo me!”

A Cena/Triple H feud, with Cena as the heel, would be a major ratings grabber throughout the summer. What do you think of it?

Triple H’s Brother-in-Law Passes Away

We now have a definitive (sad) reason for why Triple H missed WWE Raw on Monday.

The grappler’s 41-year old brother-in-law, Gordon B. Ouellette (who was married to his sister Lynn Levesque) suddenly passed away earlier in the day at Southern NH Medical Center.

He leaves behind two children, Peter and Neysa Ouellette.

Why Was Triple H Absent on Raw?

It was noted on WWE Raw by Jim Ross last night that Triple H was out with a “family emergency.”

It’s true, as Triple H was not at the building. Due to upcoming tours in Alaska, South Korea, and Japan over the next two weeks, WWE taped two weeks of Raw last night and will be taping two weeks worth of SmackDown & ECW shows tonight and tomorrow.

It’s unknown at the moment if Triple H’s emergency will affect his participation on WWE’s upcoming international tour. We’ll let you know more when we do.
