An Angle/Samoa Joe Classic: TNA Hard Justice Results, 8-12-07

The following report is courtesy of wrestleview.com...

- Jay "Black Machsimo" Lethal & Sonjay Dutt defeated Triple X & Motorcity Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) in a Triple Threat Tag Team Match. The match kicked off with all three teams brawling. They continued to go to shots of the front row showing "reserved seats" for Karen Angle and a guest. Lots of fast paced action involving Lethal, Shelley and Sabin in between tags. On the outside, Senshi connected with a big scoop slam on Lethal. Triple X worked on Lethal in the corner with Daniels standing over his back and Senshi getting in a few cheap shots. Daniels took the action to the mat with a headlock on Lethal. Lethal got some offense back in on Daniels, leveling him with a big dropkick. Big spot saw Sonjay Dutt take everyone out on the outside with a big moonsault. Dutt and Lethal show off some impressive double-team moves on Daniels. Another impressive spot from the corner involving Triple X and Lethal. The fans in Orlando were going crazy for this match. The finish saw Lethal get the pinfall on Daniels with an inside cradle.

- Backstage, Karen Angle is shown in Samoa Joe's locker room drinking wine with an unidentified bald man.

- Kazarian defeated Raven (w/ Martyr & Havok). Before the match, Raven (who was joined by Martyr & Havok) told Kazarian he could rejoin Serotonin and all would be fine. Kazarian looked to rejoin them, but took out Raven instead. This led to continued interference by Martyr and Havok during the match. In the ring, Raven sent Kazarian chest first into the corner. When Kazarian bumped off, Raven took him out with a big sitdown clothesline. Kazarian fought back with some quick right hands in the corner. Raven got a singapore cane and used it on Kaz with the referee apparently distracted. The finish saw Raven attempt a DDT, but Kazarian countered and hit a big boot to get the pinfall on Raven for the win.

- Backstage, Jeremy Borash attempted to tell Kurt Angle what he saw in Samoa Joe's locker room earlier involving Karen Angle and an unidentified man. Angle asks Borash where she is. Borash informs him and Angle storms off blaming Samoa Joe for all of his problems.

- James Storm defeated Rhino in a Barroom Brawl. TNA has a small bar setup outside of the ring. James Storm was out first and poured beer over a dummy bartender behind the bar. Mike Tenay said this was an anything goes match. The match kicked off with the two brawling into the Orlando crowd. Rhino cracked open a beer at the bar and drank it. Rhino also sprayed some beer on Jackie Moore at ringside. Rhino sent Storm right into the bar with a big back body drop. A toilet that was also setup for a "bar atmosphere" nearby saw Rhino stick Storm's head inside. Rhino brought a ladder, steel chair and trash can into the ring. Rhino attempted a Gore on Storm through a table, but Storm stepped away and Rhino crashed through it. Storm covered Rhino right away after this, but Rhino was able to kick out. Storm takes out Rhino with a steel chair and follows that up with a big superkick. The finish saw Storm take out Rhino with a beer bottle shot to the head to get the win.

- LAX defeated Voodoo Kin Mafia (w/Roxy Laveaux). Kip James has some interesting ring attire tonight. During LAX's entrance, they stared down Hector Guerrero. Fans in Orlando are really behind LAX. We barely got into the match when Roxy Laveaux threw powder into the eyes of Homicide allowing Kip James to hit the Fameasser to get the pinfall. Hector Guerrero ran down and told referee Earl Hebner what happened. The match was restarted and not much longer later, Homicide rolled up Kip for the pinfall. After the match, LAX and Hector Guerrero had some words for each other.

- A video package ran highlighting the never-ending feud between Eric Young and Robert Roode.

- Backstage, Jeremy Borash is with Eric Young. Young said he has been drinking his milk preparing for tonight's match. Kurt Angle shows up and said he couldn't find Karen. He accuses Borash and Young of fooling around with her. Angle storms off going to find her again.

- Robert Roode defeated Eric Young in a Humilation Match. During Eric Young's entrance, they go to a shot of what looks to be members of the police department saying that since "Pacman" Jones is around, you never know what is going to happen. Lots of quick offense in early by Roode on Young. A shot of Ms. Brooks smiling showing off her chest was shown at ringside. Roode kept up the offense on Young connecting with a big scoop slam followed by a knee drop from the top rope over the head. Young fired back with some powerful right hands on Roode. Big spot saw Young get Ms. Brooks on his shoulders as Roode was up on the top rope. Roode broke it up and attempted the Payoff, but Young countered that into a rollup with the referee distracted. The finish saw Ms. Brooks pass some brass knucks to Roode allowing him to hit Young with them to get the pinfall. After the match, Roode tossed Young over the top rope and said it was humiliation time. Gail Kim ran out to prevent anything from being done to Young. It ended with Roode accidentally taking out Ms. Brooks with a right hand and Young kicking Roode up the ramp. Young and Kim tar and feathered Ms. Brooks as Roode looked on from the ramp.

- Chris Harris defeated "Black Reign" Dustin Rhodes via DQ. Dustin Rhodes' new look is like Goldust, but with black and white paint. The match kicked off on the outside when Rhodes jumped Harris. Rhodes pushed away the referee when he tried to prevent more brawling on the outside. A second TNA referee comes out to get involved. Rhodes takes out both referees. Referee Earl Hebner comes down and calls for the bell when he can't control Rhodes either. TNA security then starts hitting the ring and Rhodes takes them all out. Rhodes pulls out a black spike and proceeds to bust open Harris with it. Rhodes finally backs off when Sonjay Dutt, Jay Lethal and Kazarian come out to help Harris.

- The Steiner Brothers defeated Team 3D. Team 3D is getting some great heat from the crowd in Orlando tonight. Brother Ray tore up a sign about the Steiner Brothers during his entrance. Both Brother Ray and Brother Devon worked over Scott Steiner's back near his scar. Big belly-to-belly suplex by Scott on Brother Devon. Scott pulls off the Frankensteiner on Devon, which gets a huge reaction from the Orlando crowd. Scary moment saw Rick Steiner drop Brother Ray on his head. The finish saw The Steiners hit the top rope bulldog on Devon to the pinfall.

Pacman Jones Speaks on TNA Wrestling

Senior VP of Sports Enthusiasts Media Ryan Houston recently interviewed Pacman Jones of the Titans. Here are highlights of the discussion:

Ryan: You nervous about being injured?
Jones: There are a lot of things that I do [where] I can get hurt. I ride my four-wheeler every day, and riding my jet skis. If you go in there and think you’re going to get hurt, you will get hurt. I’m not even going to think about that. Sure, there’s injury-potential, but there’s injury-potential doing anything.

Ryan: What about the physical aspects of wresting?
Jones: I’m staying in shape for whenever I can get back on the field. It’s a little harder then I thought it would be because of the pace. You stop and start a lot and that’s a lot like the NFL. Don’t worry, I will be ready when I get back on the football field.

Ryan: How you holding up with the outside issues that have caused your suspension?
Jones: I respect the Commissioner for his decision. I’m a man, and I’m going to man-up to it and handle my part. I’m just ready to get back, and hopefully I can get back a little early. I don’t have any harsh feelings.

Ryan: Was joining TNA your idea?
Jones: No, a mutual business associate of TNA and mine approached me.

*Note: Reportedly the TNA deal was arranged through Pinnacle Promotions, Inc., and also through business associates of fellow wrestler Jeff Jarrett.

Ryan: Are you going to have a special outfit to wear when you wrestle or will you just go with shorts?
Jones: Shorts, but make sure you tune into “Hard Justice” pay-per-view on August 12th in Orlando to see the whole outfit.

Ryan: What wrestling goals have you set?
Jones: Win the TNA World Tag Team Championship. I want to prove that I am the greatest team-sport athlete. I really want to show that I’m a team player.

Multiple sources are reporting that TNA Wrestling has inked a deal to bring in Adam "Pacman" Jones as a professional wrestler.

Jones was suspended for the entirety of the National Football League's 2007 season (with a review of the punishment scheduled for after the tenth game) due to off-field conduct issues, such as fights at strip clubs. The guy is a real class act.

His recent request to join his fellow Tennessee Titans for training camp was also denied by the NFL.

According to PWInsider.com, the Titans had no issue with Jones joining the TNA Wrestling roster.

TNA Wrestling Spoilers: iMPACT Tapings for Next Two Weeks

Here are the full spoilers from the next two weeks of TNA iMPACT tapings...

TNA iMPACT! Tapings for July 19:

Jeremy Borash was sent by Jim Cornette to find World champion Kurt Angle. But he found Angle in a tanning bed and he refused to go see Cornette. Angle also accused Borash of “checking out his package.” Angle felt Samoa Joe was going to surrender the tag titles after he was screwed over on Sunday.

(1) XXX (“PrimeTime” Elix Skipper, “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels & Senshi) defeated Serotonin (Raven, Havok & Martyr)

That’s right the multi-time former World Tag Team champions reunited last Sunday when Daniels became #1 contender to the World X Division title. XXX wasted no time in their trickery as Skipper went to lockup with Havok and Daniels jumped him from behind. The XXX advantage ended when raven hit Daniels in the back with the Singapore cane. That allowed Serotonin to take over Daniels in their corner of the ring. Martyr had Daniels in a front facelock when Skipper hit a slingshot move that let Daniels free so he could tag in Senshi. The end came for Havok who got hit with a Skipper legdrop, Daniels’ BME and Senshi’s Warrior’s Way.

After the match Frankie “the Future” Kazarian attacked Serotonin and left before he could suffer any real damage. Jeremy Borash came back to Angle’s tanning bed to find Angle tanning his buttocks. He told Angle that Cornette would fine him $10,000 if he didn’t come to the office. Angle got out of the tanning bed to find all of his clothes and two title belts missing. So he left the room in his bikini briefs. Mike Tenay & Don West were addressing the home audience when Team 3D crashed the party. They said they knew the Steiner Brothers were not in the building but were watching at home.

TNA iMPACT Ray said they cost Team 3D their World Tag Team titles and wanted to repay them face to face next week. Devon didn’t like something Tenay said and he choked him as Ray grabbed the timekeeper’s hammer threatening to hit Tenay. Kurt Angle began his search for his clothing and he questioned the TNA locker room. He accused Shark Boy of smiling like it was a joke, so he attacked him. Maybe Angle wasn’t wearing his glasses broke by Serotonin last Sunday or he just didn’t realize Shark wears a mask.

(2) Voodoo Kin Mafia member Kip James (w/BG James & Roxxi Laveaux) defeated Lance Hoyt (w/Christy Hemme).

Both Kip and Hoyt fought a power match in the early moments until Kip sent Hoyt to the floor where he followed and laid in some punches. Hoyt tried to avoid the punches and Laveaux as best he could and the tide turned when Kip focused on Hemme instead of Hoyt. Hoyt attacked and took the match back to the ring. Kip fought back with a Thesz press and avoided a Hoyt boot to hit “the One and Only” to win. After the match Hemme tried to crotch shot Kip but got stopped and Laveaux came in to hit a Styles Clash-like move sending Hemme to the locker room in Hoyt’s arms.

Kurt Angle met with the TNA production crew trying to find his lost items. He told everyone he would count to ten and they could return his stuff. Poor David Sahadi had to endure Angle’s package being near his face as the countdown occurred. A cameraman decided to leave but Angle attacked him thinking he was the thief.

(3) “Instant Classic” Christian Cage & “Tennessee Cowboy” James Storm (w/Jacqueline Moore, a six pack of longnecks & Tomko) defeated “War Machine” Rhino & “Wildcat” Chris Harris.

These four men met in singles matches on Sunday night so Jim Cornette decided to let them settle their differences. Harris jumped Cage at the opening bell and went to work with the punches before tagging in Rhino. However Rhino took his focus off Cage for too long and looking for Storm cost him. Cage hit Rhino with a clothesline off the ring apron. Cage & Storm kept Rhino isolated from his corner for several minutes. Harris tried to aid Rhino but it only did harm as Cage kept the referee busy, Storm hit a running boot to the face. Somehow Cage ended up on Storm’s shoulders as Rhino was on the top buckle and Rhino raked Storm’s eyes. Rhino hit Cage with a clothesline and tagged into a fired up Harris. Rhino had Storm set for the GORE but Cage pulled him to the floor. Storm went for the Superkick but Harris blocked it and hit the Catatonic but Tomko pulled referee Rudy Charles to the floor.

Harris looked for the referee and Dustin Rhodes hit him in the back with a chair. Storm crawled over and covered Harris to win. After the match the real fun began as Rhino attacked anyone that moved including Moore but Rhino picked her up for a powerslam. He made the mistake of losing sight of Tomko, who kicked Rhino in the face making Moore fall onto Rhino. When you thought things were done Abyss came looking for revenge on Cage. Cage hightailed it but backed into Sting and the baseball bat. Sting tossed Cage into Abyss for some retribution.

- Christopher Daniels is out first.

- Christopher Daniels won the 10 Man Ultimate X Match to become the NEW #1 contender for the TNA X Division Title. Don West stated they are using the Elevation X setup with so many guys involved. It kicked off with Daniels and Jay "Black Machismo" Lethal. We have a 1:00 timeclock running on the bottom. They are now stating that if you are thrown over the top rope before all 10 men are in the ring, you are eliminated. Puma is out (#3). Homicide is out (#4) and is WAY over with the Orlando crowd. Sonjay Dutt is out (#5). Petey Williams is out (#6) and is also over with the crowd tonight. Williams hit a Canadian Destroyer on Puma. Puma is eliminated. Homicide then tosses Williams out. Petey Williams is eliminated. Shark Boy is out (#7). Elix Skipper is out (#8) and gets a "WELCOME BACK" chant. Skipper tosses Shark Boy out. Shark Boy is eliminated. Skipper also tosses Dutt out. Sonjay Dutt is eliminated. Kaz is out (#9) and isn't wearing his Serotonin gear - looks like he is back to the previous gimmick. Senshi is out (#10) and is the final entrant.

Samoa JoeThe Ultimate X portion of the match officially begins: Everyone starts climbing up on all sides. Senshi climbs across on the bars and then lands on Daniels in the ring. Daniels is up next, but Kaz pulls him down. Daniels, Kaz, Lethal and Senshi all four get to the middle near the X, but all come down. Daniels then goes up again and Lethal follows. Lethal tries kicked Daniels in the back with his knees, but falls off. Daniels then gets his feet stuck in the structure and hangs upside. Kaz then leaps off the top rope and pulls Daniels down hitting a diamond cutter in a HUGE spot. Crowd goes nuts for this. Tower of Doom spot in the corner takes place. Kaz and Skipper avoid it and climb up. Both get to the top, but brawl off and hit the mat. Kaz hits his Flux Capacitor spot off the top rope on Homicide. Lethal goes up top. Senshi and Skipper pull him down and hit a double team move. This allows Daniels to crawl across, get to the middle and get the X. After the match, Daniels falls down as Senshi and Skipper smile. They tease that Triple X has reunited as Daniels, Senshi and Skipper all pose.

- Backstage, Jeremy Borash was with Team 3D. Devon cuts off Ray and says after 15 years, he will finally get a shot at the World Title and win it. Ray said he is speechless, but says he won't win the World Title. Ray proclaims he will win the X Division Title instead standing in at about 300...ish pounds. Both tease they will do what they have to do tonight.

- Leticia was with Samoa Joe. Joe said he can't trust Kurt Angle and promised to win the TNA Tag Team Titles tonight. He told Kurt that he would be coming for his World Title next.

- Mike Tenay and Don West rundown the card for tonight's PPV.

- Leticia is with VKM. BG James says that TNA has a new rule and that is no violence against women. He said that is fine because tonight they will introduce a new member into VKM.

- Before the match started, BG James got on the mic and did the old school New Age Outlaws introduction of the two. He accidentally said they were the soon to be "NWA" Tag Team Champions of the world. He then introduced the newest member of VKM - Roxxi Laveaux. The announces touted she was from New Orleans and into "voodoo." Get it? Since they are the "Voodoo" Kin Mafia? They kept the lights very dark when she came out, but was dressed like a voodoo woman with paint on her face and strange clothes. The fans were dead silent and confused. A loud "WHAT IS THAT" chant started. Very strange way to bring this new character in.

- Voodoo Kin Mafia w/ Roxxi Laveaux defeated Basham & Damaja w/ Lance Hoyt & Christy Hemme. Match started with BG James and Damaja. Lots of interference attempts by Hoyt early on. Kip James and Basham eventually got the tags. Kip tried going after Hoyt, but Hemme slapped Kip. Kip couldn't go after her with the new TNA rule. Lots of nearfalls after this point between both teams. Hoyt then comes in and takes out Kip with a big boot. This ends up costing Basham and Damaja allowing BG to hit Damaja with a chair and Kip covered him to get the pinfall. After the match, Hemme gets in Kip's face again. Kip grabs her and calls in Roxxi. Roxxi does some strange "voodoo" dances and then grabs Hemme and gives her a big Dominator. Still a very strange character to introduce.

- Backstage, Jeremy Borash is with Kurt Angle. Angle said Samoa Joe is jealous, but said he still had his back tonight in the Match of Champions. Angle said, "I'm great, I was born this way." He said tonight wouldn't be a 3-on-1 match and said it would be shake and break time.

- James Storm defeated Rhino. Match kicked off right away with brawling on the outside of the ring. Rhino then sent storm from the babyface ramp over the railing into the crowd. They brawled more into the crowd and Rhino sent Storm shoulder first into a wall that busted open. The action spilled back into the ring and Rhino attempted to bring a steel chair in, but the referee stopped it. Storm tossed Rhino to the outside and he started favoring his neck. Storm brought Rhino back in and continued to work on his neck. Lots of quick offense and pinfalls by Storm, but Rhino kicked out after each attempt. The finish saw a referee bump take place. Rhino went for The Gore, but when Storm turned out he smashed a beer bottle in his face. Storm covered Rhino, the referee came to and he got the pinfall for the win. After the match, Storm got some rope from under the ring and tied Rhino's arms behind his back against the ropes. Rhino was busted open at this point following the beer bottle to the face. Storm then got a steel chair and hit Rhino with it a few times. Jackie Moore came back out with some beer and a camera. Storm took pictures of her posing next to a bloody Rhino. Storm then opened up a mini-beer keg and poured it into Rhino's mouth. TNA security eventually hit the ring to break it up. Just as Storm was heading to the back, he came back down and hit Rhino again.

- Backstage, Leticia was with Jerry Lynn and Bob...sorry Mr. Backlund. Lynn called Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley a bunch of disrespectful rookies. Backlund said the veterans want no drugs, no cheating, no lying and especially no swearing. Backlund went crazy saying they were going to teach Sabin and Shelley a lesson tonight. Backlund screamed, "I'm done!" and walked off as Lynn smiled.

- Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley w/ Kevin Nash defeated Bob Backlund & Jerry Lynn. The match started off with Chris Sabin and Bob Backlund. Backlund with a few quick takedowns on Sabin early on and Sabin stalls a bit. Alex Shelley and Jerry Lynn get the tags next. Lynn handles Shelley easily and Shelley runs back to tag in Sabin holding him in fear of Lynn. Sabin and Shelley then take out Lynn and Backlund with some quick double-team kicks and celebrate. They put Lynn in the tree of woe and hit two big jumping dropkicks to the head. Backlund comes in to make the save and goes after Sabin. With the referee distracted, Kevin Nash comes in and takes out Lynn with a big boot. Sabin and Shelley then double-team Lynn again with some massive kicks to the head and body and then get the pinfall on Lynn for the win.

- Backstage, Kurt Angle is looking for backup tonight for the main event. He goes into the men's bathroom and finds Jay "Black Machismo" Lethal. He asks Lethal if he can watch his back tonight. Lethal, in his Black Machismo voice, responds, "Wash your back?" Angle corrects him and puts his world titles on his shoulders saying he could be that some day if he helps him. Lethal then turns Angle down and Angle attacks him in the bathroom.

- Eric Young & Gail Kim defeated Robert Roode & Ms. Brooks. Early on in the match, Eric Young took out Robert Roode with tons of quick offense. Young with a big belly-to-belly suplex on Roode. Kim took out Ms. Brooks when she came into the ring. Young with a quick rollup on Roode, but Roode kicks out. Young takes out Roode on the outside with a suicide dive. Kim follows that up springboarding over the top rope onto Brooks. Back in the ring, Kim hits Roode with a big right hand. Roode and Brooks grabs Young and crotch him using the steel ring post. Kim with a big dropkick off the top rope on Brooks. Young and Kim hit Roode with a double-dropkick and Kim covers Brooks to get the pinfall. After the match, a frustrated Roode goes crazy. He then blames Ms. Brooks for the loss and pushes her a few times. She leaves the ring and Young returns pulling down Roode's trunks to reveal a thong. Roode flips out and tries to pull up his shorts as Young runs away laughing.

TNA Wrestling News: Samoa Joe Contract and More

  • Samoa Joe was offered a three-year contract extension but turned the offer down. No details on why the offer was turned down.
  • TNA management is said to be very bitter towards Konnan and Ron Killings. The two walked out of the company before the Impact tapings on June 19th. Both wrestlers owe the company money. In Ron Killings case, money was the only issue.

In Konnan’s case, LordsofPain reports management was more upset with him for several reasons. One being that he signed a valid contract, which did not expire, and walked out of the company before an already written Television taping. Terry Taylor has already contacted Konnan about the money owed, there were also threats made to take legal action. TNA advanced Konnan the money needed for his hip replacement.

  • NFL star, Frank Wycheck, was praised heavily for his work inside and outside of the ring.

Eric Bischoff Shoots on TNA Wrestling

Eric Bischoff recently sat down with ClubWWI.com and responded bluntly with criticism of TNA Wrestling.

Here's what he had to say:

Eric Bischoff "They have not done anything yet and I don’t even know any of those people except maybe Jeff Jarrett and a handful of talent working there. I don't know anyone behind the (scenes). I don't know Dixie Carter. If she showed up in my driveway, I wouldn't recognize her. I don't know anyone over there. I don't know who's doing what. I really don't care. So it's nothing personal here.

I'd like to see them succeed…But the truth is, from what I've seen of their product, no one there really gets it. They're a small independent company that's been getting a 1.0 rating for the last five years. They keep trying to pull rabbits out of their hat with talent. 'Oh we're gonna bring in Sting and that's gonna turn the business around! ' Well, they brought in Sting, who's obviously a great talent, and guess what? Nothing happened.

And then 'We're gonna bring in Christian Cage. It's a big surprise. He's hot in WWE and we got him and it's gonna turn things around.' Guess what? Nothing happened.

Then 'We're gonna bring in Kurt Angle and he's the real deal. Things are gonna turn around!' Guess what? Nothing happened. Nothing's ever gonna happen until they get it."
