- NWA World Tag Team Champions LAX defeated Team 3D in a Non-Title Ghetto Brawl Match. Before the match started, Konnan noticed Hector Guerrero at the Spanish Announce Table. Guerrero stood up and stared at Konnan, but nothing else happened. Just an all out brawl with all four men in the ring to get the match kicked off. Lots of weapons are brought up, with the ring full of garbage cans and cookie sheets. One impressive spot saw Hernandez take out Brother Devon at ringside with a huge dive over the top rope. Lots of brawling into the crowd between LAX and 3D later on. Devon takes out Hernandez with a powerful shot to the head with a garbage can lid. 3D does the "whazzup" spot with Devon leaping off the top rope and connecting with a headbutt to the groin on Homicide. Ray has Devon leave the ring to get the table, but members of the Lation Nation hit the ring and go after 3D. Johnny Rodz then runs out to assist.

Frogsplash! Friends of Devon from Brooklyn run down to even things up. Just a big brawl taking place right now inside the Impact Zone. 3D hits the Doomsday on Homicide, but Homicide kicks out. They then hit the 3D, but a member of the Latino Nation interferes to break up the pinfall. Alex Shelley then appears at ringside with his camera filming the match. Shelley then goes up to the top and gives Devon a Frog Splash through a table in the ring! Homicide then covers Devon and gets the pinfall.

- Backstage, Jeremy Borash plugs the text vote for AJ Styles vs. Rhino tonight in an Elevation X Match. Borash was with Rhino. He said tonight he will be different when he speaks about his match. Rhino said he was scared and that gravity plays no favorites. He said he normally ends his promos with "Gore, Gore, Gore", but not tonight. Tonight is all about who doesn't get thrown off the top of the Elevation X first.

- James Storm & Jackie Moore defeated Petey Williams & Gail Kim in a Double Bullrope Match. Before the match, James Storm and Petey Williams were tied together with a bullrope, while Jackie Moore and Gail Kim were also tied together with another rope. The crowd in Orlando was really behind Williams and Kim. It was all Williams and Kim early on, with Kim wrapping Jackie around the ring post and hitting her with a big shot across the chest. Storm makes a comeback by wrapping Williams up on the ground with the bullrope. Storm lays in a few kicks, covers Williams, but Williams gets a foot on the ropes. Storm then responds with the Eye of the Storm on Williams, but Williams still kicks out. Storm then attempts the Canadian Destroyer on Williams, but Williams counters it into a back body drop. Williams puts the bullrope between the legs of Storm and uses it to his advantage flipping Storm over. The finish saw Williams go for the Canadian Destroyer, but Jackie gave Williams a low blow and Storm finished it up with a big superkick to get the pinfall.

- Backstage, Leticia is with Scott Steiner. Steiner hits on Leticia and she brushes it off. She asks him if he should be worried about Kurt Angle tonight. Steiner said he isn't since he has been focused on him for months. Christian Cage walks up and says he has been looking for Steiner. He talks about Tomko being in Japan and calls him the weak link of the group. Steiner said there was a "group" and that Cage was on his own tonight. Cage said this wasn't over and that he has an idea and takes Leticia with him.

- Senshi defeated Austin Starr in a Cross Face Chicken Wing Submission Match. This is a submission match. Austin Starr went to work right away on Senshi during his entrance to get the match started. Starr started to work on Senshi's shoulder to attempt to lock on a Cross Face Chicken Wing. Lots of big chops from Senshi to Starr that gets the crowd into it. Bob Backlund walked out during the match. The crowd in Orlando is really behind Orlando. Starr hits a nice combination of a gut buster into a T-Bone Suplex and then follows that up with his spinning elbow drop. Backlund is cheering on Senshi at ringside still. Another series of chops by Senshi on Starr. Senshi is favoring his shoulder in the match. Senshi gets in a series of big kicks on Starr. Starr cuts off Senshi with a rake to the eyes. Senshi attempted a Cross Face Chicken Wing, but Starr countered into an arm drag.

Starr with an impressive dropkick to Senshi's face. Starr then takes out Senshi on the outside with a big suicide dive. Starr follows that up with a slingslot corkscrew splash onto Senshi in the ring. Starr applies the Cross Face Chicken Wing, but it gets broken up. The finish saw Backlund interfere and help Senshi get the Cross Face Chicken Wing locked on to force Starr to tap out. After the match, Backlund tries to shake hands with Senshi when Starr attacks Backlund. Starr applies the Cross Face Chicken Wing on Backlund. TNA referees hit the ring to break it up.

- Backstage, Jeremy Borash is with AJ Styles. Borash plugs the text vote for Christian Cage vs. Samoa Joe tonight. Borash mentions Rhino's calmer tone earlier tonight. Styles calls Elevation X his match tonight and says Rhino is out of his element. He said it is Rhino's ego that has him out of his element. Styles said he will beatdown and embarass Rhino tonight. He said there is only one way to go tonight and that is straight down.

- Voodoo Kin Mafia defeated The Heart Breakers (Christy Hemme's surprise tag team). Christy Hemme came out and tried to announce her team, but VKM's music cut her off. Kip James gets on the mic and says here we are again. James asks Hemme how that strip club thing has been working out for her. He calls Hemme that pimple on his ass that won't go away. James offers to show it, but BG stops him. He said he hears Christy has some tag team and can't believe any guy would work for a woman. James said he likes his women in the kitchen, the bathroom, the yard and especially in the bedroom. Hemme gets on the mic and says she is sick of VKM and introduces her tag team - Romeo and Antonio, The Heart Breakers.

Tenay and West said The Heart Breakers were so oily that it would help them slip away from attacks by VKM. Lots of offense by VKM on The Heart Breakers. Hemme interferes holding Kip's foot back, allowing Antonio to go after Kip. Hemme attempts a low blow on Kip, but Hemme favors her arm. Kip reveals he is wearing a cup. Kip puts the cup in Hemme's face. Lance Hoyt comes out and takes a screaming Hemme to the back. The Orlando crowd has gotten quiet after the spot with Hoyt bringing Hemme to the back. Some boo's could be heard. The finish saw BG get the Pump Handle Slam to get the pinfall. After the match, Hoyt returned and celebrated the win with VKM. Hemme also came back out and yelled at The Heart Breakers.

- Backstage, Leticia was with Christian Cage as he was approaching Abyss. Cage was great here telling Leticia that he was good with Abyss after last week. He said they had great witty banter on iMPACT! this past week. Cage brings Abyss a picture of him, the champ, to replace the photo of James Mitchell. He said the way family works is that if you do something for them, they do something for you. Cage said after he takes care of Sting tonight, then maybe he could help him out with Samoa Joe. He said he heard Joe wanted to go after Abyss before Sting could. Cage and Abyss touch fists and Cage is surprised. He even channels Will Ferrell's "Ricky Bobby" line by adding, "shake and bake!" when they touch fists.

- Chris Sabin defeated Jerry Lynn in a 2 out of 3 Falls Match to retain the X Division Title. It was all Jerry Lynn early on with a series of arm drags and a quick dropkick. Sabin bailed to the outside to stop anymore offense. Lynn wastes no time and goes after Sabin. The crowd finally woke up again after the VKM/Heart Breakers match, with everyone way behind Lynn. Lynn got the first pinfall after a Tornado DDT. Tenay added quote, "43 my ass!" after the impressive showing of Jerry Lynn thus far during the match. Sabin won the second fall with his feet on the ropes rolling up Lynn. It is now 1-1. It looked to be over when Sabin hit the Cradle Shock on Lynn, but Lynn was able to kick out. Tomko Defeats Samoa Joe: TNA iMPACT Results, 3-1-07

The following report is courtesy of wrestlemag.com ...

Kurt Angle was in Jim Cornette’s office getting reprimanded for attacking Scott Steiner in a hallway. Cornette warned him to not interfere again, or else he would get tossed from the arena.

1. Senshi, Jerry Lynn and Jay Lethal defeated The Austin Starr, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin in 8:18. The heels attacked the faces, but it led to the faces doing a triple dive spot. That built the match great. Then it was right to a commercial. From break, Starr crotched Lethal for a two count. Bob Backland was doing commentary, and he was way out there. Just screaming at everyone, and he’s supposed to be a face. Does he and the Iron Sheik need to do a shoot interview or what? Speaking of which, Starr and Shelley (weren’t they feuding last month?) did the Backseat Boys camel clutch/drop kick combo on Lethal. Shelley attempted a senton on Lethal, who turned the tables and Shelley ended up hitting Starr. Senshi got the hot tag and started throwing kicks and forearms everywhere. He was about to deck Shelley with another kick before Sabin gave him the cradle shock for a two count. Lynn came in and gave Sabin a TKO (or the Brock Lesnar F-5).

Lynn tried the cradle piledriver, but Shelley recovered to give him the sliced bread #2. Lethal gave Shelley a flatliner/downward spiral combination. Starr delivered the Starrbuster (brainbuster) to Lethal. While all this was going on, Backland was trying to help Senshi recover, then he grabbed Starr, which allowed Senshi to do a rolling reverse cradle for the pin. Starr slapped Backland after the match. Backland then extended his hand to Senshi, who refused to shake it.

A video continuing the Eric Young/Bobby Roode relationship aired. Young was out running errands for Roode. They played the Leave it to Beaver theme in the background. This brought back memories of Beaver Cleavage skits from 1998. This concludes tonight’s visit to WWE purgatory.

Rhino Rhino did a promo regarding the Elevation X match with A.J. Styles. Shades of the Road Warriors from 1986: Rhino started throwing watermelons off the scaffold, which is how Hawk and Animal built their Starcade scaffold match with the Midnight Express. He vowed to gore Styles.

Sting, in his only appearance on the show, did an interview from a coffin urging him to choose life. They cut to Jeremy Borash backstage, where Abyss was screaming again. Anyway, Borash, after getting choked last week, refused to get anywhere near him. So Abyss attacked the boom microphone technician.

Scott Steiner came out for his match with Chase Stevens when Angle attacked him during his ring entrance. The X-Division wrestlers, Jim Cornette and Mike Nifong security members came out to break it up.

2. Steiner defeated Chase Stevens in :24. Steiner, who can’t work a lick anymore, did a belly-to-belly superplex, and damn near killed Stevens in the process. Steiner said after he, Cage and Tomko laid out Angle last week, Angle’s wife called him and said he wasn’t half the man he used to be. Angle ran out again, where a furious Cornette ordered the two separated. Angle attempted to put the ankle lock on Cornette. After a host of wrestlers pulled the two apart, Cornette said Angle wasn’t the whole show.

Chris Harris did a sit-down interview, vowing to get a hold of James Storm.

Alex Shelley (selling nothing from his earlier match) came out with a new Paparazzi productions video. It was Homicide visiting Johnny Rodz office, since Rodz trained Brother D-Von. He attacked him, with Hernandez joining in. Brother Ray came out to confront Shelley, and had a field day with him. He wanted to know why Shelley would participate in something like that. Shelley tried to apologize, but Ray was having none of it. They played it off like D-Von was helping Rodz recover. Kevin Nash came out, but never got in the ring. Ultimately, LAX ran in, but Ray fended both of them off until Shelley gave him a low blow. Konnan was wheeled out and ordered LAX to get the tables. After Homicide gave Ray several shots with a slapjack, Hernandez sent Ray through the table with a spinebuster. Good angle.

Ron Killings was apparently injured during the filming of his latest film.

Samoa Joe did a good interview promoting his match with Christian Cage. Meanwhile, Abyss was threatening a stagehand when Joe intervened, telling him to stand up for himself and stop listening to the demons in his head. Abyss seemed to listen.

They had a text message election wanting fans to determine whether Styles or Rhino would go off Elevation X next Sunday.

3. Tomko defeated Samoa Joe in 5:57. Good stiff opening, as they traded forearms after Tomko jumped Joe at the bell. Joe clotheslined Tomko over the top, and followed with an elbow suicidia. Crowd was hot. They had a stiff opening. Looked like a great match was brewing. Then they cut to a commercial. Sigh. Upon return, Tomko hit a spinebuster for a two count. Joe caught Tomko charging in with an elbow, and hit a flying knee off the second rope for a two count. Tomko missed a clothesline and got caught in a powerslam for another near fall. Tomko missed a high kick, and Joe set up for the muscle buster off the top when Cage ran out and hit him with a chair. Tomko got the pin. Cage wanted to hit Joe with the belt, but Joe kicked Tomko low, and put the Kokina Clutch on Cage. This brought out Steiner, and the heels put the boots to him. Abyss made the save, only to give Joe the black hole slam to end the show.

TNA Wrestling News: Dixie Carter Interview

The president of TNA Wrestling, Dixie Carter, was the special guest on last night's edition edition of Monday Night Mayhem (w/The Big Mosh, Blade, & The Angry Hero), which can be heard in streaming audio every week exclusively on The Monday Night Mayhem Radio Network (www.MondayNightMayhem.com).

TNA Wrestling Spoilers: Former WWE Superstars on the way

It's expected their first feud will be with Voodoo Kin Mafia. Danny Basham will wrestle under the identity of Damaja.

TNA Wrestling News: Vince Russo Displeased with Product

According to new reports by The Pro Wrestling Torch, Vince Russo was overheard making a comment after watching a recent episode of iMPACT! on Spike TV. The source stated Russo said something to the effect of that he "couldn't tell you one thing he just saw" after viewing an episode.

Russo said this in front of members of TNA's management and other staff, which included TNA President Dixie Carter, Jeff Jarrett and Spike TV network executives. The word making the rounds right now is that Russo is as frustrated as anyone with the number of things he is being told to fit into each episode of iMPACT! every week.

There is reportedly pressure to put everyone on TV every week because most talent gets paid per TV appearance. Rather than adjust the current pay schedule, TNA Wrestling management has decided to require that everyone gets a short segment every week.

TNA Wrestling Notes: Former NFL Star, Lockdown Tix, More

  • According to a TNA Wrestling press release: Andre Rison, a former National Football League wide receiver who played in five Pro Bowls during his 13-year career, was manhandled by "The Monster" Abyss during a television taping for Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling in Orlando, Fla.
  • TNA officials are said to be very happy with ticket sales for their April 15th Lockdown pay-per-view in St. Louis. According to demographic studies, St. Louis was chosen for Lockdown because it is among the top rated cities for viewership of iMPACT.
  • The TNA Genesis 2006 pay-per-view has now been released on DVD. It features the first Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe match and Abyss winning the NWA championship.

TNA Wrestling News: James Mitchell, Raven, Samoa Joe

  • TNA Wrestling manager James Mitchell will not be appearing alongside Abyss during his Late Rites match against Sting at the Destination X pay-per-view. Apparently, Mitchell has been written off TV for the next two months. There is no word on why; neither has there been a storyline filmed in front of fans to explain his absence. Both Sting and Abyss are said to be surprised and disappointed about Mitchell being removed from the storyline.
  • During last weekend’s TNA shows, Raven brought his new wife along with him backstage. While there, she got into a verbal confrontation with the massage therapist who has a previous history with Raven.
  • TNA is responsible for Samoa Joe leaving Ring Of Honor in the next few months. They have new plans to invest heavily in Joe on TV and they don’t want another promotion benefiting from his name and likeness to sell DVDs.

Gauntlet for the Gold: TNA iMPACT Results, 2-15-07

The following report is courtesy of wrestleview.com ...

(1) NWA World Tag Team champions Latin American Xchange (“Notorious 187” Homicide and Hotstuff Hernandez w/Konnan and Machete) defeated Shark Boy and Norman Smiley.

The LAX had some fan support as Homicide hit Shark Boy with an Acecrusher and Hernandez choked and then tossed Smiley across the ring. After a top rope move from Homicide it was all over. But Team 3D came on the screens and said they were still gunning for the titles. They said they made a call and got Steven Schiripa of The Sopranos and Spike TV’s Casino Cinema. They said next week LAX would get beat down in a Belting Pot match with people around the ring holding leather straps. Konnan said those guys couldn’t tear a chicken up and they could bring everyone including Emeril Legasse for the match next week.

Mike Tenay and Don West talked to the home viewers. “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner made his way into the Impact Zone. Steiner said a month ago Cage called him and asked how to beat Kurt Angle. Steiner said his contract negotiations were put on hold last September because TNA signed Angle.

Scott Steiner

Steiner said like Angle he had beaten HHH, John Cena and Batista. Steiner said Angle’s keeps calling wanting satisfaction and that brought Angle out of the locker room. Angle said he didn’t come to TNA for the money and would kick Steiner’s as for free. He reminded everyone he came to TNA because it was not where he had worked. Steiner said Angle had what he wanted but Angle said talking was over. The fighting began and Angle Olympic Slam and Ankle Lock spoke volumes. Tomko and Christian Cage hit the ring and with help from Steiner got Angle down until Shark Boy, Jay Lethal, Norman Smiley Samoa Joe, Rhino and the Voodoo Kin Mafia hit the ring.

Angle talked to Samoa Joe and said their title agreement was on, but with tonight’s gauntlet match it was everyone for themselves.

Jeremy Borash was talking to Ms. Brooks and Eric Young. Brooks said Young was an idiot for falling for her. Robert Roode interjected demanding Young to remove the “Don’t Fire Eric” t-shirt and do his job tonight in the gauntlet, help Robert Roode win. Bob Backlund walked through as Roode and Brooks left.

(2) In an arm wrestling match, Gail Kim defeated “the Pride of Tennessee” Jacqueline Moore (w/Tennessee Cowboy” James Storm).

Before the lockup Storm, had Moore warm up with some punches. Slick Johnson made Storm exit the ring and we were on the way and Kim won. Storm tossed the table over and Kim attacked Moore. Storm grabbed Kim so Moore could punched her but Petey Williams hit the ring and then the mat as Storm beat him down. Storm looked real cocky until “Wildcat” Chris Harris jumped the rail coming through the crowd. Storm grabbed Moore and hid behind her until he could exit the ring and run for his life.

For the gauntlet Jim Cornette joined Mike Tenay and Don West.

(3) In a Gauntlet match, Samoa Joe became the new number one contender. Two men began and the others entered in two minute intervals. The participants entered in the following order:

(1) Sting (tossed out by Roode) (2) “the Phenomenal” AJ Styles ( tossed out by Tomko) (3) Rhino (tossed out by Tomko) (4) “Tennessee Cowboy” James Storm (tossed out by Angle) (5) “the Future” Chris Sabin (tossed out by Abyss) (6) Kip James (tossed out by Joe) (7) Abyss (tossed out by Joe) (8) Kurt Angle (tossed out by Steiner) (9) Tomko (10) Samoa Joe (11) Robert Roode (tossed out by Sting) (12) BG James (tossed out by Steiner) (13) “Showtime” Eric Young (tossed out by Tomko) (14) “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner (tossed by Joe with help from Tomko.) Joe and Tomko didn’t last too long as Joe hit an enziguri and the Muscle Buster to win.

Christian Cage immediately hit the ring but Kurt angle came out to even the side a bit. TNA officials were somehow able to separate everyone.

TNA Wrestling Note: Christopher Daniels on TV

Christopher Daniels will be appearing on the CBS show "Numb3rs" this Friday.

According to the TNA Wrestling website, Daniels will be portraying a mixed martial arts fighter in a scene during the show. UFC star Tito Ortiz - who recently ripped Triple H - will be on the show, as well.
