The following report is courtesy of lordsofpain.net ...

Team Angle are in the ring and Sting has a mic. Sting apologizes for not returning his phone calls, no disrespect, he had to work through a few issues. He just realized that he loves TNA and loves the fact he's part of Team Angle. You have The War Machine, The Killer, The Shooter and the Stinger, Angle needs to give us number five. Kurt Angle says he respects him more than he'll ever know, but right now he can't do that.

Samoa Joe He has things to do as a man and come to grips with before he does that. Joe tells Angle that he doesn't believe him anymore. He doesn't like conspiracy theories, but they're heading in one man short. The road to the title for Angle is a lot easier without Sting, Rhino and himself around. Joe, Sting and Rhino stepped up, now it's time for Angle to step up and tell them who their partner is. Angle tells Joe to never question is integrity. He swears on the American flag that by the end of the night there will be five.

In the ring Kevin Nash says there will only be one Black Machismo. Jay Lethal comes to the ring dressed like Macho Man.

Jay Lethal v. Chris Sabin (Non-title)
Lock up, Chris Sabin with a side head lock. Off the ropes, shoulder block sending Machismo down. Machismo jumps, Sabin sets him for the Cradle Shock, Machismo rolls through. Machismo knocks Sabin to the ground and goes up top, double ax handle. Two count. Eye rake by Sabin, elbow by Machismo. Machismo up top, Sabin knocks him down and he racks. Enzugiri by Sabin, Machismo to the ground. Two count. Standing senton by Sabin, two count. Rest hold on the ground with Sabin putting Machismo into a side head lock. Standing up, Machismo with elbows into Sabin, right hands. Sabin off the ropes, Machismo with an elbow, mid ring collision, two count by Machismo. Machismo off the ropes, Sabin slides and knocks him down. Sabin up top, tornado DDT, two count. Machismo into the corner, Sabin tries a big boot, Machismo catches and knocks him back. In the middle, Sabin with a spinning back kick, off the ropes Machismo catches him with The Lethal Combination. Machismo up top, Macho Man Elbow Drop. 1-2-3. Jay "Black Machismo" Lethal wins.

Laticia is backstage with Team Cage. Cage says that Sting resurrected from the dead, again. Cornette sets the new stipulation for Lethal Lockdown, it's going from bad to worse. Styles says it's all business, it's all about the title. They all need to focus on TNA Lockdown, they've got the advantage. Cage and Styles argue over if Cage knew that already. On the advice of AJ Styles, they worry about tonight first, then Lockdown. Steiner said and then his title shot. Abyss comes up behind Cage and breathes, Cage asks if he ever washes that thing.

Backstage JB is with Black Machismo and Nash. Nash asks Machismo if he trusts him now, he said yeah. Sonjay comes out dressed like Vinnie Vegas, Sonjay said he's done and they walk away. Eric Young is in a corner, JB goes up to him. Roode comes in and said JB is an idiot. This Sunday night, he's going to prove to Petey that it pays to be Roode. James Storm and Jackie came up during this and said something, but he mumbled like a drunk normally does. Afterwards, Roode came back and told Eric not to move from the corner.

Petey Williams & Gail Kim v. Robert Roode & Miss Jackie Moore w/ Ms. Brooks
Gail Kim attacks Jackie, Petey on Roode. Roode and Jackie into the ropes, both brought down. Roode on the outside, Petey over with a huracanrana. Inside, Gail mounts Jackie and proceeds to ground and pound. Roode in, back drop suplex on Gail Kim. Petey on the apron, up and over grabbing Roode's head, chincracker placing Roode's chin on his knees. Jackie in, rakes Petey's eyes. Roode with a running clothesline turning Petey inside out. Petey delivers hands to Petey in the corner. Quick reversal sending Petey in and back out. Petey charges Roode, spine buster.

Jackie delivering fists to the back of Petey Williams. Roode with a blind tag then an eye rake to Petey. Scoop slam by Roode. A ref was shown helping Gail Kim helped up the ramp. Back in the ring, blows are traded by Roode and Petey. Gail runs back down, dragging Jackie back into the ring. Roode picks Petey up, reversal. Kick to the back of the head, hesitation drop-kick to Roode's back. Tilt-a-whirl reversed, Petey nails a reversed Russian leg sweep. James Storm on the apron, Petey distracted allowing Roode to roll him up for the 1-2-3. Robert Roode and Jackie Moore win.

Post-match Chris Harris comes down and clears the ring before James Storm comes in and chop blocks him down. Eric Young from the back with a chair, attempting to clear the ring himself. Roode gets on the mic and tells Young to put it down or he'll never wrestle again in his life.

In the back, JB is with Christopher Daniels who's carrying the Sting bat. JB asks a few questions about his actions and motives as of late. Daniels presses the bat into JB's throat and pushes him away. LAX come from around the corner holding Runt with his mouth taped shut. They tell JB they couldn't find Team 3D but they found the next best thing: a family member. Tonight, he's going to pay the price. Konnan lifts up his shirt and shows a gun in his pants and they walk off.

Team Cage Adds a Member: TNA iMPACT Results, 3-29-07

The following report is courtesy of lordsofpain.net ...

Paparazzi productions show's Sting talking to Mitchell. The woman we saw last week was Abyss' mother. She shot Abyss' father three times in the back because of him abusing her and Abyss. Abyss wiped her prints off the gun and stuck his grubby hands all over it, and did six years of hard time for his mother. Mitchell gets up and tells Sting that he can foot the bill for their lunch, it's the least he could do.

X-Division X-scape Match - Shelley v. Sonjay v. Lynn v. Shark Boy v. Starr v. Petey
They all begin attacking one another. Petey v. Shark Boy. Lynn v. Starr. Shelley v. Sonjay. Sonjay with two huracanrana's on Shelley, off the top rope moonsault on Shelley. Shelley with a suplex on Sonjay. Petey comes over, Shelley into the ropes, Shark Boy with a knee to Shelley. Petey gets Shelley in the Russian leg sweep, Shark Boy drop-kicks him into it. Lynn with five hip tosses on each competitor. Lynn clotheslines Starr, spinning back kick on Lynn by Shelley. Shelley into the corner, Shark Boy eliminates Shelley with the DSD.

Shark Boy on the attack against Sonjay. Sonjay drop-kicks Shark Boy down, senton roll into a back flip splash. Sonjay up top, tries to huracanrana on Lynn, Lynn power bombs Sonjay into the cage. Lynn then eliminates Sonjay with the Cradle Piledriver.

Starr sets Lynn up top, raking Lynn's back with his nails. Shark Boy attacks Starr, Shark Boy up top, trying to get the DSD on Starr. Starr rakes his eyes and flips him over. Starr eliminates Shark Boy with a brainbuster.

Lynn and Petey double team Starr, sending him into multiple sides of the cage. They trade blows on Starr. Starr with double thumbs. Double kick brought back against Starr. Lynn sets up Starr for the Cradle Piledriver, Petey begs him to let him do the Canadian Destroyer. Petey eliminates Starr with the Canadian Destroyer.

Lynn and Petey trade chops, Petey up top, Lynn catches him and throws him into the cage face first. Lynn begins scaling the cage, Petey quickly meeting him on the cage. They trade blows as they get to the top, sitting on the edge of the cage. Lynn almost falls as they climb to the other side, slamming each other's head into the cage. Lynn drops to the floor for the victory. Post-match, Daniels comes in from the crowd and cracks Lynn with the bat.

Tomko Moments ago, Tomko showed up at the iMPACT! Zone. Christian Cage comes in and asks him if he had a good time, ate some sushi and some little noodles. Christian answers his phone, Tomko walks off. Christian gets off the phone and yells at Tomko, telling him that's fine, they'll catch up in a bit.

Team Cage make their way to the ring. Christian says he'd like to take this opportunity to make the official announcement that Scott Steiner is the third member of Team Cage. He welcomes Scottie to Team Cage. Steiner says to not forget the title shot that he deserves. Christian says they'll get to that later. He's going to officially announce the fourth member of Team Cage, Abyss. Christian says it's a pleasure doing business with a righteous man like Mitchell. He said Team Cage is complete. AJ says he doesn't know how they do it in Canada, but in Gainesville, Florida, that equals four. Where's number five? Cage introduces Tomko as the fifth and final member of Team Cage. Tomko is a no show, Christian assumes he didn't hear him. Another introduction, music is still playing. Tomko finally comes out, with a mic of his own. Since Tomko's come to TNA, Cage has made a bunch of promises, and they've all been a lie. He plays second fiddle to no one. Second, and most importantly, he owes him a title shot. He couldn't care less who else he's promised it to. Before he joins anyone's team, he wants his title shot. Tonight. Cage calls Tomko selfish, putting himself before the team. He's a man of his word, he will give Tomko a title shot, but not until after they beat Team Angle at Lethal Lockdown. Cue the good guys.

Team Angle make their way to the ring. Kurt Angle tells Tomko that Cage was never going to give him a shot. He's a liar. Tomko might want a piece of his former boss. If he joins Team Angle, he'll be able to kick his former bosses ass. Cage tries to speak for Tomko, Tomko tells him to shut up. Cue Cornette to screw all this up. This is a wrestling program, not a soap opera or a debate. It's going to be one member of Team Angle vs. one member of Team Cage. Whoever wins, wins Tomko. If Tomko agrees, Cornette assures him he'll get the shot Cage promised him. Tomko tells 'Jimmy' that he's got a deal.

JB backstage with Team Angle. JB asks him who's going into the match tonight. Angle said it's him, he won't let his team mates down. He's a man of his word. He's had set backs the past few weeks. His fourth and fifth members were supposed to be Sting and Abyss, but obviously that won't work now. Starting with Tomko tonight, he'll get the fifth member. JB says that's only four, who's the fifth? Angle tells him that some things are best left unanswered.

Eric Young v. James Storm
Eric tries to be friends with Storm, multiple attempts at a clothesline, Eric ducks. Hip toss on Storm, drop-kick by Young. Jackie grabs Eric's leg and allows Storm to pummel him. Kick to Young's midsection. Storm sets up Eric on the bottom rope, to the outside, running boot. Back inside, two count. Clothesline on Storm. Young into the corner, Flair flop, back in, belly to belly on Storm. Two count. Reversal, Eric into the corner, hops over Storm. Backdrop suplex on Storm. Eric up top, Jackie knocks him off right into a super kick from Storm. 1-2-3.Continue Reading...

Angle, Cage Add to Their Teams: TNA iMPACT Results, 3-22-07

The following report is courtesy of wrestlemag.com ...

Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe and Rhino opened the show with an interview, saying they all have big egos, but can you imagine what would happen when they combine forces at the Lethal Lockdown.

1. Kurt Angle, Rhino and Samoa Joe defeated Kaz, Martyr and Havoc in 2:24. Total squash, which is wise since the faces are the first three members of Team Angle. Finish came when Rhino gored Havoc, Angle gave Kaz a German suplex, and Joe delivered the muscle buster on Martyr for the pin. After the latest loss for Serotonin, Rhino put Kaz in shackles tied to the wall, and started pouring hot candle wax on Havoc.

Backstage, A.J. Styles was freaking out to Christian Cage over how impressive Team Angle looked. He was also upset at Cage for not keeping his promise about a title shot he was supposed to receive if he aligned with Cage. Cage said by the end of the night, the sides would be even-or so he thought.

Backstage, Sting and Abyss did an interview with Jeremy Borash. It should be noted that Letitia was backstage for several segments but never spoke in any of them, only serving as eye candy. Even then, she was fully clothed. Borash said seeing Sting and Abyss together was something he never thought he’d see. Sting told Abyss he was a step closer to being free of his demons, and there’s on turning back. Sting took off his sunglasses, revealing the scarred left eye suffered when James Mitchell threw the fireball at him.

Team 3D Speaks What followed was the best segment in months. Team 3-D, with cases in the ring, asked LAX to come out. Brother Ray, who did his usual superb interview, admitted LAX got the better of them. This was followed by a very audible round of applause from the crowd. Ray said 3-D and LAX had plenty in common, breaking the necks of young girls (referring to Beulah McGillicutty) and throwing 80-year-old women off the balcony (Mae Young. Big pop for that one). He took issue with LAX trying to take 3-D’s legacy, and they pulled out the WWE tag belts, the WCW tag belts (in fact, they were the last WCW tag champs, defeating the Hardy Boys on October 23, 2001 during the Invasion travesty), and finally, the ECW belts, which actually received the biggest ovation. Ray said at Lockdown, they were all-in, and teased if LAX defeated them, they would get the belts.

3-D stuck out their hands, but before Homicide and Hernandez could shake them, Konnan came out. He got out of his wheelchair, used his crutches to get in the ring, and cut his usual superb promo. He challenged them to a Electrified Cage match. Unlike with most Russo stipulations, they actually explained how if figured into the match, since an electric fence keeps illegal aliens out of the U.S. I doubt if that’s true, but Konnan made it make sense. 3-D didn’t accept the challenge, and Cornette looked flustered trying to figure out how to get an electric cage.

Bob Backland told Cornette he wanted a match at Lockdown. He offered a urine sample. After the events of this week, that was funny. Cornette told Backland he could referee the Austin Starr/Senshi match, but if he interfered in the upcoming Eric Young/Austin Starr match, he couldn’t.

2. The Austin Starr defeated Eric Young. Robert Roode gave instructions to Starr on his way out of the ramp. Young has gained some serious weight. He almost looks like the older brother of the guy who was playing the dork in Team Canada two years ago. Starr did a drop kick. He put Young on the top rope, climbed up with him, and scratched his back off the top. Roode and Miss Brooks came to ringside at this point. Starr did an STO, but missed the pendulum elbow. Young responded with an elbow, clothesline and backdrop. He did an elbow off the top when Miss Brooks distracted the referee. Roode got in the ring, nailed Young from behind, and Starr got the pin with the brainbuster. Afterwards, Roode and Brooks scolded Young until Petey Williams ran in. Young started brawling with Roode, flipped Brooks over after she jumped on his back, and started to shake hands with Young. Roode then pulled Young out of the ring and started chewing him out again. They sort of explained why Williams ran in there, since he, Young and Roode were all once in Team Canada.

Jerry Lynn did an interview. When he started to run down Christopher Daniels, the lights went out and Lynn got clocked with a chair. The lights came back on, and Daniels, in a black trenchcoat, started choking Lynn with a belt. Mike Tenay and Don West teased a program with Sting, which would be the right direction for Daniels to go in.

Chris Harris joined the parade to Cornette’s office. Cornette refused to let Harris in the ring if he’s 60% blind. Harris was furious, saying if that’s the best Cornette can do, it’s not good enough.

James Storm vs. Jerry Lynn never got going since Lynn was injured from the previous segment. Storm challenged anyone, and Harris came out. That was rushed, and could have been done next week. Gail Kim tried to hold Harris back, but Jaqueline Moore called Kim a no-good slut. Suddenly, Kim didn’t feel like restraining Harris. That was also rushed. Kim started brawling with Moore, while Harris chased Storm around ringside, and tore his ring robe off. Harris sure does run around the ring capably for someone with 40% eyesight. This crammed a month’s worth of angles into one segment, and didn’t have much heat.

Gale Kim started to ask Cornette for a match at Lockdown, when Moore came from behind and they started brawling again. Moore hit Kim with a tennis racket. Also thrown were printers, mugs and countless other objects before the Mike Nifong security broke it up.

3. Christian Cage and A.J. Styles defeated Sting and Abyss in 9:44. About 7:30 or so aired. Longest TV match since the Christian Cage/ Rhino cage with poles match late last year. The heels jumped the faces before the bell. Sting and Abyss opened with stereo splashes. Sting did the punches in the corner on Cage before Styles snapped Sting’s head off the ropes. Cage did a missile drop kick. Styles followed with the best dropkick in the best dropkick in the business for a two count. They went to a break. Upon the return, Cage missed a dropkick, but Sting missed a splash. Cage missed a diving head butt, and Abyss got the hot tag. He started cleaning house, as Cage took a big boot, as did Styles.

Styles took the shock treatment for a two count until Cage made the save. Then Sting made a blind tag, Abyss landed a double clothesline, and Sting hit a double crossbody block. At this point, James Mitchell escorted Abyss’ mother (though she was never identified). Abyss looked torn about finishing the match and going to his mother, only to ultimately choose his mother. In the ring, Sting was no-selling the double-team offense, and started to fire punches left and right. He put Styles in the scorpion death lock. Cage distracted the ref, which allowed Steiner to run in and clocked Sting with a pipe. Styles got the pin.

Lethal Lockdown Announcement: TNA iMPACT Results, 3-15-07

The following report is courtesy of wrestlingmag.com ...

Jim Cornette opened the show in the ring surrounded by the cage. He announced the Lethal Lockdown match, with Kurt Angle and Christian Cage as the captains. It will be similar to Wargame rules, with the match starting one on one, then after two minutes it will be two on one, two on two, etc. Cage protested, only to be drowned out by Cornette, who got his first comeback in months.

Lethal Lockdown AJ Styles came out selling his injuries from the Elevation X match, wearing a neckbrace, using a crutch, etc. He got in the ring, which was still surrounded by a cage, and said the doctor told him his back would never be the same. He teased like he would never be able to wrestle again, and said he wasn’t even able to call his wife to say he won’t be able to put food on the table. So he called Rhino out to call his wife for him.

Crowd was really behind Rhino for the first time since, well, the Vince McMahon interview. Styles kept trying to apologize for the feud starting in the first place. Styles asked him to end the feud. Rhino finally said “It’s over.” They shook hands. Of course, the instant Rhino turned his back, Styles ran over and tried to hit him with the crutch. Rhino caught it, but Styles kicked him low, and started pounding on him. It had the surroundings of a great angle, but again they killed the momentum by going to a commercial. Upon return, Rhino made his own comeback and started throwing Styles into the cage. Christian Cage ran in and nailed Rhino with a crutch. The heels put the boots to him until Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle did a run-in. Styles ran off, while Cage was briefly trapped until he climbed over the cage. Don West pointed out that Cage couldn’t do that at Lockdown, since there will be a roof over the cage. This was Joe’s only appearance on the show.

Chris Sabin was playing Playstation 2 in the locker room. Bob Backland was doing step aerobics, and they did a nonsensical interview. Total waste of time that could have easily gone to matches.

Kevin Nash (with Sonjay Dutt) introduced the new theme music for Jay Lethal. It’s basically a hip-hop version of Pomp and Circumstance (or Randy Savage’s theme song).

1. Jay Lethal defeated Jerry Lynn and Kaz in an X-Division 3-way. They opened with near falls. Kaz did a leg lariat on Lynn and a drop kick on Lethal for a near fall. Lethal tried a springboard dropkick on Kaz, only to catch him and laid up out with a nice Ace Crusher for a two count. Lynn made the save. Lynn hit a reverse DDT on Kaz, and got a near fall before Lethal made the save. Kaz did a hell of a spot with a reverse rolling cradle on Lynn, and before bridging back laid out Lethal with a northern lights suplex to cover both men for a two count. Crowd loved that one. Lethal hit a sliding drop kick on Kaz. Lynn hit a rana on Lethal for a two count. Lethal went for the cradle pile driver, but Kaz kicked him in the head. Lethal then hit a combo Flatliner/backbreaker combination, called the Lethal Combination for the pin in 2:36. Christopher Daniels ran in a nailed Lethal with a brutal baseball shot to the chin. Lynn and Kaz also got nailed. Good match, though short.

A.J. Styles and Christian Cage did an interview with Jeremy Borash. Cage announced Styles would be the first member of his Lethal Lockdown team. Styles said he thought Cage would give him a title match if he aligned himself with Cage, who tried to change the subject. Cage said by the end of the night, he would announce the third member.

2. LAX and Alex Shelley defeated Team 3-D in 6:38. Konnan was on commentary, and was very entertaining as always. Brother Ray’s right arm was bandaged, and appeared to be banged up. That left D-Von to make the hot tag in the match. Aside from a brief mention by Konnan, Brother Runt’s Bad Santa drinking gimmick was ignored, which was for the better. D-Von opened by Thesz pressing Hernandez and giving him the old Steve Austin right hands. Ray and D-Von gave Hernandez a double shoulder block. Hernandez clotheslined Ray, and started building heat on Ray’s left arm. It sounded like the crowd continued to make derogatory chants toward Ray, though they were edited off television. Ray turned the tables on Homicide and gave him a side slam, and tagged Runt, who delivered a double stomp off the top. After several clotheslines, Runt was tripped by Shelley and got rammed into the railing. During a commercial, Runt got pounded on the outside with rail and chair shots. Shelley hit a frog splash, while Hernandez nailed a 300-pound splash for a near fall before D-Von made the save.

Hernandez collided with Shelley, which allowed Runt to make the hot tag to D-Von (which the cameras missed). The difference between Ray and D-Von was really noticeable here, as D-Von didn’t have the intensity that Ray usually provides. He hit a neckbreaker on Hernandez, a choke slam on Homicide, and a running splash on Shelly. Hernandez pressed slammed Runt onto Johnny Rodz at ringside, who made a horrible catch and Runt landed badly on the ramp. Ray and D-Von did Wazzup on Shelley. D-Von and Rodz got the tables, and Shelley wound up taking the 3-D through it. Machete ran out and started arguing with Rodz, I guess to distract the referee. Then Hernandez schoolboyed D-Von for the pin. Pretty good match, but not much of a finish.

Backstage, Martyr was screaming at Raven. Kaz was tied up, and Raven was about to order Martyr to cane him. When Martyr refused, Raven slapped him relentlessly. Martyr walked off. Then he ordered Havoc to cane Kaz, who refused. Raven responded by caning Havoc.

Eric Young was cleaning out a toilet because Robert Roode ordered him to. Jeremy Borash was trying to get him out of his contract with Roode. Borash brought up Young’s friend, and perhaps he could get him out. Hopefully, that will build toward something.

Show ended with Styles and Cage in the ring. Cage introduced Abyss as the third member of his team. Abyss came out, but refused to enter the ring. Sting came out and said Abyss didn’t want to be on anyone’s team except his own. They teased like no one was sure which side Abyss was on. Jim Cornette came out and announced Cage and Styles would face Sting and Abyss next week. Sting and Abyss charged the ring and cleaned house on the heels to end the show.

Destination X Hype: TNA iMPACT Results, 3-8-07

The following report is courtesy of wrestlingmag.com...

Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle open the show in the ring. Angle called out Christian Cage, Scott Steiner and Tomko, and said he would be rooting for Samoa Joe against Cage. If Joe wins, he and Angle get a chance to finish their program. Cage told Angle and Joe to find a partner so they could have a six-man match tonight. Angle said the partner they would choose is a little crazy. I guess Angle anticipated Cage would ask in advance because Cage had barely laid down the challenge before Angle made the choice.

1. The Voodoo Kin Mafia and Lance Hoyt defeated the Serotonin team of Kaz (formerly Frankie Kazarian) Martyr (Maverick Matt Bentley) and Havoc (Johnny Devine) in 1:43. It was explained that Raven had changed the names of Serotonin’s members. All of the matches on this show were six-mans, and they all started the same way: brawling at the bell. Kip shoulder blocked Martyr, while Havoc hit B.G. with a kendo stick. Martyr chop blocked Kip, and the heels worked over Kip’s knee. Kip hit an RKO on Havoc and made the hot tag to Hoyt, who came in with the big boot to Kaz and Martyr, and pinned Havoc with a TKO (called Texas Tornado) for the pin. Raven came out for the ceremonial post-match caning. Kaz acted mad at Raven, so they’re already teasing dissension.

The Christian Coalition did a promo, where Cage continued his humorous mic work. He thought Angle’s mystery partner would be Abyss, so he tried to talk Steiner into speaking to Abyss. Steiner blew him off, saying he only wanted Angle. Cage turned to Tomko, who said he wanted a title shot first. Cage then took Jeremy Borash, who had to emcee the following segment. Cage said he would meet him at the curtain after it was over.

An Elevation X promo with Rhino and A.J. Styles aired.

Mike Tenay introduced the latest member of the TNA front office, Hector Guerrero, who got a good reception. Hector mentioned Gori and Eddy. As Tenay was about to present him with a plaque, Abyss came out. He glared at So Cal Val, took the plaque and absolutely planted her with a black hole slam. She took a hell of a bump.

Team 3D A package aired regarding the LAX/Team 3-D feud. Their match this Sunday is a Ghetto brawl match.

Backstage, James Storm, Miss Jackie, Chris Sabin, Bob Backland and Christy Hemme were all in Jim Cornette’s office. Cornette ordered Storm and Jackie to face Petey Williams and Gail Kim in a double bullrope match at the PPV, while Sabin (still in the lame old man gear) will take on Jerry Lynn in a best-of-three falls match. He also told Backland that Senshi would face The Austin Starr in a match where the only way to win is to use the cross face chicken wing. Hemme asked for a tag match between VKM and a tag team she would bring in. Cornette agreed to it.

2. Robert Roode, Eric Young and James Storm defeated Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt and Petey Williams in 4:05. Roode continued to order Young around, while Young played face. Lethal did his Randy Savage impression before the match, with Young urging the crowd on who wanted to see it, much to Roode’s chagrin. Good match, but the X-Division guys come off as total jobbers now. Finish came when Storm superkicked Dutt for the pin after he was distracted by Gail Kim attacking Miss Jackie at ringside.

Borash and Cage found Abyss. When Cage brought up Sting, Abyss went nuts. Eventually, Cage sacrificed Borash, who got choke slammed by Abyss. Didn’t we see that two weeks ago?

Sting did an interview promoting the Last Rites match with Abyss.

3. Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle and Rhino defeated Scott Steiner, Christian Cage and Tomko by DQ when Abyss ran in and interfered. Rhino was announced as the mystery partner to little fanfare. Joe and Steiner opened with Joe doing a leg lariat. Angle did a belly-to-belly suplex on Cage, and followed with another one to the floor. Tomko clotheslined Angle from behind, but Rhino hit a belly to belly on Tomko. He tried a gore, but A.J. Styles did a run-in, and he and Rhino brawled around the ring. Styles climbed to the top of Elevation X, where Rhino followed. They cut to a commercial at this point, just when they could be selling something intriguing for the PPV. Upon return, the heels built heat on Rhino, until Rhino hit a TKO on Cage. He made the hot tag to Angle, who started throwing german suplexes on everyone. He had an extended sequence with Steiner, which may not have been the best way to build a match between the two.

It ended up with Angle putting the ankle lock on Steiner, and then Abyss ran in for the DQ. Abyss gave Angle the black hole slam. Exactly why Styles run-in didn’t lead to a DQ, but Abyss’ did is a mystery you can solve. It ended with Sting appearing on top of the heels entrance ramp. The lights went out, and Sting was on top of the faces entrance ramp. The lights went out again, and Sting was in the ring, and started brawling with Abyss as the show went off the air.

Tomko Defeats Samoa Joe: TNA iMPACT Results, 3-1-07

The following report is courtesy of wrestlemag.com ...

Kurt Angle was in Jim Cornette’s office getting reprimanded for attacking Scott Steiner in a hallway. Cornette warned him to not interfere again, or else he would get tossed from the arena.

1. Senshi, Jerry Lynn and Jay Lethal defeated The Austin Starr, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin in 8:18. The heels attacked the faces, but it led to the faces doing a triple dive spot. That built the match great. Then it was right to a commercial. From break, Starr crotched Lethal for a two count. Bob Backland was doing commentary, and he was way out there. Just screaming at everyone, and he’s supposed to be a face. Does he and the Iron Sheik need to do a shoot interview or what? Speaking of which, Starr and Shelley (weren’t they feuding last month?) did the Backseat Boys camel clutch/drop kick combo on Lethal. Shelley attempted a senton on Lethal, who turned the tables and Shelley ended up hitting Starr. Senshi got the hot tag and started throwing kicks and forearms everywhere. He was about to deck Shelley with another kick before Sabin gave him the cradle shock for a two count. Lynn came in and gave Sabin a TKO (or the Brock Lesnar F-5).

Lynn tried the cradle piledriver, but Shelley recovered to give him the sliced bread #2. Lethal gave Shelley a flatliner/downward spiral combination. Starr delivered the Starrbuster (brainbuster) to Lethal. While all this was going on, Backland was trying to help Senshi recover, then he grabbed Starr, which allowed Senshi to do a rolling reverse cradle for the pin. Starr slapped Backland after the match. Backland then extended his hand to Senshi, who refused to shake it.

A video continuing the Eric Young/Bobby Roode relationship aired. Young was out running errands for Roode. They played the Leave it to Beaver theme in the background. This brought back memories of Beaver Cleavage skits from 1998. This concludes tonight’s visit to WWE purgatory.

Rhino Rhino did a promo regarding the Elevation X match with A.J. Styles. Shades of the Road Warriors from 1986: Rhino started throwing watermelons off the scaffold, which is how Hawk and Animal built their Starcade scaffold match with the Midnight Express. He vowed to gore Styles.

Sting, in his only appearance on the show, did an interview from a coffin urging him to choose life. They cut to Jeremy Borash backstage, where Abyss was screaming again. Anyway, Borash, after getting choked last week, refused to get anywhere near him. So Abyss attacked the boom microphone technician.

Scott Steiner came out for his match with Chase Stevens when Angle attacked him during his ring entrance. The X-Division wrestlers, Jim Cornette and Mike Nifong security members came out to break it up.

2. Steiner defeated Chase Stevens in :24. Steiner, who can’t work a lick anymore, did a belly-to-belly superplex, and damn near killed Stevens in the process. Steiner said after he, Cage and Tomko laid out Angle last week, Angle’s wife called him and said he wasn’t half the man he used to be. Angle ran out again, where a furious Cornette ordered the two separated. Angle attempted to put the ankle lock on Cornette. After a host of wrestlers pulled the two apart, Cornette said Angle wasn’t the whole show.

Chris Harris did a sit-down interview, vowing to get a hold of James Storm.

Alex Shelley (selling nothing from his earlier match) came out with a new Paparazzi productions video. It was Homicide visiting Johnny Rodz office, since Rodz trained Brother D-Von. He attacked him, with Hernandez joining in. Brother Ray came out to confront Shelley, and had a field day with him. He wanted to know why Shelley would participate in something like that. Shelley tried to apologize, but Ray was having none of it. They played it off like D-Von was helping Rodz recover. Kevin Nash came out, but never got in the ring. Ultimately, LAX ran in, but Ray fended both of them off until Shelley gave him a low blow. Konnan was wheeled out and ordered LAX to get the tables. After Homicide gave Ray several shots with a slapjack, Hernandez sent Ray through the table with a spinebuster. Good angle.

Ron Killings was apparently injured during the filming of his latest film.

Samoa Joe did a good interview promoting his match with Christian Cage. Meanwhile, Abyss was threatening a stagehand when Joe intervened, telling him to stand up for himself and stop listening to the demons in his head. Abyss seemed to listen.

They had a text message election wanting fans to determine whether Styles or Rhino would go off Elevation X next Sunday.

3. Tomko defeated Samoa Joe in 5:57. Good stiff opening, as they traded forearms after Tomko jumped Joe at the bell. Joe clotheslined Tomko over the top, and followed with an elbow suicidia. Crowd was hot. They had a stiff opening. Looked like a great match was brewing. Then they cut to a commercial. Sigh. Upon return, Tomko hit a spinebuster for a two count. Joe caught Tomko charging in with an elbow, and hit a flying knee off the second rope for a two count. Tomko missed a clothesline and got caught in a powerslam for another near fall. Tomko missed a high kick, and Joe set up for the muscle buster off the top when Cage ran out and hit him with a chair. Tomko got the pin. Cage wanted to hit Joe with the belt, but Joe kicked Tomko low, and put the Kokina Clutch on Cage. This brought out Steiner, and the heels put the boots to him. Abyss made the save, only to give Joe the black hole slam to end the show.

Kurt Angle, Scott Steiner Sign Contract: TNA iMPACT Results, 2-22-07

The Elevation X match was pushed strongly to open the show. A.J. Styles climbed the scaffold and challenged anyone, claiming to have invented Elevation X. Rhino came out. Mike Tenay acted surprised. Considering Rhino’s feuded with Styles for months, we're not sure why. As Styles bailed, Rhino climbed up and accepted the challenge for the March 11th PPV.

Team 3-D did an interview previewing tonight’s “Belting Pot Match” (basically a lumberjacks with straps match). Brother Ray tried to do in with an Italian accent. For some reason,

1. Team 3-D defeated LAX in a Belting Pot Match. Several unidentified members of the Pizanos were in the 3-D corner, while unidentified members of the Latino Nation were in LAX’s corner. Homicide and D-Von spent the opening minutes of the match getting tossed out and beaten to a pulp with the straps. As Hernandez got whipped outside by the Italians, Homicide blasted D-Von from behind. After he recovered, Hernandez tried a tornado DDT, but D-Von powered out and made the usual hot tag to Ray, who hip tossed Hernandez, backdropped Homicide, a Samoan drop to Hernandez and an uranage to Homicide for a two count. D-Von recovered to give Homicide a reverse 3-D. D-Von and Hernandez both got knocked to the floor, and the lumberjacks got into the predictable brawl with each other. Cousin Steve ran in, and joined Ray in lifting Homicide’s leg for D-Von to deliver the Wazzup. Steve and Ray told D-Von to get the tables. Hernandez ran back in, only to get caught in the 3-D for the pin at 5:28.

They cut to the back where Jeremy Borash tried to get a word from Abyss (without James Mitchell). Abyss just moaned. Borash was about to send it back to Tenay, but before he could, Abyss choked him, and lifted him up in the air.

2. Eric Young, Richard Roode and James Storm defeated the Voodoo Kin Mafia and Lance Hoyt in 2:00. VKM chant early. Not as much regarding Eric Young this week. He continued to be depressed about being under the control of Roode. Young and B.G. opened by dancing, and actually did a double-clothesline on Roode. Young acted like he didn’t mean it. Storm did the world’s first double-arm spinning neckbreaker as a transition move on B.G. That should be his finisher. Hoyt got the hot tag, gave Storm a flap jack and climbed the top rope. Roode crotched him, and Storm got the pin. Afterwards, Roode screamed at Young, while Chris Harris ran out of the crowd and chased Storm to the back.

Another Chris Daniels video aired, vowing to change from within.

Andre Rison did an interview in the ring. I was afraid he was going to announce the 1st annual Left Eye Memorial Burning Down the House match. Instead, he was there to promote his upcoming appearance on Pros vs. Joes. He was wearing an Indianapolis Colts jersey, which was his first pro team. Abyss came out. Rison stuck his hand out like a total dork. Abyss responded by giving him the Black Hole Slam. Rison sold it well.

The lame comedy segment of the show started with Ron Killings’ latest production, Rambuck Killings. If someone wants a lesson in how to make these segments funny, watch the King Booker/Queen Sharmel production from last week’s Smackdown. That’s wrestling humor at it’s best. Then again, there aren’t many wrestlers with the comedic touch of Booker.

The Paparazzi production was more of Paparazzi Idol. Jay Lethal did more Randy Savage impersonations. Here’s four minutes of this show that could have gone to the ladder match by the end of the show, but instead we got this. Suddenly, Killings rapping about trying to quit smoking didn’t seem like a bad idea.

Steiner/Angle Tenay and Jim Cornette came out for the Scott Steiner/KurtAngle contract signing. This was the highlight of the show. Cornette mentioned Christian Cage and Samoa Joe weren’t here this week because they were training for their upcoming title match. Steiner cut a promo about how he would take Angle’s gold medal and melt it, and said it was worthless. West chimed in that someone from Angle’s former employer said the same thing. Angle responded that Steiner came to TNA to rape the company out of every cent its worth. Why is it whenever Angle says “rape,” I have flashbacks to horrible Smackdown shows? Crowd was behind Angle for the first time in weeks, and this came off like a match people want to see. After each man signed the contract, they had a staredown, where Steiner threw a stiff headbutt, which opened Angle up. Angle responded with some hard forearms, clearly designed to get hardway blood.

And he succeeded. Tomko did a run-in, followed by Cage, who I guess wasn’t training after all. The heels (who were never given the name Christian Coalition) triple teamed Angle, with Steiner getting in a belly-to-belly, and Cage railroading Angle with the NWA belt. Good angle, and it set up the PPV match well.

Samoa Joe did an interview previewing his match with Cage. It was almost a relief to see no Angle-Joe interaction this week, considering that program has been beaten to death.

3. Jerry Lynn won a five-way ladder match to become the number one contender for the X-Division title over Sonjay Dutt, Senshi, Jay Lethal, and The Austin Starr. It was a disappointment because they never had time to get going. They literally went straight to high spots, because that’s all they had time for. Dutt and Lethal worked as a team, doing the old Hardy Boys’ fistdrop/somersault splash combo on Lynn. Immediately, Lynn came back with a satellite head scissors on Lethal and a spinning backbreaker on Dutt. After barely selling it, Dutt did a dropkick on Lynn while running up the ladder. Lethal and Dutt did a double baseball slide into the ladder onto Starr and Senshi, who spent the early minutes of the match brawling on the floor. Dutt and Lethal followed with stereo pescados, as they went to a commercial. Yep, they interrupted the flow of this match, but gave us two minutes of Kevin Nash telling Lethal he was black.

Mr. Backland came out on the ramp. Senshi tried a handspring elbow on Lynn, who reversed it into a powerbomb attempt, but Senshi countered into the Warrior’s Way. They lined three ladders in a row. Lynn got knocked off by Lethal. Dutt and Lethal climbed up one side, while Starr and Senshi climbed up the other. Senshi and Starr knocked each other down, while Lynn powerbombed Lethal and Dutt at the same time (which we really didn’t see). Lynn climbed up and got the X to win. Backland came to the ring, shook Lynn’s hand, and offered his hand to Starr, who threw his sweat on him instead. Starr tried to jump Backland from behind, but Backland put him in the crossface chicken wing to end the show.

Gauntlet for the Gold: TNA iMPACT Results, 2-15-07

The following report is courtesy of wrestleview.com ...

(1) NWA World Tag Team champions Latin American Xchange (“Notorious 187” Homicide and Hotstuff Hernandez w/Konnan and Machete) defeated Shark Boy and Norman Smiley.

The LAX had some fan support as Homicide hit Shark Boy with an Acecrusher and Hernandez choked and then tossed Smiley across the ring. After a top rope move from Homicide it was all over. But Team 3D came on the screens and said they were still gunning for the titles. They said they made a call and got Steven Schiripa of The Sopranos and Spike TV’s Casino Cinema. They said next week LAX would get beat down in a Belting Pot match with people around the ring holding leather straps. Konnan said those guys couldn’t tear a chicken up and they could bring everyone including Emeril Legasse for the match next week.

Mike Tenay and Don West talked to the home viewers. “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner made his way into the Impact Zone. Steiner said a month ago Cage called him and asked how to beat Kurt Angle. Steiner said his contract negotiations were put on hold last September because TNA signed Angle.

Scott Steiner

Steiner said like Angle he had beaten HHH, John Cena and Batista. Steiner said Angle’s keeps calling wanting satisfaction and that brought Angle out of the locker room. Angle said he didn’t come to TNA for the money and would kick Steiner’s as for free. He reminded everyone he came to TNA because it was not where he had worked. Steiner said Angle had what he wanted but Angle said talking was over. The fighting began and Angle Olympic Slam and Ankle Lock spoke volumes. Tomko and Christian Cage hit the ring and with help from Steiner got Angle down until Shark Boy, Jay Lethal, Norman Smiley Samoa Joe, Rhino and the Voodoo Kin Mafia hit the ring.

Angle talked to Samoa Joe and said their title agreement was on, but with tonight’s gauntlet match it was everyone for themselves.

Jeremy Borash was talking to Ms. Brooks and Eric Young. Brooks said Young was an idiot for falling for her. Robert Roode interjected demanding Young to remove the “Don’t Fire Eric” t-shirt and do his job tonight in the gauntlet, help Robert Roode win. Bob Backlund walked through as Roode and Brooks left.

(2) In an arm wrestling match, Gail Kim defeated “the Pride of Tennessee” Jacqueline Moore (w/Tennessee Cowboy” James Storm).

Before the lockup Storm, had Moore warm up with some punches. Slick Johnson made Storm exit the ring and we were on the way and Kim won. Storm tossed the table over and Kim attacked Moore. Storm grabbed Kim so Moore could punched her but Petey Williams hit the ring and then the mat as Storm beat him down. Storm looked real cocky until “Wildcat” Chris Harris jumped the rail coming through the crowd. Storm grabbed Moore and hid behind her until he could exit the ring and run for his life.

For the gauntlet Jim Cornette joined Mike Tenay and Don West.

(3) In a Gauntlet match, Samoa Joe became the new number one contender. Two men began and the others entered in two minute intervals. The participants entered in the following order:

(1) Sting (tossed out by Roode) (2) “the Phenomenal” AJ Styles ( tossed out by Tomko) (3) Rhino (tossed out by Tomko) (4) “Tennessee Cowboy” James Storm (tossed out by Angle) (5) “the Future” Chris Sabin (tossed out by Abyss) (6) Kip James (tossed out by Joe) (7) Abyss (tossed out by Joe) (8) Kurt Angle (tossed out by Steiner) (9) Tomko (10) Samoa Joe (11) Robert Roode (tossed out by Sting) (12) BG James (tossed out by Steiner) (13) “Showtime” Eric Young (tossed out by Tomko) (14) “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner (tossed by Joe with help from Tomko.) Joe and Tomko didn’t last too long as Joe hit an enziguri and the Muscle Buster to win.

Christian Cage immediately hit the ring but Kurt angle came out to even the side a bit. TNA officials were somehow able to separate everyone.
