• Many believe that a Ric Flair retirement storyline will be underway in the next few weeks. The storyline would conclude at the Royal Rumble, No Way Out or WrestleMania 24.

• The tentative main event for WrestleMania 24 will be Edge defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Undertaker.

The current plan is for Edge to capture the belt late in the fall and hold it until squaring off with The Undertaker at the event.

The plan for Undertaker when he makes his WWE return this Fall is to take on large opponents. His schedule return is at the Unforgiven PPV and will face Mark Henry. Henry's contract is set to expire, so it's believed that Undertaker will put him out of action.

There are also talks of him doing a program with The Great Khali.

Following Unforgiven the Undertaker will rekindle an old feud with Big Daddy V. He's being push as the monster in ECW and then will be moved to Smackdown.

- Show opened with Vince McMahon and Coach in the back. Coach said since Vince gave him all the information and he had narrowed it down to a couple of Superstars that it could be. .

Batista & Kane def. World Heavyweight Champion The Great Khali and Finlay
Mediocre match, with a bad finishing sequence: Hornswoogle interfered but was used as a battering ram on Khali as he was tied up in the ropes. Batista then hit a bad looking spear and Batista Bomb on Finlay for the W.

In the back, MVP is talking about himself with his entourage about how he can't box when Evander Holyfield came in.

WWE Champion John Cena def. Carlito
Alright match, nothing special. Halfway through the match there was a huge "Lets Go Yankees/Lets Go Mets" chant that I'm sure the wrestlers appreciated. John Cena won with the STFU, Carlito tapped quickly. While Cena still had the STFU in Orton ran down and attacked Cena. He then threw him outside and into the steel steps. Orton then set up a chair and did a really sick running RKO onto it.

Boxing Match: Evander Holyfield vs. Matt Hardy
Buffer was forced to introduce MVP, as Porter handed him a card. It was actually pretty hilarious as Buffer did his whole voice thing and said all these MVP catch phrases. First round: Holyfield rocked Hardy with some weak punches that Hardy sold pretty well, Hardy was knocked down twice and made it up just before the Round ended. Second round then began and it took Hardy like 10 seconds into the round to get up. MVP hopped into the ring and told Holyfield to knock Hardy out and then he touched Evander the wrong way and got knocked out. Holyfield hugged Hardy as the ref called for the bell. That was all she wrote.

CM Punk & The Boogeyman def. ECW Champion John Morrison & Big Daddy V
CM Punk got a nice pop from his following in NYC. The Punk/Morrison exchanges were really good, other than that it was give or take. Punk won with a surprise cradle on Morrison. Good match.

- As the ring crew cleaned the ring, McMahon and Coach came out. Vince realized that the crew was cleaning the ring so he stalled for time and worked the two ends of the stage as the crowd bowed to him. Coach then got on the stick and said that they couldn't wait for the DNA testing because that would take too long and that so with the information provided by Vince on RAW he was able to deduce who his bastard child was. Coach started rambling and Vince yelled at him to get it started. So Coach reveled his first candidate, he asked Vince if he remembered a night in Louisville, Kentucky and brought out Eugene. Vince said it couldn't be his son because he didn't have sex with his cousin. Eugene said his mom said she met Vince once and that why he became a wrestling fan, the he said his Uncle Eric said that he nailed his mom and that's why he got into wrestling to take Vince out of business. Vince yelled some and threw Eugene out of the ring.

Coach said the second child was from New York and could be the product of that night in the bathroom stall of the Port Authority Bus Terminal, Vince said they didn't need details and Coach brought out Balls Mahoney. Crowd went crazy for Balls, Vince said it was impossible and Balls said ist possible Vince could have Balls. Vince then yells, "I have no balls!" as Balls laughs and is thrown out of the ring. Crowd started a loud "Vince has no balls" chant when Vince tells coach to get on with it.

Coach then asks if Vince remembers the WrestleMania 2 afterparty in LA and brings out what could be his long lost daughter, Melina. Vince has a shocked look on his face and Vince says she can't be his daughter. Coach asks why and Vince whispers into his ear and Coach responds with "Eww, that's disgusting", Vince talks about how it was just a meeting on the 4th of July and Melina gets a mic and says if she's his daughter she's taking him for everything hes worth and leaves.

Vince asks if that is it and says he has one more but doesn't know if Vince should hear it. So Vince agrees and starts to leave but then changes his mind and said he wanted to know who the last Superstar is. So Coach said alright and out came.....STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN! Austin got on the mic and said it was a shame they didn't get to do all the father son things when he was growing up. Austin said he would do what any good son would do and help his father with his problems with his overactive grapefruits and gave Vince two low blows. Austin then stuns Coach and has a beer bash as the show goes off the air.

• Randy Orton is scheduled to become the next WWE Champion and defeat John Cena at SummerSlam.

• Rumors have surfaced that Ashley Massaro left early from Survivor: China and will make a return to WWE sooner than expected.

- Batista defeated Domino. Mad support for Batista. His pyro filled the arena during much of the match. Finish was botched b/c Batista didn't sit down on the Batista bomb, pinned Domino, then picked him up and did it the correct way after creating carnage with Deuce's body.

- Chimel introduces former World Champion Rey Mysterio and Chavo comes out dressed as Rey. Starts cutting a great promo (that the audience gave mega heat for) saying how he never wants to get in the ring with Chavo.

- Guerrero defeats Eugene via frogsplash. Chavo took off the Rey mask half way through, and Eugene even hit a three amigos.

- Backstage: Victoria and Kenny Dykstra are playing lovey dovey when Michelle McCool gets in their business telling them to get a room.

- Mark Henry squashes jobber. Druid music hits and one lone druid walks from ringside to the back. Undertaker on the horizon for Unforgiven.

- Victoria w/Kenny Dykstra defeats Torrie Wilson w/Jimmy Wang Yang. Wang Yang must have made his way to the back at some point along with Dykstra. The finish saw Victoria hit the widow's peak for the pin and proceeds to wail away on Torrie after the match.

- Matt Hardy defeats Finlay via count out. Decent longer match, well paced... Hornswoggle appears and momentarily distracts Hardy. Hardy was also very over.

- Kane defeats Sylvan (back on Smackdown!) via chokeslam. As Kane ignites the fire from the four turnbuckles, Finlay storms the ring and lays into Kane with a dozen shillelagh shots.

- Main Event: Khali beats Flair with the same Claw from last week. Wouldn't let go. Batista ran in and attempted a Batista bomb, but Khali reversed and put Batista down as well with the very same claw. Smackdown goes off the air with Khali holding up his title.

PWInsider is reporting that the plan going into the angle about Vince McMahon having an "illegitimate child" was for Ken Kennedy to be involved and link him as Vince's son.

Plans, of course, are always subject to change, but there has been talks for a while now within WWE about giving Kennedy a big push. Because previous plans had him involved with the original limo explosion angle, it appears he will be involved with this new storyline.

We have to ask: Why can't Kennedy get a push without being linked to the WWE Chairman?!?

- Teddy Long & Kristal come out to start the show off. Teddy says the wedding date is set for Friday, September 21st and we're all invited. This celebration is soon interrupted by The Great Khali and his manager. Kristal is scared out of the ring and Teddy gets angry over the interruption then makes a World Title match for Summerslam: Khali defending against Batista.

- Kane def. Chris Masters.

- Chuck Palumbo promo video airs.

- Mark Henry def. Nate Dickerson in a squash. Dickerson is a frizzy-haired guy weighing only 175. Henry gets on the mic afterwards and says that no one can beat him and no one will accept a match with him. The reason why? He shows a clip of him beating down The Undertaker a couple months ago.

- Deuce is shown backstage looking for Cherry. She ends up coming out of Batista's locker room. Soon after Flair and Batista walk out with smiles on their faces.

- Rey Mysterio return video airs. It says he will return at Summerslam.

- Arm Wrestling Contest: Matt Hardy def. MVP. MVP gets on the mic and says that he can beat Hardy and he'll get back in the ring right now to prove it. He gets back in the ring and they have a 1-on-1 match. MVP walks out in the middle of the match and Hardy wins via countout.

- Jamie Noble def. Shannon Moore. After the match, Hornswoggle comes out and ends up throwing a pie right in Noble's face.

- Kenny Dykstra vs. Jimmy Wang Yang.

- Batista and Ric Flair def. Deuce and Domino via DQ. Khali comes out toward or after the ending of this match, beats down Flair and then takes off.

- Batista over Domino with the Batista Bomb. Domino got a lot of offense, interference by Deuce.

- Hornswoggle beat Jamie Noble via count out to retain the Cruiserweight Championship Belt.

- Chavo Guerrero beat Eugene with the Frog Splash.

- Matt Hardy & Ric Flair beat MVP and Chris Masters when Hardy pinned Masters with the Twist of Fate. Afterwards, MVP got on the mic and told Flair and Hardy that he beat both of them, and Hardy challenge him to a match and he would choose the stipulations.

- Shows Kristal, Teddy Long, and Vickie backstage with Ron Simmons, Long asks Simmons to be his best man, Simmons accepts by saying Damn, of course.

- Mark Henry beat some dude, squash. Henry gets on the mic and lets everyone know that no man or beast can beat him.

- Jimmy Yang Wang & Torrie Wilson over Kenny Dykstra and Victoria when Yang pinned Dystrka with an awesome Asai Moonsault.

- Kane beat Dave Taylor with the Choke Slam.

- The Great Khali has a celebration filled with horrible indian dancers. Loud fireworks, Batista interrupts celebration and challenges Khali to a one on one match and takes down Khali.

On Comcast Digital Cable, in its On Demand section, you can watch some of the people's video entries for the WWE's Biggest Fan contest.

Afterwards, they have a promo where Steve-O is talking about how at SummerSlam, him and the crew from Jackass will be taking on Umaga.

Due to an injury Edge suffered during the Mardi Gras angle on last week's SmackDown, the champion will be forced to miss ring time.

Edge has apparently not yet decided whether he is going to pursue surgery or try to heal the torn pectoral in rehab, but either course of action will result in time away from the ring.

Consequently, he is expected to drop his WWE World Heavyweight Championship at tonight's WWE SmackDown! taping.

The plan is for a new champion to be crowned via a Battle Royal on tonight's show; the winner will make his first defense at the Great American Bash.
