New Number-One Contender Emerges: Smackdown Results, 9-15-06

The show kicked off with Finlay coming out and bragging about attacking Batista last week, costing him the World Title against King Booker. Bobby Lashley then came out and challenged Finlay. Smackdown GM Teddy Long announced a #1 Contenders Match between the two later tonight to determine who will face King Booker at No Mercy for the World Heavyweight Title.

- Backstage, William Regal and Finlay are show discussing the main event later tonight.

- WWE Cruiserweight Champion Gregory Helms defeated Matt Hardy.

- Backstage, Rey Mysterio is shown walking with his son, Dominick. Mysterio stops and talks with Dean Malenko.

- WWE U.S. Champion Mr. Kennedy vs. Rey Mysterio is announced for later tonight.

- Another Jimmy "Wang" Yang promo airs.

- The Miz defeated Scotty 2 Hotty.

- Brian Kendrick defeated Kid Kash & Idol Stevens in a Triple Threat Match.

- Backstage, King Booker, Sharmell, Finlay and William Regal all discuss the main event later tonight.

- Backstage, Rey Mysterio has his son watch the monitor in the back so he can watch his upcoming match with Mr. Kennedy next. When Mysterio leaves to go to the ring, Chavo and Vickie Guerrero are shown watching him.

Rey Seeks Revenge

- WWE U.S. Champion Mr. Kennedy defeated Rey Mysterio. Mysterio was distracted by Chavo & Vickie when they came out with Dominick to help give Kennedy the win. After the match, Dominick hugged Mysterio as Chavo & Vickie looked on.
- A promo for MVP airs.

- Vito defeated William Regal.

- Backstage, Smackdown GM Teddy Long is speaking with World Heavyweight Champion King Booker and Sharmell when Vito comes in. Vito has words with Booker. Long announces Booker vs. Vito next week on Smackdown.

- Sylvester Terkay defeated an unknown wrestler.

- Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero was announced for next week's Smackdown.

- Bobby Lashley defeated Finlay via DQ to become the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Title - Lashley will face King Booker at No Mercy for the World Title. King Booker and Sharmell were both at ringside doing commentary during the match. Regal was at ringside as well.

Your Number-One Contender

After the DQ finish, Batista hit the ring and attacked Finlay. Both brawled to the back. Booker and Regal attacked Lashley, but Lashley fought back and hit Booker with a Spear. The show ended with Lashley celebrating with the crowd.

Finlay Makes a New Enemy: Smackdown Results, 9-8-06

Match 1: Finlay vs. Rey Mysterio

- Finlay talked trash to Mysterio, then hit a headlock takedown. Mysterio countered into a headscissors. Finlay rolled around and managed to escape, moving into a headlock. He hit a nice uppercut and talked more trash to Mysterio, asking him if something's wrong. Finlay put Mysterio up on his shoulders, then hung him up on the top rope. A loud Finlay sucks chant came from the crowd. Mysterio blocked a punched and fired back with a few shots, but Finlay regained control with a knee to the midsection before whipping him into the turnbuckle hard. Finlay covered, but Mysterio got his foot on the bottom rope. Finlay hit a nice tilt-a-whirl slam and covered, but Mysterio kicked out at two before bailing to the outside to try to get refocused.

Finlay over Rey

Finlay swung on the ropes to kick Mysterio on the outside. Finlay held up his arms in victory in the ring. Mysterio finally got back in the ring. Finlay drove him into the corner twice. Mysterio collapsed. Finlay hit his seated senton drop to the back twice. Finlay went for the Boston crab and locked it in. Mysterio tried escaping by kicking Finlay in the head, but Finlay turned and adjusted the submission into something different. Finlay continued to hold onto one leg, but Mysterio managed to reach the bottom rope. Finlay went after Mysterio in the corner, but Mysterio moved and Finlay went shoulder first into the turnbuckle. Mysterio hit leg kicks. Finlay tried to hit a sunset flip, but Mysterio rolled through and kicked Finlay in the side of the head! He hooked the leg, but Finlay kicked out at two.

Mysterio went out to the apron and hit the springboard seated senton! He hooked the leg, but Finlay kicked out. Finlay went for a slam, but Mysterio slid out and hit the drop toehold to set up the 619. Finlay stood up, but Mysterio ducked a clothesline. He went for a springboard move to follow up, but it looked like he screwed it up by missing the ropes when he jumped toward them and bounced off. Finlay went to follow up and hit the celtic cross finisher, covering and picking up the win.

JBL got in the ring and said he had an obligation to all these Smackdown fans who Rey just disappointed after he embarrassed himself once again. He asked if the reason Rey's wrestling had become such a disgrace was because the woman he thought loved him slapped the taste out of his mouth, that being Vickie Guerrero. Rey pushed the mic aside. JBL said that they've got to know and that the Smackdown fans deserve that. He asked if the reason he's not himself could be because the entire Guerrero family has deemed Rey a piece of trash. He held the mic out for the answer, but Rey just looked sad and upset and turned away. Rey started leaving the ring and practically collapsed down to the floor as he lowered himself to leave. Mysterio paused as he walked up the ramp and looked ready to cry before continuing.

Match 2: United States Champion Ken Kennedy vs. Danny Giamondo

- Kennedy went for a go behind and took down Giamondo. Cole pointed out on commentary that what Kennedy said about Giamondo was, in fact, not true. Kennedy hit a running elbow drop, followed by a back suplex. Kennedy delivered a running leg to Kennedy in the ropes, then sent him off the ropes and beat down Giamondo in the corner. Kennedy hit a running facewash to Giamondo in the corner. Kennedy covered, but Giamondo kicked out. Kennedy put on a vise on Giamondo's head. Giamondo made a brief comeback and hit some headbutts to Kennedy's shoulder. He tried to follow up with a corner splash but got hung up on the top rope. Kennedy grabbed him and went up to the second rope, where he delivered his rolling fireman's carry slam to the mat.

Teddy Long announce that Kennedy would face the Undertaker at No Mercy on October 8.

Contract Signed, King Booked SpineBusted: Smackdown Results, 9-106

There was a Vickie/Chavo/Rey opening segment. The bottom line was that Vickie told Rey he'll never be a Guerrero and she slapped him.

1) Matt Hardy defeated WWE Cruiserweight Champion Gregory Helms in non-title match.

2) The Miz defeated Tatanka by pinfall in his SmackDown debut.

It was scheduled to be Bobby Lashley vs. Finlay for the U.S. Championship, but Teddy Long made a Triple Threat match for the title. Bobby Lashley vs. Finlay vs. Ken Kennedy.

3) Ken Kennedy became the new WWE U.S. champion by defeating Lashley and Finlay. He pinned Bobby Lashley for the win.

4) Vito defeated William Regal by countout.

Backstage promo with Jimmy Wang Yang, where he's talking about being a redneck.

MVP, who was sitting with two girls in the crowd, was interviewed by Michael Cole. MVP said that he could beat anyone on the Smackdown roster, he just wants the right contract offer.

Paul London & Brian Kendrick defeated The Pitbulls to retain their WWE Tag Team titles. After the match, Idol Stevens and KC James attack London and Kendrick, which led to the Pittbulls joining in, making it four on two.

The King Goes Down

The main event was the contract singing for the WWE No Mercy PPV between World Champion, King Booker and Batista. The ending saw Batista deliver the spinebuster through a table on King Booker.

Batista and Lashley Defeat the King: Smackdown! Results, 8-25-06

WWE World champion King Booker names Finlay and William Regal his "Royal Knights" with a ceremony inside the ring. They both thank Booker and promise to take care of anyone who crosses him. Bobby Lashley, then Batista hit the ring, with everyone brawling. Smackdown General Manager Teddy Long comes out and decrees there will be a handicap tag main event tonight: King Booker & William Regal & Finlay vs. Batista & Lashley.

Ken Kennedy defeated Matt Hardy after WWE Cruiserweight champion Gregory Helms (at ringside doing commentary) hits Hardy.

Backstage, The Miz and Ashley discuss Layla winning the Diva Search.

The Miz comes to the ring and brings out Layla, who thanks everyone for their support. Miz plugs that he'll make his in-ring debut on next week's Smackdown.

Sylvester Turkay defeated Tatanka.

They show highlights of Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero from SummerSlam. They show Vicki Guerrero walking backstage, as she'll be coming to the ring after a commercial break.

Batista Takes Down Booker

Vicki Guerrero comes to the ring and addresses the crowd. She apologizes for getting involved in the Guerrero vs. Mysterio PPV match and said she is going to move on with her life, but first she wants to apologize to both. Mysterio comes to the ring. She apologizes to Rey and they hug. Guerrero comes to the ring and hugs Vicki as well. They are all about to leave when Chavo attacks Rey.

He goes to hit Rey with a chair, but Vicki stops Chavo and takes the chair away ... then hits Rey with it. Chavo suplexes Rey on the chair. He and Vicki hug and leave Rey laying in the ring.

WWE Tag Team champion Paul London (with Brian Kendrick) defeated KC James (with Idol Stevens & Michelle McCool) via DQ when The Pitbulls hit the ring and attack London. All three teams brawl.

MVP comes to the front row to sit ringside with two women as they go to commercial.

Kristal Marshall defeated Jillian Hall.

They aired a vignette for Jimmy Wang Yang, which is his new official name, doing the cowboy gimmick he's used during a few recent dark matches.

Vito defeated Sylvan. MVP was laughing at Vito from ringside, so Vito called him out. MVP got in the ring to confront him, but MVP's agent calls on the cell phone and says they don't have a contract yet, so MVP turns down the challenge.

Batista & Bobby Lashley defeated WWE World champion King Booker & William Regal & Finlay.

The Animal
Match 1: Batista vs. Sylvan
Sylvan comes out with a mic and talks in French. He says tonight he will beat Batista in Batista's hometown. Batista immediately spears Sylvan! Batista then spears Sylvan in the corner a couple of times and nails a spinebuster. Batista follows up and nails Sylvan with the Batista bomb and this ones already over! Sylvan never got to take his robe off haha.
Winner: Batista

Footage is shown of Layla El winning the 2006 $250,000 Diva Search.

Match 2: Scotty 2 Hotty vs. Sylvester Terkay with Elijah Burke

MVP (Montel Vontavious Porter) is shown watching the show in the sky box with some ladies.
Scotty punches Terkay and bails to the outside. Terkay nails a huge side kick that knocks Scotty off the apron. Burke throws Scotty back in the ring. Terkay nails a butterfly suplex and locks in some arm submission move but Scotty fights back with elbows but Terkay nails Scotty with a belly to belly suplex. Burke gives Terkay some water acting as if this was a boxing match. Scotty nails an elbow and kick in the corner but Terkay nails a huge suplex where he caught Scotty off the top rope and held him in the air for several seconds and dropped him down hard to the mat for the win.
Winner: Sylvester Terkay

After the match Terkay applied his arm submission on Scotty as MVP claps on in approval.

Rey vs. Chavo at Summerslam. They show a video about the relationship of Eddie Guerrero and his best friend Rey Mysterio.

Kristal Marshall is interviewing WWE Tag Team Champions Brian Kendrick and Paul London backstage. Kristal gets in their face saying they lost last week to KC James and Idol Stevens. Kendrick said we may have lost last week but it was a non title match. When Paul London was about to speak KC James and Idol Stevens attack London and Kendrick from behind as Michelle McCool bark out orders. Michelle nails London with her yard stick and the number one contenders vicously through London and Kendrick into walls.

Undertaker Shows Up, Batista Growls: Smackdown! Results, 8-11-06

The show opens with The Great Khali making his way to the ring with Daivari. Daivari does the talking. He says who does the Undertaker thinks he is. Daivari says we do not accept the last man standing match at SummerSlam. The Undertaker's music hits and he quickly makes his way to the ring.

The Stupid Khali Taker throws punches and Khali fights back but Taker gets the advantage. Taker punches Daivari out of the way and chokeslams Khali! Taker celebrates his doings and poses in the ring.

Backstage, Chavo and Vicky Guerrero are talking. Vicky said this is ridiculous. Chavo says Rey is trying to take the Guerrero name from them. He says that he and Vicky are familia. Vicky says Rey is apart of our familia too. Chavo tells Vicky to remember Rey's last name is not Guerrero and to remember that well.

Match 1: Cruiserweight Champion Gregory Helms vs. Tatanka (Non-Title Match)

Tatanka chops Helms hard. Helms comes back with punches. Tatanka clotheslines Helms. Tatanka follows up with a bodyslam. Helms drops Tatanka face first into the turnbuckle. Helms attacks Tatanka's back and chokes him on the bottom rope. Helms nails a snapmare for two. Tatanka fights out and counters but runs into a high elbow from Helms. Helms jumps off the top rope and lands a picture perfect dropkick for two. Helms nails another snapmare and locks in an arm lock.

Tatanka fights out and chops Helms. They punch away at each other back and forth with Tatanka getting the better. Tatanka back body drops Helms. Tatanka nails the tamahawk chop to the head off the top rope for another two. Helms comes back and lands a neckbreaker. Helms follows up with the shining wizard and covers. Tatanka gets his foot under the bottom rope, but the referee doesn't notice it and awards Helms the match.
Winner: Gregory Helms

Long Holds Court

Daivari is yelling at Teddy Long backstage. Teddy says Khali will face Undertaker in a last man standing match, not at Summerslam but next week on Smackdown!

Match 2
: KC James and Idol Stevens with Michelle McCool vs. WWE Tag Team Champions Paul London and Brian Kendrick (Non-Title Match)

London and Idol start out. They lock up and Idol applies a headlock. London lands a drop toe hold and tags in Kendrick. They nail a double takedown. They make numerous tags to one another performing moves off the top rope focusing on Idol's arm and shoulder. Kendrick lands a crossbody for two. Idol tags in James. James lands an elbow for two. Kendrick tags London back in and both nail a double hip toss and kick James in a chest and back combo move.

London moves and James runs into Idol. Idol gets back up and attacks London from behind. Idol throws London kidney first into the apron. London gets bodyslammed on James's knee. London fights back and bounces James' face unto the mat hard. London makes the tag to Kendrick who cleans house. London lands a double flying clothesline to James and Idol. Kendrick rolls up Idol but James kicks Kendrick in the head and Idol rolls through and grabs the tights for the three.
Winners: Idol Stevens and KC James

Backstage Ashley Massaro is talking to Luke Perry. Kristal Marshall interrupts and steals Ashley's spotlight unto herself. Ashley says she's sick of it. They have a staredown, but Perry breaks them up and Kristal tells him to call her.

Jen England, Layla El, Milena Roucka, JT Tinney and The Miz are in the ring. Miz introduces Luke Perry. Jen is first, she does kicks on the guy acting as a dummy and low blows him. She pours beer on her like Stone Cold does and gets booed. Next. Layla does a stripper dance and takes off her police costume and shows off her flexibility. She gets in a catfight with Jen and is cheered.

Milena is next she does a snapmare on the dummy guy and locks in an arm lock. She's booed. JT is last and reads a poem. She's booed. Luke goes through the girls to see what the fans think. JT is heavily booed. Milena is heavily booed. Layla is cheered pretty loudly. Jen is heavily booed. Layla wins.
