Scott Steiner Slams Triple H, Shawn Michaels

Kevin Eck of The Baltimore Sun has conducted another interview with TNA Wrestling star Scott Steiner this week. The muscle-bound freak didn't speak too kindly about Triple H or Shawn Michaels.

Steiner on Triple H: Look at Triple H’s career before he started (having sex with) the boss’ daughter: He lost to Ultimate Warrior in 30 seconds; he was losing to guys like Alex Wright in WCW; he lost to one of the Godwins in a pig slop match. And then all of a sudden he’s [having sex with] the boss’ daughter and he’s the toughest guy in the world. I’m not the only guy who thinks that.

Steiner on HBK: Shawn Michaels is one of those wise-cracking guys who would say a smart comment to you, but then if you face him, he would run and cry somewhere. That’s exactly what happened one time when he was cutting down the Harris Brothers " I think it was Don Harris.

Finally, he had enough. He waited until Shawn Michaels got in the room, kicked everybody out of the room, shut the door, grabbed him by the neck and was going to pound the [heck] out of him. A tear came down his eye. He turned around, started laughing and walked out. That is Shawn Michaels in a nutshell.

What do you think of Scott Steiner's comments?

Shawn Michaels Return Update

Might we have seen the last of Shawn Michaels in a WWE ring?

Reports are stating that HBK is enjoying the time off with his family, while also focusing more and more on religion. Triple H thought a trip to OVW last week would rekindle the fire in his friend, but it hasn't appeared to do so yet at least.1

Michaels told Triple H that he is on the fence about returning and doesn’t know how much wrestling he can do. His knees feel bad and he doesn’t feel he can work the full-time schedule once again. If he were to come back, it would be on a lighter schedule.

As of now, there's no return date set.

Shawn Michaels Knee Surgery Update

The Heartbreak Kid As reported earlier, Shawn Michaels had knee surgery on May 23.

He won't be able to put weight on his knee for the month or two and then he will begin serious rehabbing. A return date in the late summer appears to be the most likely option.

With the type of surgery that Michaels had, the belief is that he will return stronger and in less pain than he has been in for the last year. It should be noted that Michaels has around three years left on his current WWE contract and plans to fulfill the rest of it. Says one WWE source about Michaels:

"I don't think he gives a sh*t about being the top act alone on any brand at this point in his career. He has pride in what he does, but he doesn't need or want the burden of being built around like Cena or Edge right now."

Shawn Michaels to Return by Survivor Series?

WWE is estimating that Shawn Michaels will return from surgery in time for Survivor Series.

While nothing will be decided until Michaels gets a full evaluation this week, the feeling is that he will not be able to work this summer. He has been removed from all main-event plans for the third quarter of 2007.

Prior to opting for knee surgery, Michaels was reportedly set to headline against John Cena in a PPV main-event this summer.

Shawn Michaels Injury Update

Despite injury concerns, Shawn Michaels - who hurt his knee during a house show earlier in the week - will wrestle Randy Orton on tonight's PPV.

This match, or one tomorrow night on RAW, may be his last for some time before he is on hiatus to undergo surgery - the extent of Michaels' injury isn't known yet but it is said to be serious and may put the Showstopper out of contention for some time.

HBK

Shawn Michaels Radio Interview Recap

Shawn Michaels called in to The Morning Buzz radio show yesterday on WGIR in Manchester, NH. Here's a recap of the interview:

They started off by talking about WrestleMania 23. HBK said John Cena was a good guy and that they shared the same sense of humor in that Cena doesn't take himself seriously. Michael's said that he's enjoyed working with him. HBK said that WrestleMania is what every wrestler aspires to be a part of because there's always a chance of something historic and memorable happening...it's totally different than any of the shows that the WWE puts on.

HBK Takes Flight They then went back in time a bit, as HBK said his favorite WrestleMania moment was at WrestleMania 12 against Bret Hart when he became World Champion. He said every wrestlers dream is to win the World Title at the Main Event of WrestleMania and he was blessed to be able to accomplish that.

He also said the ladder match at WrestleMania 10 against Razor Ramon (HBK called him Scott Hall) was dear to him because he felt that he was finally able to show that he could crack the main event scene despite his size...it was one of his personal best moments.

They then moved on and talked about WrestleMania 14 and his match against Stone Cold Steve Austin. HBK said he was so screwed up in his head during that time for so many reasons, mostly because he thought his career was over. HBK said that when you don't go out on your own terms, as an athlete, it ticks you off. At that point, HBK said he didn't achieve what he had hoped for with Austin and that was to give him the match that he wanted to really put him over.

HBK said that you have to have a clear head to go out and tear the house down each night and his head just wasn't right back then.

Shawn Michaels Signs New, Five-Year Deal

For a guy who supposedly isn't pleased with the current angle he's in, Shawn Michaels must at least be thrilled to be healthy and performing again in the WWE.Shawn Michaels Strikes It Rich

The Showstopper has reportedly signed a new, five-year year deal with the company one that guarantees him $1.5 million per year. He should be able to afford his share of DX shirts for a long time now.

Many within WWE were said to be "shocked" at how high of a contract was given to Michaels, according to The Wrestling Observer. These days, the business is offering superstars less guaranteed dough - even Michaels himself was expecting a lower contract and saw no choice but to sign on the dotted line once he glimpsed the numbers.

Truth is, if anyone has earned these riches, it's HBK. The man fought back from a crippling back injury and has been the most consistent performer on RAW for months and months now.

Shawn Michaels Still Hesitant about Lewd Actions of DX

Let's just say this is a new (de)generation of DX. Even with various lewd acts from the past toned down, however, Shawn Michaels is still uncomfortable at times with the pairing.

The New DX “(Triple H) and I are different guys now, so the concept itself obviously is going to come across differently,” Michaels told wwe.com. “I think that was inevitable and I think we knew that when we started it. We didn’t want it to be the same obviously; I mean you don’t want to put the fans through just a rerun. You certainly have to do your best creatively to try to bring some subtle differences to it.”

Just a rerun, HBK? You mean like the entire storyline of the McMahons against the top faces for weeks on end?

Something that has actually changed is Michaels' faith in the Big Man Above. No, not Vince. HBK is a born again Christian and it impacts any angle he's involved in.

"Well, obviously my faith and becoming born again was the one and only impact on my life,” Michaels said. “A lot of other things changed as a result of that, and I knew there were a lot of questions coming to do with the DX thing. They obviously asked me beforehand what I’d be comfortable with and what I wasn’t comfortable with and I knew this going in.”

Combine that fact with Triple H now being a father and it's definitely an older DX. But is it a better one? Not as long as the frightening physique of Chyna is missing!
