In his latest blog entry, WWE announcer Jim Ross talked about - what else? - the retirement of Ric Flair:
"Ric has a real roller coaster of a weekend emotionally but was much more wound up and nervous for the Hall of Fame ceremony than he was for Sundayâs WM24 match. Ric was always wound tight before a big match, going all the way back to the 80s, when he used to come to the Mid South Wrestling territory. I spent several hours with Ric and his family from Thursday thru Monday night and "Naitch" seemed to be more nervous over giving his speech than wrestling, what would become his last match.
Ric Flair is going to stay very busy working in a public relations capacity with the WWE and will likely be doing ample travel and pressing the flesh with many entities. Who better to do P.R. and tell stories and promote the business than "Naitch."

It might as well be Ric Flair month in the wrestling world.
As the Nature Boy retires, fans can relive much of his stories career in the Pro Wrestling Illustrated issue that comes out on April 15. Here's the cover for it:
As you can also see, the magazine says Brock Lesnar is a UFC flop. Do you agree?
According to Prowrestling.net, Rick Flair was offered the main event spot at Wrestlemania XXIV, but turned the down.
There was a pitch made by a creative team member to have the final shot of WrestleMania be a spotlight on Flair's boots and robe. However, Flair strongly disagreed with those sentiments when the idea was brought up to him during a press conference held prior to the WWE Hall of Fame convention.
The admirable reasoning? Flair told reporters that nothing is more important than the title belts and insisted that his match with Shawn Michaels did not belong in the main event slot.
Ric Flair has wrestled his final match. Do you think he was the best of all-time?
As WWE fans have known for awhile, Ric Flair is part of the 2008 Hall of Fame class. Here's a look and a listen at The Nature Boy receiving the honor:
According to TV news site TheFutonCritic.com, Ric Flair will be appearing on a new CBS series titled Secret Talents of the Stars.
The official synopsis for the show is:
"CBS uncovers the fascinating and unique abilities of some of your favorite celebrities and then makes them face off against each other in a tournament style talent competition!"
Secret Talents of the Stars debuts in April and other celebrities set to appear include singer Mya, actor George Takei and Olympic skater Sasha Cohen.

Longtime, respected wrestling columnist Mike Mooneyham recently penned a newspaper column that was largely highlighted by various WWE superstars commenting on the career of Ric Flair.

In an interview with MTV.com, Hulk Hogan says he wants face Ric Flair at WrestleMania 24.
"They need a main event real bad. When I think about Ric Flair styling and profiling, when I think about Hulk Hogan going [head to head] with Ric Flair in my backyard, Florida...
I think that's where it's at. They got a lot of tickets, brother, that need to be sold," Hogan said, dissing the current two main events - Triple H vs. John Cena vs. Randy Orton; and Undertaker vs. Edge - in the process of hyping himself up.
Hogan also suggests that Vince McMahon could be guest referee in what he describes as the "perfect match" with "The Nature Boy's" career at stake.
What do you think? Would Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair still be a draw? Would you pay to watch it? Leave a comment. Let us know.
Ric Flair conducted an interview with NZPWI.co.nz. Here's an excerpt from it:
âI see myself as being a spokesperson for this company, a spokesman for this wonderful organization. And I am already moving in to that role, doing these sorts of interviews, taking time to talk to people, to promote this amazing company.
Iâve been blessed with my career, and this company is, and I say this not just for PR to you in an interview, but I say this hand on heart, this company is second to none â literally second to none â in terms of marketing, strategy, knowing the way to sell.
And you know weâve just stepped it up with our High Definition shows now, everythingâs in HD, did you know?â

As everyone might expect, WrestleMania XXIV is expected to be the culmination of Ric Flair's retirement storyline and his final match in WWE.
So, who will the legend fight? Who will put an end to his career? Two names that have been discussed as possible opponents for Flair have been Mr. Kennedy and Shawn Michaels. Right now, HBK appears to be the leading candidate to be Flair's final opponent.
Do you agree with this decision? Wouldn't it be better to give someone like Kennedy the huge bump of ending Flair's career? We love Michaels, but the long-term interests of the WWE would lean toward a younger wrestling having the honor of defeating Flair.
