Torn Knee Will Sideline Rey Mysterio for Months

According to Dr. Ferdinand Rios of the WWE medical staff, Rey Mysterio has torn his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and patella tendon. The injury will force the agile Mysterio onto crutches for a few weeks and surgery will keep him out of action for months.

Rey Mysterio Inducted Into Mexican Hall of Fame

Rey Mysterio may not always receive the respect he deserves in the State - did he really get a fair shake as champion? - but those south of the border are aware of this star's accomplishments.

Tijuana, Mexico holds a special place for this WWE grappler: He's a native of the city AND it was the location of his first professional match. Prior to Friday’s live event there, the Mayor of Tijuana honored Mysterio by inducting him into a special fraternity.

“They honored me as for being an outstanding athlete and citizen of Tijuana,” Mysterio told WWE.com, “and for being someone who became a role model for the city. It’s like the Hall of Fame of Tijuana, and my uncle (Rey Mysterio, Sr.) is also in it as well. (The Hall) is in the main government building in Tijuana, so many people will walk by and see it; Myself, my friends and family can go always go back and see me in there as well.”

Mysterio left a mask and signed photograph as his Hall of Fame exhibit,. A few words summed up this Smackdown wrestler's feelings:
