Official Monday Night RAW Preview

It’s going to get even hotter in Corpus Christi, Texas when Raw invades the American Bank Arena Monday night. Here's the official preview, courtesy of WWE.com...

LashleyOn the last Raw before The Great American Bash, WWE Champion John Cena and No. 1 contender Bobby Lashley will be back under the same roof. While away from Raw last week, Cena appeared via satellite and promised to address Lashley in Corpus Christi. How will Cena react to being nearly broken in half on Raw two weeks ago by Lashley’s spear? What will The Champ have to say to his challenger as they head into their epic encounter at The Bash?

Another champion who will defend at The Bash is Women’s Champion Candice Michelle. The Candy-coated Diva has been on an amazing roll of late, which includes winning the title from Melina at Vengeance: Night of Champions. Will either Diva gain any advantage just days before they face off over the championship? Can Candice continue to prove herself to be the golden Diva of WWE, or will Melina’s desire propel her to the top once more?

One Raw Superstar who is at the top of his game is Randy Orton. The third-generation Superstar has time and time again cemented his place in history by dealing losses to any Legend he has encountered in the ring. This time, however, he may have angered the wrong Legend in “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes. The two will square off at The Great American Bash in a Texas Bull Rope Match, and how fitting it is that the last stop before The Bash is the Lone Star State. Who will carry the momentum heading into The Bash?

Find out the answers to all of these questions and more on Raw, Monday night at 9/8 CT on USA Network.

Lashley Steps Up: WWE RAW Results, 7-9-07

King Booker v. Bobby Lashley
The two locked it up and eventually ended up in the ropes. Of course our King fought back with punches and forearms after a dirty eye rake. The two exchanged some blows before Lashley caught Booker in a nasty power slam and assumed control of the match. Lashley hit some shoulder thrusts before bringing booker out to the middle of the ring and hitting a sit down gut buster for a near fall.

Lashley Beat Down Lashley connected with a suplex before going for another cover. Booker whipped Lashley to the ropes but found it quickly reversed and ended up eating a back elbow and yet again, Lashley almost scored a victory over the former World Champ. Booker came back looking for a back heel kick but Lashley quickly caught it and nailed the dominator. Lashley went for the cover but Booker kicked out miraculously.
Winner: Bobby Lashley via DQ

Lashley hit a standing vertical suplex before Kennedy showed up out of nowhere to cause the DQ. Booker and Lashley went to work on Lashley on the ropes much to the chagrin of the fans in attendance.

The beat down ceased when Coach’s music hit and he came out to the ramp. He said Lashley deserved a fighting chance. Coach said the main event would be Kennedy and Booker T against Lashley and a partner of his choosing. If Lashley couldn’t find a partner, he’d be in a handicapped match. After paying attention for a little while Booker went for some more cheap shots but ended up getting clotheslined to the floor by the Lash to end the segment.

William Regal was in the back before Coach came back to congratulate him on the job he did last week. Regal said his performance was a breath of fresh air. Regal and Coach started to get a little snippy with each other before Coach made a match with Regal and the Sandman. Regal called Sandman a maniac. Coach said for entertainment’s sake it’d be very very effective.

WWE Intercontinental Championship: Umaga v. Santino Marella

Marella looked like someone hit him with a truck. Marella hit a few punches before Umaga just picked him up and slammed him down like a coconut. Umaga hit some stomps and hit a nasty chop in the corner before following the fighting Italian around the ring and leaving him in a heap in the corner. Maria showed up pretty quickly to cheer on her hubby.

Umaga batted Marella around the ring some more before almost chopping his head into the upper deck. Umaga dropped a knee across Marella’s sternum before picking up his challenger and smashing him into the corner.

Marella staid plucky with some punches but Umaga was overwhelming. He hammered Marella back to the mat and choked him out on the bottom rope before hitting some hard shots to the chest in the corner. Umaga ‘talked’ with the official before whipping Marella hard to the buckle and making love to the crowd.

Marella looked like a gerbil that had been stepped on accidentally in the middle of the ring as Umaga went for the flying Harley Race like head butt off the middle rope. Umaga missed and Marella had a chance. He hit some drop kicks and got a one count. Marella looked like he might be gaining some momentum before he ate a crescent kick in the face. Umaga lined Marella up in the corner and beat him for fun before backing up and hitting the running back side to the face. Umaga hit the spike and that’s it. Let’s eat belts.
Winner and STILL Intercontinental Champion: Umaga via pin fall

Cade & Murdoch v. The Highlanders
Cade grabbed a headlock on Rory before being tossed off. Cade kept momentum in his favor, flat backing his foe with a shoulder block before going back to the hold. Cade hit a nice fireman’s carry take over before gloating a little bit for the crowd.

The two locked it up again before Rory hit a shot to the gut. The advantage was short lived though as he was bullied to the opposition corner and Murdoch tagged in. Murdoch grabbed a nice side headlock and worked over Rory on the mat. The hold evolved into a rear chin lock before the Highlander fought out and hit a nice jaw breaker. Robbie tagged in and hit some forearms and some drop kicks before trying to get the crowd behind him. Rory hit a flap jack before all hell broke loose. Eventually it ended up with Rory getting decapitated by the lariat-chop block combo behind the ref’s back. Three seconds later, this one’s in the books.
Winners: Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch via pin fall

Santino was in the back with Maria and she said she felt sorry about his match. Maria said the two could go out and have some fun. Santino said it was embarrassing to lose his title and he was scared of being looked at as just ‘the fan.’ Santino asked her if she could come to his hotel room and help him. Maria said they could watch a movie.

Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas were acting weird in the back and Haas was busting his chops about kissing Booker’s ring. Haas asked him if he wanted to kiss his hand as a birthday present. Shelton said if he lost tonight, he’d kiss Haas on the lips. Shelton left and Haas looked a little confused.

A video aired putting over the John Cena-Lashley match at the Great American Bash.

Snitsky v. Super Crazy
The two locked up before Crazy got flung across the ring by the huge Snitsky. Snitsky rammed Crazy into the corner and hit some forearms to the back of the head before putting the boots to the insane luchadore. Snitsky continued the beat down with some shots to the kidneys before setting up and hitting yet another Irish whip. Snitsky mauled Crazy with a pump handle slam and that’s all she wrote.
Winner: Snitsky via pin fall

A recap aired of the Randy Orton-Rhodes family encounter last week. Dusty Rhodes is on his way out to the ring to confront Randy Orton next!

Dusty Rhodes came out to his music and climbed up on the mic. He immediately called out Orton who came down to the ring. The two exchanged some words before Rhodes called him a disrespectful, snot nosed punk. Rhodes asked him if he was just going to stand there and look stupid.

Orton said he heard the legends speech a hundred times. Rhodes went nuts on Orton and told him it was much bigger than basic disrespect, it was disrespect to the people who built the business. Orton said people like Rhodes that lived off the past didn’t deserve respect. He said he gets respect for things he’s accomplished.

Rhodes asked him what made him such a bad boy. Orton said he was the youngest world champion in history. He also put over ending the careers of HBK and RVD. Rhodes said having a great match wasn’t what it was all about. When you kick someone in the head, it degraded everything the business was about.

Orton told Rhodes to put his money where his mouth was and challenged him to a match. Rhodes said he wouldn’t have even had to hear that out of Orton’s mouth to accept the challenge. Rhodes said he was in no shape to meet him at the Bash. Orton said if he wouldn’t do it for himself, he should do it for his son. Orton said he’d end Cody’s career before it even started if he had to.

Rhodes told him what he’d do. He said he would meet him at the Bash but on his terms. Rhodes said he would do the match, but it’d be a Texas Bull rope match. Orton accepted the challenge. Orton told Rhodes to tell his son to bring a broom to clean up whatever was left of him.

Great American Bash Main Event Set: WWE RAW Results, 7-2-07

The following report is courtesy of wrestleview.com...

Mr. Kennedy’s music hit and he came out to the ring. Kennedy’s got a pretty crazy look in his eye. He told us who he was and that he SHOULD be the WWE Champion. He said the reason he couldn’t be WWE Champion because he couldn’t cash in money in the bank. He blamed the people for making him compete when he wasn’t ready to. He said from this moment on, his actions will serve one man and only one man alone. He said that man would be the next WWE Champion and his name would be “MISTERRRRRR”. John Cena’s music hit and out came the champion.

Cena came in to the usual mixed reaction. He said it was the usual Monday night Raw except for this ‘new guy.’ He extended his hand and welcomed him to the show. He said he couldn’t remember who he was. He said he remembered him as the guy with the microphone and then called him “Mr. Camel Toe”. These two have some pretty fantastic chemistry.

Cena said he heard a rumor that Kennedy liked to talk….. A lot. He said the rumor was that he was a big mouth. He told Kennedy to look around him, that this was Monday Night Raw and anything could happen on this show. He said sometimes all men had to stand on was their word. He said Kennedy blamed the fans and asked them if they were to blame. Of course they said nothing. Cena called him Kenney G., Colostomy bag, etc. Cena said Kennedy’s word was worthless and he didn’t trust him. Cena said there was one person responsible for throwing away the biggest moment in WWE history and that was “Mr dflkjdfqwerklj.”

King Booker’s music hit and he started giving us a ‘bravo.’ Bookah said he was the only one royal enough to challenge Cena. Booker called us peasants. He is right. He put over his undefeated record against Cena in the champion of champions match as well as making Cena kiss his feet. Booker said on this day (royal proclamation coming in five seconds) he proclaimed a challenge to Cena for the WWE Championship.

Randy Orton’s music hit and he came out as well. Orton said since both were new to Raw and not that bright, that he would explain how things work on Raw. Orton said he had been around for a while on Raw and said he never had a one on one championship match with John Cena. He said these idiots could talk all they wanted, no one DESERVED a title shot more on the roster than him.

Lashley came out talking about cold, hard facts. Kennedy lost the MITB he said. Booker and Orton had lost their titles in the past. He never LOST his title and he wanted to take the title from Cena. Cena said they’d have to do something about that.

William Regal came out to the ramp and said he was in charge of Raw because Coach was on holiday. He said after tonight, we would have a #1 contender and a contract signing in the ring. It’s going to be ‘beat the clock.’ All five men would compete in singles matches and whomever won his match in the quickest time would compete for the WWE Championship at the Great American Bash against John Cena.

Beat the Clock #1: Randy Orton v. Jeff Hardy The two locked up and Orton grabbed a side headlock. Orton immediately went for a pin. Hardy snagged a roll up but Orton quickly kicked out and hit a drop kick to send Jeff to the outside. Orton went for another cover and again Jeff kicked out.Orton charged Hardy and Hardy avoided him and back dropped him to the floor before hitting a baseball slide drop kick and a flying body press to the outside. Hardy went for a cover of his own and only got a two count. Orton reversed an Irish whip but no one was home. Hardy turned around only to get lambasted with a lariat that turned into turn near falls.

Hardy connected with the mule kick before hitting his sling shot double drop kick in the corner. Hardy almost got a three count but couldn’t quite hold down Orton’s shoulders. Hardy hit an inverted suplex and looked for the Swanton but Orton rolled out of harm’s way. Orton snapped Hardy’s neck off the top rope and got another two count.Orton looked for a whip but got nailed with whisper to the wind. Orton barely kicked out at two before Hardy looked for the twist of fate. Orton countered into the RKO and that is all she wrote.
Winner: Randy Orton via pin fall at 7:06

Women’s Champion Candice Michelle is going to be a guest commentator.

Melina v. Maria
Maria hit a Thesz press only to get nailed with a lariat after getting up. Melina picked up Maria and connected with a giant spin before Melina grabbed Maria’s head and ground it into the mat. Melina did her surfboard with the hair in hand before booting Maria in the face. Maria fought back with some kicks before Melina hit some vicious blows to the back of the head. Melina slapped on a pseudo-guillotine choke before just slamming Maria around the ring. Maria connected with some nice knees to the gut and a fun standing bulldog.

Maria bullied Melina to the corner and went for her ten punches. Things were going well until Melina slammed Maria’s head off the buckles. She connected with her split legged leg drop for the win.
Winner: Melina via pin fall

A video package aired of Triple H undergoing surgery. Looks like he may be back quicker than planned.Dusty Rhodes is in the back with Dusty Rhodes and his son Cody Rhodes. Randy Orton popped up and asked Dusty Rhodes to introduce him to his son. He said someday he’d be like him and said Cody may be better than Dusty. Cody told him to lay off his father. Dusty said Randy was being a little disrespectful. Randy mocked the disrespectful thing and slapped Dusty in the face. Cody wanted to mix it up but it didn’t go to well.

Maria was in the back icing her neck. Santino checked on her and Maria thanked her for his concern but said she was really more concerned about him. She asked him to be careful. Santino said that people didn’t think he should be champion and don’t take him seriously. He said he needed to prove his worth. He give her a big kiss on the lips and said good bye.

Umaga WWE Intercontinental Championship: Santino Marella v. Umaga
Santino went right at Umaga but was easily tossed aside before Umaga decided to yell for a little while. The crowd now pops for Umaga flip outs. Beautiful. Santino avoided a diving head butt and hit a low drop kick to send Umaga to the outside. Umaga dragged Santino from the middle rope and threw Marella like a lawn dart into the announce table.

Umaga had fun with the ring post before tossing Marella back into the ring. Umaga screamed at the crowd and the crowd responded fondly again before Umaga began chopping Marella into steak tips. Marella avoided a splash in the corner and began connecting with some big kicks. He went for a cover but was tossed hard to the outside. Marella looked for the high cross body block but Umaga caught him and drilled him with a Samoan Drop. Umaga began punching away in the corner before lining up Marella in the corner and hitting the running bump butt which he connected with. Umaga picked up Marella and hit the spike for the easy win.
Winner and NEW Intercontinental Champion: Umaga via pin fall

Beat the Clock #2: King Booker v. Val Venis Val got tossed aside by book before eating a kick to the face. Booker got a near fall before hitting some chops and elbows to Venis’ face. Val countered out of a suplex attempt and hit a back drop suplex of his own for a two count.Val came bounding off the ropes only to get hammered with a clothesline from our king for yet another near fall. Booker tossed Val into the ring post before the King gathered him and went for an MMA style arm bar. Venis made it to the ropes before Book got on top of Val and hit some mean blows to his chest. Book looked for the suplex and it ended up looking more like a brain buster. We got another near fall before Val fought back once more only to get hammered with a reverse elbow from the King.

WWE RAW Rating: A Slight Improvement

This week's edition of WWE RAW posted either a 4.1 or 4.2 rating.

WWE officials were pleased with the rating and view it as evidence that the Vince McMahon death storyline was a good move.

However, because the rating was not an absolute slam dunk, others are reportedly waiting to see how viewership holds up over the next few weeks before assessing the success of the angle.

Ridiculous Vince McMahon Storyline Continues: WWE RAW Results, 6-18-07

Adam B. sent along the following report on last night's WWE RAW...

- After Mick Foley kicked off the show by apologizing to the McMahon family, Randy Orton interrupted him and accused the former star of killing Vince.

Then, one by one King Booker and Bobby Lashley entered the ring with some high tension. Shortly after, there was more chaos as John Cena' s music hit. Cena addressed that there is no need to point the finger at anyone and that it is being sought out by a full-throttle investigation. King Booker was then thrown down by Lashley and Orton and Booker fled the ring,

The Coach was next to come out and he declared then tonight it would be Randy Orton and King Booker taking on Lashley and John Cena. He also announced that Mick Foley would have his returning match against Umaga.

WWE Action - Paul London and Brian Kendrick defeated The Worlds Greatest Tag team, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin, in a well fought match.
- Melina and Jillian Hall defeat Candice Michelle and Mickie James
- Umaga defeats Mick Foley by annihilating him with the steel steps.
- Randy Orton and King Booker defeat Bobby Lashley and John Cena. Randy Orton executed the RKO to win it.

- Also in the show, Carlito came out talking about how cool Mr. Mcmahon was, but was interrupted by the Sandman. Carlito booked it out of the ring before Sandman attacked him.
- Mr. Kennedy visited the ring and told the fans that he did not like them because they were disrespectful. The crowd booed.

- To end RAW, Stephanie McMahon arrived in a white limousine and declared that there would be vengeance for whoever caused the death of Mr. McMahon. She then said I miss you dad, or I love you dad. Like it matters. It's despicable that they are doing this, faking the death of Mr. McMahon. I'm sorry, but it's just awful.

WWE RAW Previous: Tasteless Vince McMahon Angle Continues

Here is the preview from WWE.com of tonight's Raw:

At the end of Raw last week, Mr. McMahon was presumed killed in a horrific limo explosion — a moment that will forever taint what was otherwise an historic WWE Draft. As Raw heads into the Coliseum in Richmond, Va. this Monday night, its Superstars must cope with the fact that WWE’s Chairman is for all intents gone, his body seemingly lost in the flames that engulfed his limousine.

It’s hard to focus past the black cloud that has encircled World Wrestling Entertainment all week long. No one will speak ill of the deceased, though it was apparent after last week’s “Mr. McMahon Appreciation Night” that many of WWE’s Superstars, our fans and numerous celebrities saw him as a pathetic, power-mad dictator. But now that he’s gone, what exactly does he leave behind? And how will it affect Raw’s Superstars in Richmond this Monday night?

As for the WWE Draft itself, last week Raw said goodbye to The Great Khali, Torrie Wilson, Chris Masters and Ric Flair; however Raw also welcomed its newest Superstars to the roster: King Booker, Queen Sharmell, Snitsky, Mr. Kennedy and Bobby Lashley.

Needless to say, all will have a profound impact on Raw in the coming weeks. However, Lashley — who was stripped of his ECW World Title after being randomly selected in the Draft — is planning to make his mark a little quicker than the rest. He had already established a strong Raw presence during his rivalry with Mr. McMahon over the past few months; does he have an advantage over the other “newcomers” as they enter the Richmond Coliseum this Monday?

In the ashes of tragedy, life begins anew on Raw, Monday night at 9/8 CT on USA Network.

He says that we'll see numerous people who have crossed paths with him, and that tonight is one of the most important nights of his career.

The show starts, and JR and King, along with Michael Cole and JBL, and Tazz and Joey Styles announce that tonight will have interpromotional matches, and the winners will win a draft pick for their brand.

Cena hits a drop toe hold, and goes for the STFU, but Edge wriggles out. Edge hits another hard shot to Cena, and again gets a two count. Edge begins working on Cena with rights, but Cena kicks him in the gut, and then hits a blockbuster. Both men struggle up, and Cena hits two shoulder blocks, and a back suplex. Cena goes for the five knuckle shuffle, but Edge jumps up and tries for the spear. Cena dodges, and Edge goes to the outside. Cena follows, and goes for the FU from the steps to the announce table. Edge fights out, and pushes Cena into the table. Edge then quickly gets back in the ring for the win by count-out.
Your Winner: Edge

Edge/Cena Smackdown wins the first draft pick, thanks to Edge, and Khali is drafted to the Friday night show. Khali comes out and stares at Edge, who has a look of regret and fear on his face.

We hear that Jesse "The Body" Ventura will speak next for Mr. McMahon Appreciation Night as we go to a commercial.

We come back from commercial to a video package of Vince's rise to the top of the wrestling world. After the video, another video is shown with Jesse Ventura, who says that "Mister" is a title he only uses with few people (such as the people that trained him in the military), and Vince isn't one of them. He will call him "McMahon". He says that Vince has been remarkable, just like dictators. He calls Vince a dictator, and says that all dictators will fall.

Carlito vs. CM Punk
We start with a collar eblow tie up. CM Punk gets the upper hand with a nice kick to the head, and some knees. Punk then gets Carlito into the corner and goes for the knee lift, but Carlito catches him. Punk fights out, knocks Carlito down, and goes for a move off the middle rope. Carlito catches Punk in midair with a dropkick. Carlito now works on the ribs of CM Punk, and gets a near fall. Carlito then locks in a body scissors. Punk manages to grab Carlito's legs and locks in a Boston Crab, which Carlito breaks by getting to the ropes. Punk gets the upper hand, and hits a flying clothesline from the top, but only gets a two count. Punk then hits a standing clothesline for another two count. CM Punk hits some knees, then gets the running knee lift in the corner, but Carlito counters the bulldog with a Backstabber. CM Punk rolls to the outside, but Carlito gets him back for a near fall. Carlito goes for another Backstabber, but Punk reverses it into a GTS for the win.

ECW gets a draft pick now, and it's Boogeyman, much to Punk's enjoyment. Boogeyman comes outand does his dance, while CM Punk looks happy and disturbed at the same time.
Your Winner: CM Punk

Snoop Dogg is shown on a video saying thanks to Vince for making wrestling a spectacle. He also does a shout out to Cena and Stone Cold Steve Austin. He also mentions Vince getting his face shoved in Big Show's Backside. Snoop says to keep it raw as we go to break.

After the break we get a quick recap of the drafts so far, and then we get another video package of Vince, this one showing Vince's evil side, especially his love for firing people, his win of the Royal Rumble, and the Montreal Screwjob.

After video, Mick Foley's music hits, and the hardcore legend comes out to the stage with a mic. A "Foley" chant breaks out. Mick says that Coach's words do little for him, except his mention of an open WWE championship match, and that Foley himself is a 3 time champ. Since he's been rehired, Mick says that he's a member of Raw and that he'll be a part of the open WWE championship match at Vengeance. Speaking of Vengeance, Mick takes some time to mention Vince McMahon. He says Vince has effected everyone watching, everyone in attendance, and everyone in the back. He says Vince has the power to save the world, but has only followed through in a limited capacity.

He is a super patriot, but is also an egomaniac. He poses the question of Vince having any real friends. He asks those of us watching and those in attendance if Vince has any real friends. He reads off a list of people who were approached for McMahon appreciation night including Hogan, HHH, HBK, Bischoff, the Rock, Trish Stratus, and others, with mixed reactions for some and huge pops for others. He says that all of them declined, and that they don't appreciate Vince, and asks if any of us should appreciate Vince. He says "Have a Nice Day." and we go to a break.

Balls Mahoney vs. Umaga

Balls is quickly taken off his feet with a kick to the face. Umaga picks him up, and hits the Samoan spike for the win, and Raw's first draft pick in the form of King Booker.
Your Winner: Umaga

We come back with a video of Steve-O thanking Vince for all the entertainment. He then recites a little poem he wrote, and says that Vince is the man. Back in the arena, Lashley's music hits to a rather large pop. Tonight, though, the ECW champ has to take on the Rabid Wolverine, Chris Benoit.

Bobby Lashley vs. Chris Benoit
The two men size each other up with a staredown, and this match gets underway with a takedown by Lashley, but Benoit manages to get a front facelock on Lashley, but gets a spinebuster for his trouble. Lashley and Benoit have a nice exchange in the ametuer style, and Benoit locks in an armlock with a body scissors, but Lashley fights out. Benoit hits some knees to the mid section, and a chop. Benoit gets the upper hand, and hits a suplex. Lashley tries to fight back with a torture rack backbreaker, but Benoit fights out and goes for the cross face, but Lashley fights out, and hits a torture rack backbreak for a two count. Lashley throws Benoit into the corner, and hits a shoulderblock, but Benoit soon counters an attack and locks in the Cross Face. Lashley uses the ropes to break the hold, and Benoit then goes for the Sharpshooter. Lashley reverses, and tries to power Benoit up, but Benoit reverses into a German Suplex, two, and the trifecta. Benoit locks in the Sharpshooter, but Lashley powers out. After an exchange, Lashley powers Benoit up and hits the Dominator for the win and ECW's next draft pick...Chris Benoit. The two men stare each other down, and shake hands.
Your Winner: Bobby Lashley

A video is seen of Donald Trump bashing Vince, and recapping Vince getting shaved bald at Wrestlemania. Trump says maybe he'll have his own appreciation night, and wishes Vince luck on his appreciation night for himself.

After a break Ashley shows up on the Titantron. She thanks Vince for creating the Diva Search and giving her the chance to join the WWE. She expresses regret over spilling coffee on Vince last week on Smackdown, and being suspended. She also mentions Vince relationship with the WWE Divas, and talks about the time Vince made Trish bark like a dog back in 2001. Ashley says that Vince likes that, so he'll get that tonight, but from two divas instead. The music of Fabulous Moola and Mae Young hits, and the two old women come out and start walking around on all fours and barking like dogs...just disturbing...that's all I can really say. We go to a commercial with the promise of MVP vs Santino Marella next.

Santino Marella vs MVP
The match starts with Marella attempting a take down, but he gets gutwrenched by MVP. Marella gets a nice throw, and an armdrag. MVP gets the advantage with a nice clothesline for a two count. Marella hits a heel trip, but only gets a two count. MVP gets the upper hand, and after some offense, hits the Reverse Neckbreaker for the win, giving Smackdown the draft pick of Torrie Wilson.
Your Winner: MVP

After the break a video is shown of Bret Hart. He says that it's hard to find the words to express his appreciation for Vince. He says he knows there's no good words to show it, but the best way to show appreciation is a right hand in the jaw, or two, or three, or forty or fifty. And that's all he has to say about that.Continue Reading...

WWE RAW Rating Improves

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that the 6/4 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw drew a final 3.8 cable rating. This is up from last week's 3.3 rating, which was down due to the Memorial Day holiday.

This is also up from the 3.7 rating the show drew two weeks ago.

One Night Stand Fallout: WWE Raw Results, 6-4-07

The following report is courtesy of lordsofpain.net...

The show begins with the crowd popping for the music of the Champ, John Cena. He makes his way to the ring, holding the spinner belt high in celebration of his victory over the Great Khali. He grabs the mic, and this crowd isn't as pro-Cena as originally thought.

Cena says this right here, all of this, is what he loves about this business. Look around, from the fat guy telling him he sucks, to the hot girl wearing a shirt two sizes too small, to Wade Boggs in the front row. It's action, intensity, and noise. Tonight, though, it seems louder to Cena. He says maybe because after six weeks of getting beat down, he finally told the Punjabi Frankenstein "FU." He says now, after all that, they spring the draft on him. He mentions how he was drafted from Smackdown to Raw. After what happened last night, if he gets drafted to Smackdown, or to ECW, and tonight is the last night he stands in the ring for Monday Night Raw, he's going to stand and take it all in, and if this is how it ends, let it be said one more time: "The Champ is here." Cena is interrupted by "No Chance" as a limping, sour looking Vince McMahon makes his way to the ring. No strut tonight; just a slow, sickly walk.

McMahon says he knows why Cena is here, to embarass him. McMahon says Cena is here to remind the people that Vinnie Mac is no longer a world champion. Vince says he will not bend, bow, or break; his name is Vincent Kennedy McMahon. Cena says Vince is just tired and upset after losing last night; that Vince is delusional and emotional. A staredown ensues, and Cena tells Vince the only thing keeping Vince from being crushed is Cena's patience. Vince says he hasn't lost a thing; not his empire, money, or dignity. The only thing he's lost is his world title, which is exactly what Cena is going to do tonight. Vince challenges Cena to defend his title in a triple threat match, against Umaga and the Great Khali. Vice smiles and leaves the ring slowly, looking like a psychopath, as Cena looks on in disbelief.
Candice Flies Cryme Tyme w/Candice Michelle vs. Kenny, Nitro, and Melina
The women start fighitng before the bell even rings, so both teams seperate them. The bell rings, and its JTG and Kenny in the ring. Detailed Monday Night Raw Report

Adam Lebow sent in the following notes from the WWE tapings in Toronto to wrestleview.com:

- Melina gets the biggest pop of all the divas, Mickie James was second but not close.

- We get a One Night Stand promo for Cena vs. Khali, then out come The Hardys to a very solid pop. Behind Edge but ahead of Benoit. Cade/Murdoch are heeled on.

- Haas and Benjamin got a bigger good pop than Cade and Murdoch, crowd is into them, but lots of heat for Nitro's intro.

- Promo for World's Greatest Managers and for WrestleMania 24.

- During the John Cena promo, all boos and Cena chants.

- Crowd is behind Randy Orton during his promo, but pro-RVD during intro. Crowd is split between RVD and Orton, with some smart fans chanting TNA, you sold out and thank you Van Dam. People in my section didn't know RVD was leaving.

- Out comes Maria post Umaga/Khali/McMahon promo, for kiss cam. During kiss cam, two times they had girls make out and during the second time, a fan pulled down the girls tank top revealing both her breasts in full view. The crowd popped big for this, one of the biggest pops of the night, but the guy got the boot.

- Major heel heat and Cena sucks chants, more so than when they were here for the PPV in the fall. The hottest this crowd has been all night is during the Raw main event.
