Live Notes from Monday Night Raw

Thanks to reader Adam B. for sending in the following Monday Night RAW report...

I attended Monday Night RAW in Boston and it was a great show. Here are some notes that the camera didnt catch:

  • Before it went live on air, they had HEAT matches that featured The Highlanders, Mickie James, Jillian, and others such as Snitsky.
  • Entering the arena the most popular chant was "Woooo" or "Kennnnnedy."
  • Jim Ross and Jerry the King came out before they went on air and got a standing ovation.
  • Loudest cheers: John Cena, Cryme Time, HHH, Jeff hardy, Kennedy, Mr McMahon.
  • Randy Orton got some cheers. Orton or Booker led with most boos, but weren't many overall.

SummerSlam Fallout: WWE RAW Results, 8-27-07

The following report is courtesy of lordsofpain.net...

We begin with a review of last night's stunning win by John Cena over Randy Orton, with Cena retaining the coveted WWE Championship. After the recap, Orton's music hits, and the 3rd generation superstar is on his way down to the ring with quite a sour look on his face. Orton walks into the ring and grabs the mic. Orton says he spent the whole day in church, because he witnessed a miracle last night when Cena walked out the Champ again.

He says he had an epiphany... he had the match won, he should be champ, but the guy who needs to be praying isn't RKO, but John Cena... John Cena should thank God for what happened last night. John Cena should thank God that his career isn't over, because next time, he won't be so lucky. Orton demands a rematch. The crowd is split on cheers and boos here. Orton calls out Cena to either accept his challenge, or... Cena's music hits before Randy tells us what Cena's other option was. The Champ is here! Cena makes his way down to the ring, hugging his father at ringside. Cena holds up the belt, and it's mostly cheers, with some audible boos. Cena makes fun of Orton for asking for a rematch. He says "rematch, or what? You gonna stay out and whine all night?" Cena says Orton couldn't get the job done last night. With all the talk of killing legends and being a third generation superstar, at Summerslam, with everything on the line, and everything in his favor, Randy Orton still failed to get the job done. Cena said no hard feelings, because Randy has made a statement the past few weeks. Cena has a statement of his own: "The Champ is Here!"

Cena says Orton knows better than this; Orton lost, so other people move up. One man made his return last night, and that man might deserve a title shot first. He then gets a pop from the crowd for shouting out for the Boston crowd, saying tonight, the WWE Title is on the line: John Cena vs. TRIPLE H! This is what the people want. William Regal's music hits, and he says that Cena will not be facing Triple H tonight. Orton won't be facing Cena either. Although Cena isn't facing Triple H or Cena tonight, but another man of majestic stature: King Booker! Booker's music hits, and the King and Queen of Raw enter. Cena looks frustrated. Orton goes for the RKO on a distracted Cena, but Cena moves out of the way and Orton falls out of the ring. Cena smiles as King Booker leaves, and Orton fumes on his way up the ring, embarrassed and angry.

picture-1.jpg Mr. Kennedy v. Jeff Hardy
The two competitors square off with a tie-up. Hardy gets in a headlock, but Kennedy battles him to the corner, and they are seperated by the ref. The square off again with a tie-up, and once again Kennedy puts Hardy in the corner. A cheapshot by both men, and Jeff slaps Kennedy so hard he falls and crawls do the other corner. Back to his feet, Kennedy approaches Hardy and delivers punches and kicks to Hardy's face and midsection. The crowd is behind Hardy like crazy. Hardy puts Kennedy down with an aerial takedown. Another tie-up, and Kennedy knees Hardy, putting him down, into the turnbuckle, and then kicking Hardy several times. Hardy starts scrapping back, throwing closed fists and kicks, putting Kennedy into the ground of the corner. Kennedy gets back up, charges Hardy, but Hardy moves and Kennedy flies over the top rope and lands standing on the apron. Hardy dropkicks Kennedy in the shins sending Kennedy to the outside. Jeff then hits a baseball slide, and as soon as Kennedy gained his bearings on the outside, Jeff lands a plancha over the ropes onto Kennedy on the outside.

We're back with Kennedy in control with Hardy in a leg-vice. Hardy elbows his way out of it, but Kennedy throws Hardy into the ringpost. Kennedy hops outside, and torques Hardy's body around the ringpost. Kennedy gets back in and stomps a mudhole into a Hardy. Kennedy with a 2 count, and continues to work on Jeff. Hardy fires back, but catches a knee from Kennedy, and another near-fall by Kennedy. An abdominal stretch by Kennedy has Hardy screaming in pain, as Kennedy grabs the ropes for leverage. The ref catches it, but Kennedy takes his hand away. Hardy twists out of it, but catches a slam into the top turnbuckle, and is now in the tree of woe. Kennedy lifts Hardy up to the ropes, and gets behind him.

Hardy elbows Kennedy off the top rope, and then catches MASSIVE air on a whisper in the wind. Hardy with a russian leg sweep, then gets a pin combination for a 2 count. Hardy now in control, clotheslining Kennedy and slamming his head into the turnbuckle. Hardy with a double stomp on Kennedy, and he calls for the Swanton. Kennedy counters the Swanton by putting his knees up. That looked sick. As soon as Kennedy covers Hardy, Umaga's music hits! Kennedy gets out of the ring, looking at Umaga. Umaga lifts up Jeff Hardy and then stares off at Kennedy. Umaga then hits Hardy with a superkick to the face, and begins assaulting Jeff Hardy. Buttsmash and Samoan Spike on Hardy. Kennedy leaves in disbelief as Umaga goes nuts in the ring over a knocked out Hardy.
Your Winner: No Contest

Carlito says this is the coolest Cabana in history, and announces the Chairman, Mr. McMahon. "No Chance" hits and out comes Vinnie-Mac. VKM grabs the mic and says it's a pleasure to be on the Cabana. Carlito tells Vince "Happy belated Birthday." Vince says he turned 50 last week, and he's still growing - even his grapefruits. Vince says he realized that he doesn't need to be embarassed about his son, because he's Vince McMahon. He cannot be intimidated. Vince says he's going to sue the woman who is claiming this paternity suit if she doesn't turn over the name in 2 weeks. He will not be intimidated by her, or anyone else in the arena tonight. Suddenly, TRIPLE H'S MUSIC HITS! THE GAME IS BACK ON RAW!

Triple H makes his way to the ring amidst the loudest pop of the night. Vince tells the crowd to shut up, asking HHH what he's doing out there. Triple H asks him why he's giving him such a bad reaction. HHH says Vince has alot to worry about. Turning 75, worrying about crapping his pants, and this bastard son of his. HHH says on his time off, he searched the globe and found four women, who he has brought here tonight. HHH says Vince won't remember them very well, because it has been so long. The first is the woman that Vince had at Wrestlemania 3, thinking that she was Aretha Franklin. A giant black woman walks out. The next is the woman that Vince was with for many years, but hasn't seen her since he missed the target years ago. A lady with an eye-patch, One-Eyed Wendy walks out. HHH says Vince hit a hole in one. Vince says it was an accident that he poked her in the eye. The next woman is Carlito's sister. A lady walks out looking alot like Carlito, holding an apple. Carlito looks angry, and starts yelling in Spanish. Vince apologizes to Carlito, that Carlito was only 4 years old. HHH asks what gives, because Carlito's sister doesn't spit. The final woman comes out, HHH welcomes out "Francis," who everyone else knows as "Frank."

A transvestite walks out. HHH tells Vince not to look so upset. HHH asks them to raise their hands if they have had intimate relations with VKM. All four raise hands. HHH asks them to raise their hands if they have a child by VKM. One-Eye and Carlito's sister raise their hands. HHH says "now raise your hands if you have a penis," and the "Francis/Frank" raises his/her hand. VKM kicks all the women out. HHH says Vince is being mean, and that he should be worrying about his new problems. Vince asks "what new problems?" HHH says its all over the media. Vince is running an illegal rooster fighting ring. HHH says Vince hates animals, and that PETA is outside, waiting for him. A hilarious exchange happens quickly, with HHH naming animals that Vince hates, with Vince saying that he loves them. HHH finally names "cocks," to which Vince responds that he loves cocks. Vince realizes what he said, looks at HHH, says he hates him, and wishes he never came back. Vince leaves looking worried. Carlito pulls HHH around and says that he needs to respect the boss, or he'll put him on the shelf for another 8 months. HHH says he knows Carlito is upset, but he's a tough guy. He can spit apples and ...suck grapefruits. Carlito chews an apple up and spits it in HHH's face. Triple H wipes it away, smiles, and knocks Carlito down with a single blow to the head. Carlito is put into the ropes, and a HHH hits a spinebuster. Crotch-chop, Pedigree, and Carlito is down and out. Triple H sits on the beach chair, sips a coconut drink, and then gets back up to take in the cheers as the crowd cheers loudly.

World's Greatest Tag Team and Daivari v. Cody Rhodes, London, and Kendrick
London starts off against Daivari. Daivari in control with a bodyslam, but London recovers and takes in Kendrick. Double-team armdrag by London and Kendrick. Kendrick knocked down by an elbow to the sternum by Daivari, who tags in Haas. Haas with a huge belly to belly suplex on Kendrick. Kendrick gets his foot on the rope during a pin attempt, so Haas tags in Shelton. Shelton with a two count, and tags in Daivari. Daivari works on Kendrick, but misses an atomic drop when Kendrick flips over and dives to tag in Cody. Cody takes control, and hits a massive powerslam. A pin cover for 2 brings all teams in the ring. London and Kendrick throw Shelton and Haas over the top rope to the outside, and then do a double crossbody over the ropes, taking out WGTT. Daivari tries to put Cody into the corner, but Cody hits a back elbow, staggering Daivari. Cody gets to the top rope and hits a big cross-body for the win!
Your Winners: Cody Rhodes, London, and Kendrick

Final Summerslam Hype: WWE RAW Results, 8-20-07

The following report is courtesy of wrestleview.com...

Randy Orton’s music hit and he talked about the "beginning of the end for John Cena." Soon, though the music of the WWE Chairman hit and down came Vince McMahon.

Vince took the mic and started talking about the paternity suit. He said he found out today that his offspring was male and that someone on the roster was his son, probably someone of superior genetic makeup. He said he hoped his son would be like Orton and if he didn’t know Randy’s dad like he does, he’d be happy and proud to call Orton his son. He said he hoped his new son wasn’t like either one of his current offspring.

Orton the hightailed it out to the ringside area when Cena came down. Cena came out and cut off McMahon and told him the people as well as himself didn’t like Vince. Vince said nothing like that mattered. He said McMahon would shame him if he were his father. Cena said he was here tonight and his message was that he’ll be at Summerslam on Sunday and he’ll keep his title.

Vince said Cena might be lying. He said he might not be there and if he doesn’t show up, he’ll strip him of the WWE Championship. He said speaking of stripping, he would bring up Cena’s mother. He said in all likelihood, he could’ve done his mother. Cena decked Vince sending him reeling to the outside. Orton tended to McMahon as the two backed off and backed up the ramp. Vince said if Cena wanted action so bad, he would get it. He said he’d be in the ring tonight against Snitsky.

Cena looked concerned while Orton stared him down from the top of the ramp.

Mickie James & Candice Michelle v. Melina & Beth Phoenix
Before the match started, William Regal’s music hit and he came out to the ramp. He said we’d get a battle royal at Summerslam with every Diva in the WWE except for Candice Michelle. That’s because she’ll get the winner, who’ll get a future title shot against her.

divas.jpg Beth Phoenix started the match with Mickie and made her, um, her woman. Beth missed a splash attempt in the corner until Candice came in and hit a bunch of drop kicks and a spinning lariat on Melina for a two count. Candice connected with a northern lights suplex before laying Phoenix out with a big boot. Melina came charging at her only to get rolled up for a quick three count.
Winners: Candice Michelle & Mickie James via pin fall

William Regal was in the back before Santino stormed into the office. He said Regal was a home wrecker. Regal asked him just to stay away. Santino said he thought Regal’s accent made him sound limp wrested before declaring that he was going to look for a cappuccino.

Vince and Coach were conversing in the back before Coach asked him whether or not Triple H was his son. The agreed it probably wasn’t before running across Val Venis. Coach said it would explain a lot, about both if his son were indeed, Val. They continued on their stroll down the hallway only to come across a jovial Daivari who put his head dress on Vince who wasn’t amused. They walked along some more before Vince and Mr. Kennedy had a long stare down before continuing on and to commercial.

Cody Rhodes v. Shelton Benjamin

The two exchanged mat based moves before Shelton gained the advantage with some punches before slapping on a rear chin lock. Shelton broke the hold in rather short order, sending Cody off the ropes and hammering him with shots to the small of the back.

After jaw jacking for a little while, Shelton looked for the shot again but Cody nailed him with an elbow to the face. Body jumped on Shelton like a pit bull, hitting a clothesline and some drop kicks. Cody nailed a bulldog shortly thereafter for a two count. Cody hit the Dusty punches before Shelton caught him in a nasty inverted back breaker. Shelton went for a Boston crab but Cody was able to hit a roll up for the win.
Winner: Cody Rhodes via pin fall

Cade & Murdoch v. London & Kendrick
Kendrick and Cade started things off as Kendrick used his speed to his advantage to toss Cade around. Both hit a speedy double forearm that got London a one count.

Cade decked London before tagging in Murdoch. Murdoch came bull charging at London only to get arm dragged in short order. London hit a spring board cross-body block for a two count before eating a Murdoch back elbow. Murdoch tagged Cade in who bullied London to the corner and hit a hard Irish whip before London killed him with a back elbow. All hell broke loose and it ended with Kendrick and London hitting a tandem drop kick and a crazy suicida to the floor.

Just as they were all laid out on the floor, Cryme Tyme showed up and stole Murdoch’s hat and tried to sell it to the crowd. That easily distracted Cade and allowed Brian Kendrick to sneak in and grab a crucifix pin fall victory.
Winners: London & Kendrick via pin fall

Queen Sharmell is in the ring and she’s ready to introduce our King, King Booker. Booker ran down the coronation last week and how he took care of “Jerome” Lawler. A replay showed and Book said that wasn’t a video of someone who was scared. Booker said due to Jerry’s disrespect, the crowning never happened. He said though, he was a little happy that it didn’t happen last week, because he was going to give it all to the fans tonight. He said not only that, but Triple H would be the one who placed the crown on his head.

“King of Kings” hit and the crowd went banana cakes. A mock Triple H walked through the curtain. The nose rules. The fake Triple H crowned Book and bowed to him. Book told him he knew he was reasonable and he would make Triple H bow down to him at Summerslam.

Carlito’s Cabana
Carlito’s guest tonight is Umaga. This will be conversational. Umaga just sort of wandered around and tried to eat some plastic fruit. Umaga found the barrels of apples and just sort of wandered around while Carlito challenged him to a match at Summerslam for the IC title. Umaga stared at him before Mr. Kennedy interrupted the fun.

Kennedy asked him if he had any idea of who he was talking to. He said that man was a two time IC Champion and should be treated as such. He said he bulldozed through all the competition. Kennedy said he himself had done something that Umaga couldn’t do and that was beat Bobby Lashley. He said he took him out and the way he saw it, if there was anyone who deserved a shot at Umaga, it was him.

He did his Kennedy thing in Carlito’s face before Umaga cold cocked him, trashed the place, ate his belt and went up the ramp. William Regal came out and said there would only be one way to decide who would get “Umanga” at Summerslam. He told neither guy to go anywhere, because it’s on next.

Monday Night RAW Preview

Here is the preview for WWE Monday Night Raw from WWE.com:

As Raw heads into North Carolina’s Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, it is clear that Randy Orton will do anything to weaken John Cena before their showdown over the WWE Championship at SummerSlam. Just a little more than a week before the Biggest Party of the Summer, the Legend Killer sent Cena and all WWE a message when he attacked The Champ from behind on Saturday Night’s Main Event and flattened him with a thunderous RKO on a steel chair.

What is Cena’s condition going into Raw, with SummerSlam less than a week away? And will Orton send the WWE Champion yet another painful message?

The identity of the WWE Superstar who is Mr. McMahon’s illegitimate child remains unknown as Jonathan Coachman appeared unable to get to the bottom of the mystery on Saturday Night’s Main Event. The Chairman has rejected Eugene, Melina and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin as his potential love children. Will there be new developments this Monday in the billionaire’s quest to find out which Superstar could be the fruit of the McMahon family tree?

Also, with the matchup for kingly supremacy announced, how will King Booker prepare to face the returning 10-time World Champion, Triple H, at SummerSlam? Can Booker and Queen Sharmell scheme a way to hold onto their royal Raw kingdom?

Finally, with the big Dating Game date between Ron Simmons and Maria scheduled, will the jealous Santino Marella find a way to throw an Italian-sized kink in the game-show machinations of Raw General Manager William Regal?

Who's Your Baby? WWE RAW Results, 8-13-07

The following report is courtesy of lordsofpain.net...

We start with dozens of WWE Superstars, from Raw, ECW, and Smackdown surrounding the ring. McMahon's music starts, and he makes his way to the ring for what is sure to be an important announcement. The Chairman grabs the mic and says that he was surprised at the news of his illegitimate child. He admits to a couple of trysts in his life, but he doesn't even remember their names. This lady is withholding the name of his child, therefore Vince claims this is extortion. VKM swears that he cannot be intimidated... not by Congress, the media, or some woman who should have been on the pill. However, he takes solace in the fact that all of the WWE superstars are all supportive of him. The crowd begins to chant "Who's your daddy?" VKM asks for the support of the crowd, saying that this could happen to any red blooded American male. He says for 30 years he's been in the public spotlight, and nothing bothers him. As soon as he says this, Stephanie's music hits. She makes her way down to the ring with a mic in hand. Steph says she's glad that nothing can bother him, and she would have told him in private, but since he accused her of a publicity stunt when she was crying, she's going to say something right now. VKM accuses Steph of being all about the money.

Steph says VKM is sick, therefore she's got no guilt for what she's about to say. Earlier today, she came from the attorneys office, where she found out that her half-brother or sister is standing around the ring. The crowd starts a "Kennedy" chant. She says Vince's bastard is a WWE Superstar. Stephanie exits, and Vince begins walking around the ring looking worried. A hilarious moment comes when Vince looks around the roster, and Shad and JTG start smiling at him. "No Chance" starts as Vince leaves the ring. On his way out, VKM and Kennedy look eye to eye, then Vince looks eye to eye with Mark Henry as the camera fades into commercials.

After the break, Lashley is interviewed in a promo from the hospita. The recap of Kennedy/Lashley is shown, as we see some of the surgery on Lashley. Dr. James Andrews says that once Lashley heals up, he'll have a long career in the WWE.

kk.jpg Kennedy v. Sandman
The competitors square off with a collar and elbom tie-up with Kennedy puts Sandman in the corner. Sandman pushes Kennedy back, and they start again. Sandman gets behind KEnnedy, but reverses it into an armlock, shoving Sandman away. The two men start shoving each other, and Sandman begins delivering lefts and rights to Kennedy. Sandman hits a russian legsweep, and then crawls to the top rope, but he is met by Kennedy who does a snap-mare off the top. Kennedy mounts Sandman and begins punching away. Kennedy pulls Sandman up, and throws him into the corner on the mat before delivering a vicious knee. Kennedy hits the Green Bay Plunge and follows it up with a pin for the win!
Winner: Mr. Kennedy

In the back, VKM and Coach are talking. VKM says its one thing to have an illegitimate child, but it's another thing to find out he's on the roster. Coach says it's okay, because he can find out who it is, using the ages of the talent, starting with the age VKM lost his virginity. Coach asks VKM what age, and Vince regretably announces that he was almost a teenager at the time, meaning it could be anyone on the roster. Ric Flair shows up, giving the "Whoo" a few times. Vince just looks up at the ceiling in disbelief. When we come back, "WWE Idol" will be hosted by William Regal. Regal shows up in the back, announcing this, and thanking JBL and Cole for showing up to sing Hall and Oates. They're dressed absolutely ridiculously. Regal says it was ghastly, but JBL says they were better than the Beatles. Maria and Ron Simmons show up, and Regal says Maria will be a Judge tonight, and next week, Maria and Ron can go on their date. Santino shows up and says tonight he will sing a song so beautiful that Maria will go back to him. Ron walks away, into JBL and Cole still in 80s attire. They ask Ron his favorite 80s band, and Ron replies "Wham!"

Back in the ring, Cryme Tyme's music hits, and the crowd pops for their hometown heroes. JTG grabs the mic and hypes of the crowd with some "Yo's!" He calls for Brooklyn, and everyone pops. Shad takes a mic and says how they love to make that money money. Tonight, they're selling Lilian Garcia's seat from right under her. And to make it personalized, they're going to autograph it. Shad asks for 100... then a bid for 400... Hip-Hop artist Lil Bow Wow is in the front row, and gets a shout out. Another guy offers 500, then gets outbid to 1000 by another fan. The guy who paid 1000 got the chair, but the celebration is interrupted by Cade and Murdoch. We have our next match after this break!

Cade and Murdoch v. Cryme Tyme
We come back to Raw with the match in progress, as it's announced by JR that this is a non-title contest. Cade and Murdoch are in control, with Cade dominating Shad in their corner. Murdoch tags in and cheapshots Shad. Gaspard starts to fight back, only to get hit by a russian legsweep, and a two count cover by Murdoch. Quick tags leave Murdoch in the ring again after some quick offense by Cade, and Murdoch locks in a chinlock as Shad fights back to his feet. Shad begins elbowing Murdoch, and then runs into the corner, planting Murdoch into the turnbuckle. Murdoch dives for Shad, but he gets the hot tag to JTG before Murdoch can get to him. JTG takes over, obliterates both men, and hits a massive legdrop off the ropes onto Murdoch. Shad and the Ref are having words, so Cade and Murdoch take advantage, hitting their finisher on JTG. Shad sees this, grabs a chair, and plants Murdoch square on the back, avoiding the pinfall, but garnering a disqualification for the Brooklyn boys.
Winners: Cade and Murdoch

Snitsky v. Robbie
Snitsky with a clothesline and a pumphandle slam. Three Count. It's over. Snitsky goes for another pumphandle slam, but Rory tries to stop it, only to get hit with a pumphandle slam of his own. The Highlanders are laid out as Snitsky makes his way out of the ring.

VKM and Coach are walking, as Vince talks about his experiences with different women throughout his life. Coach proposes a drug test, but that would take too long. Instead, Coach asks for Vince to tell him of all of his indiscretions, and he'll research and announce his findings on Saturday Night's Main Event. Cody Rhodes shows up, and says "don't worry, I know who my father is." He gives Vince a condom, and then heads off to the ring. Vince says it reminds him to have Coach call the Trojan company and sue their "Magnum" division.

We come back to WWE Idol, with Todd Grisham playing the role of Ryan Seacrest. Our celebrity Panel: William Regal (who slams Grisham for acting like Seacrest), Maria (who mistakes Todd for a contestant and tells him his pitch is awful), and Mick Foley! Foley comes down to the ring to a pretty decent pop, and says he realized two things: it's great to be in NYC, and apparently he'll do almost anything for money.

First Contestant: Jillian Hall.
Jillian wants to sing a broadway hit, being that it is New York. She starts singing "Memories" to a sea of boos. She changest he lyrics and sings about how she wants to beat Candice Michelle. Foley remarks that he's actually glad he had his ear ripped off. Maria says the singing was... well, she looked good, and thats it. Regal begins to talk, but the crowd chants "You suck!" Regal says tonight's main event should be Roe v. Wade, because that was an abortion.

Second Contestant: Accompanied by Howard Finkel, Nicolai Volkoff and the Iron Shiek!
Nicolai asks that everyone stand as he sings the Soviet National Anthem. People begin booing as Shiek salutes Nicolai. Foley stops him, and says that he's glad it didn't affect him that the fans were chanting "USA" the whole time. Maria says that Nicolai has a beautiful voice, but she didn't understand him. Regal says it was bloody dreadful, and that it was a shame that he lost worse than Iron Shiek did to Hulk Hogan in that very same building. Shiek starts yelling about Regal being the first Brit to kiss Vince's bottom in WWE History.

Live from WWE RAW...

A fan wrote in the following live notes to Lordsofpain.net after attending Monday Night Raw last night...

  • John Cena defeated Randy Orton in a post-show bonus match.
  • Crowd was described as close to a sellout. Buffalo fans were hot all night.
  • Cena got the biggest reaction out of anyone.
  • Vince McMahon, Jerry Lawler, The Sandman, Jim Duggan and a few others also got very good reactions.

John Cena vs. Umaga: WWE RAW Results, 8-6-07

The following report is courtesy of lordsofpain.net...

We begin rather abruptly, as McMahon is back, his gray hair shining, as Jonathan Coachman approaches him and tells him how he's glad the boss is back. VKM wants all superstars under contract in the ring when they go live. Tonight, VKM decides to exercise his freedom of expression, as is his right as a citizen of the United States.

All Superstars, including WWE Divas, Jobbers, and Champions make their way to the ring. (John Cena and Randy Orton aren't anywhere to be seen). "No Chance" starts, and Vince arrives at the ramp, doing the all familiar power strut. Vince says he has a lot to say tonight, but he won't mince words. We should begin where we left off when he was "blown to smithereens." A clip plays reviewing that incident, two months ago. Vince says that's how he wants to go out, in a blaze of glory, and it almost happened. He says he did it because he needed to know whether or not the people really cared about him, because he's a sensitive human being, and needs positive reinforcement. He said he was overwhelmed by the support. A "What" chant breaks out. Vince says he will address the United States Congress tonight, as well as the hypocracy of the news media, his immediate family, and all of the wrestlers.

Coach then comes out as Vince begins to speak to the wrestlers. Vince calls Coach out for being late. Vince says in a moment, the bell will ring, and we're going to have an old fashioned Battle Royale. The winner of the Battle Royale will become the new General Manager of Raw!

Battle Royale to determine the new GM of Raw

The battle starts off as the WWE Divas get out of town quickly. Trevor Murdoch, Super Crazy, Robbie, and Paul London get eliminated, followed by JTG. Booker is tossed by Sandman, as a melee ensues in the ring. Umaga dumps out Shad, while the crowd chants for Hacksaw. Kennedy works on Cody Rhodes, while Daivari saves Carlito from elimination by Val Venis. We go to commercial mid-action...

We come back from commercial with all wrestlers ganging up on Umaga, with the exception of Carlito, standing back and watching it unfold. Everyone gives up, as Umaga throws out Rory of the Highlanders. Val Venis eliminates Lance Cade and begins to work on Umaga, only to get knocked out by the Samoan Bulldozer. Sandman eliminates both Kendrick and Umaga! Kennedy is tossed by Carlito, as Carlito and Shelton eliminate Hacksaw. Sandman, Carlito, Shelton, and Cody are the final four. Awesome back elbow by Cody, who nearly eliminates Carlito, but gets nowhere as Carlito crawls away. Carlito then starts on Sandman, racking him on the ropes and then pounding him with boots. Cody works on Shelton with fists of fury. Big boot by Shelton knocks down Cody, while Sandman and Carlito brawl back and forth. Big dropkick by Carlito on Sandman, and both men are down. Carlito back up now, while Cody hits Shelton with a polish hammer. Shelton nearly eliminates Cody, but cody saves himself. Benjamin kicks Cody in the head, and Carlito takes advantage of it, tossing Cody out. Now Carlito and Sandman battle on the top rope, but Sandman fights carlito off. Benjamin then jumps to the top rope and superplexes him down to the mat. Carlito and Shelton battle on the apron, and the Sandman eliminates both! Sandman has done it! But wait, William Regal crawls out from under the ring, removes his boot, smashes Sandman over the head, and tosses the ECW legend, proclaiming himself the Winner! It's official, William Regal is the new General Manager of Monday Night Raw.

Coach is in the back, complaining the Regal is not even an American, and will make a horrible GM. Vince then scoffs at the Congressional Committee's investigation of the WWE. Vince mistakes Benjamin Franklin for a president, is called out by Coach, and after Vince rambling about Barney Fife, declares Coach as Regal's new assistant.

Todd Grisham stands by with Queen Sharmel and King Booker. Booker says that Triple H is no King; he's a phony. He says his opponent tonight, Jerome Lawler, is a phony as well. Booker T announces a celebration next week at Madison Square Garden, where the loser tonight will place a crown up tonight's winner's head. Booker assures us the Jerome Lawler will be vanquished tonight, and lay at the feet of King Booker next week. Best Booker promo ever...

Snitsky v. Rory
Squash city. Rory gets a quick kick, but gets leveled by a clothesline. Rory is out. Pumphandle slam by Snitsky, and this one is over. Robbie attends to Rory as Snitsky broods on the way back up the ramp.
Your Winner: Snitsky

Vince is talking to a bald guy named Brian about having a bald head. Coach says Regal is in the shower, but he has a cell phone call that Vince should take, from the WWE accountant, George. Vince tells George to let them audit everything and hangs up the phone. Coach asks what it was about, as Vince says the IRS is investigating him. The media will have a field day with this, says Vince, blowing the story out of proportion. VKM declares that the difference between the News Media and the WWE is absolutely nothing; both are entertainment. Vince shakes his head about the IRS and leaves. Irwin R. Scheister is seen behind him, reading the Wall Street Journal.

We come back from the commercial break for the weekly Diva's match. Jillian says that tonight we celebrate Summerslam tonight. Jillian asks Lilian Garcia about her new album coming out in the fall. Jillian says nobody wants to hear Lilian sing, they want to hear her sing, as she busts out with a horrible tune. She's interrupted by Mickie James, who gets a rather large pop. Jerome Lawler's ears are bleeding.

Summerslam Main Event Announced: WWE RAW Results, 7-23-07

The following report is courtesy of lordsofpain.net...

Raw comes on the air with Coach in the back saying that thanks to his efforts, the Great American Bash was a huge success. He says that we are just fiveweeks away from Summerslam, and that a new #1 Contender must be named. He says he will be looking at all tonight's matches closely. He also says that the Main Event tonight will involve all of Raw's champions as Cade and Murdoch team with Umaga to take on John Cena and Candice Michelle.

Back in the arena, a table is set up in the ring, set rather royally. King Booker's music hits, and the Champion of Champions makes his way to the ring accompanied as always by Queen Sharmell. Once in the ring, Booker grabs a mic, takes a sip from the chalice on the table, and sits on the throne in the ring. He addresses "Jerome" Lawler, saying they got off on the wrong foot last week, but that's no reason to not settle the dispute like gentlemen. He asks him to come into the ring, and they can both state their case for being the true King of the WWE. Lawler agrees and enters the ring. Booker says that he's spared no expense for Lawler, and asks him to sit and make himself comfortable. Booker asks how Lawler is doing. Lawler tries to speak, but the mic keeps cutting out. Booker asks the staff to get "Jerome" another mic. Booker then says that in the meantime he'll state his case for being King. He says that he's earned it, but winning the King of the Ring. He says that one can't just go around calling themselves King. He then addresses the Sacramento Kings, saying that they can't be called Kings since they haven't won anything. He says they should be called the "Peasants."

He asks if Lawler should be King, and says no. He asks if Triple H should be called King of Kings, and says "Hell No". He says that the one true King in the WWE is he, King Booker. As Lawler tries to speak, Sharmell interupts, saying "All Hail King Booker!" Lawler finally gets his word in, saying that a King is only as good as his kingdom. If the people don't think of you as a king, then you're not really a king. Lawler says that from what he gathers from the crowd, they don't think of Booker as a king. Lawler says that he is a pompous, delusional, pain in the arse. Booker says that he will no longer stand for this. He says that if Lawler really thinks this, then he'll say it right to his face. Lawler says he has a better idea, and he gives Booker a hard right that knocks Booker to the ground. Lawler stomps away, until Booker rolls out of the ring, and then throws a platter of fruit from the table onto King Booker. Lawler's music hits as Booker backs up the entrance ramp, and Lawler poses with his crown in the ring.

The camera pans out, and we see the Carlito has spit the apple chunks in Lashley's face. Carlito takes off, runs into the arena, and grabs a mic. Carlito says that it was an accident. He says that he knows the kind of guy that Lashley is, and that if he is forgiven, then Lashley shouldn't do anything. After a few seconds of waiting, Carlito smiles and goes to leave, but Lashley's music hits. Carlito is frantically telling Lashley not to do anything and that he's sorry. Lashley jumps up to the apron, but Carlito meets him, knock him to the ground. Carlito beats down Lashley, and then tries to Irish whip him into the ring steps. Lashley leaps over the steps, lands on his feet and turns to face Carlito. He catches the South Paw from San Juan, and lifts him as if he were nothing. Lashley drops him face first onto the apron. Monday Night RAW Preview

The following is courtesy of WWE.com...

The fallout from the WWE Championship Match between John Cena and Bobby Lashley at The Great American Bash will immediately be felt when Raw returns to the Arco Arena in Sacramento, Calif. Will The Champ still be here, or will Raw mark the beginning of the Bobby Lashley era in WWE?

Randy Orton tried to end a new era in the Rhodes family before it began when he attempted to give Dusty Rhodes’ son Cody a concussion in his in-ring Raw debut. When Raw resumes next week, it will be one day after Orton’s Texas Bull Rope Match against “The American Dream.” Will Orton turn back the legend of Dusty Rhodes at The Bash? Or will Rhodes humble his much younger, disrespectful opponent?

One WWE Superstar who needs humbling is King Booker, who was pummeled by Jerry Lawler after “The King” refused to kiss his ring. The battle over the WWE’s monarchy seems to be heating up between Booker and Memphis’ favorite son. To what lengths will King Booker go to hold sole ownership over his throne?

Great American Bash Hype: WWE RAW Results, 7-16-07

Moday Night Raw begins with Triple H's music hitting!!! The crowd is going insane. A shadowy figure emerges from the back, but it is soon revealed to be King Booker. The crowd boos like crazy. Booker asks if they were expecting someone else. He says that he saw the promo hyping Triple H's return, and that it is blasphemy for Triple H to call himself the King of Kings when there is only one king in the WWE.

Booker goes on to say that he is stripping Triple H of his title "King Of Kings." He then says that there is one more issue to be handled, that of Jerry Lawler. He asks Jerry to remove the title "King" from his name. The crowd starts chanting "Jerry" as Lawler picks up the mic. Lawler says that he's respected Booker for years, but that Booker has been King for a short time, and that he has been King for over 30 years. He says that there's no reason they can't coexist. Booker says that there can only be one King. Lawler says that if it means that much to him, then he won't refer to himself as "the King" on the show, though he can't control what the fans and JR call him. Booker says that as a sign of submission, he would like Jerry to kiss the royal ring. Lawler stands up, and says he won't kiss Booker's ring. Booker says he's not asking, he's ordering him to kiss the ring. Lawler says that he's telling him no. Booker cheapshots Lawler, but Lawler fights back sending Booker to the ground. Lawler is being held back by officials, as Booker is saying that he'll get him. Lawler's music hits as Booker backs away in anger. The crowd is going nuts for Lawler as we go to commercial.

After a break, Jerry Lawler is in the ring. He says that at the Great American Bash there will be a Texas Bullrope match. He explains that the two men will be tied to a rope, and hanging on the rope is a cowbell. In the match, anything is legal, including the rope and the bell. Lawler says that there's no one better than Dusty Rhodes at a Texas Bullrope match, but come Sunday, someone will get their bell rung. Orton's music hits, and Lawler clears the ring as the Legend Killer comes out for his match. JR and King hype the "Orton Concussion Tour", leading one to think that either Dusty or Cody is going to get it sometime tonight or at the PPV. As Orton is in the ring, Cody Rhodes' music hits, and he comes out accompanied by his father.
