John Cena Interviews Snoop Dogg on WWE.com

It may seem like an odd pairing, but John Cena recently interviewed Snoop Dogg for WWE.com. Here's a sample exchange:

Cena: Starting out, is there anything you want to say to our viewers on WWE.com? The album is out, it’s available, it’s in stores. I’ve got it and it is unbelievable, man ... I love that matching track with Dr. Dre. You’re doing a whole lot of things. Is there anything first and foremost you want to tell your fans about this album?

Snoop: Well, you know, basically, it’s Snoop Dogg all wrapped up in one. If you know Snoop Dogg, you know he do it every which way – he do it in his own exciting way, and that’s what this record is representing ...

John Cena on ESPN Radio Recap

The following report is courtesy of lordsofpain.net and Mr. Tito ...

The Champ

John Cena was on ESPN Radio this morning with Collin Cowherd. Cowherd was bored with the Tigers vs. Cardinals World Series and claimed he's bringing in Cena to provide a special opinion about the World Series, given Cena's hometown ties to Boston and Red Sox fans.

Collin said that wrestling fans are still "booger eaters," but he believes that Cena is the "absolute star of the WWE," citing his past education and success in pro wrestling.

- Collin asked what he thought about the big money teams being out of the World Series (Boston, New York, etc.) and Cena said it was "great" to see new teams getting a chance.

- Yesterday, there was a discussion about what NFL players would make good pro wrestlers and they agreed that Jeremy Shockey would make a good wrestler. They then discussed Terrell Owens not being a good wrestler (too uncooperative), but Cena said he'd have a great match with Owens.

- Collin asked how Cena got into pro wrestling, despite his athletic career and his degree in exercise phisiology. He said that he was a big fan of wrestling and thought about it during his time as an offensive lineman in college. By chance, he found a way into the business and wrestled for two years in Southern California.

ESPN Radio

- Cena was asked about Alex Rodriguez and how he should be traded from the Yankees. Cena was amazed at how much a city has affected a player's ability and said that the Yankees must trade him. He said that Boston, on the other hand, embraces their players, such as accepting Manny Ramirez for his eccentric ways.

- What is the best wrestling city? Top 5: Detroit, Chicago, New York City, Boston, and Philadelphia. East Coast is the best area, with the exception of the 2 midwest cities given.

- Collin said that he hates wrestling fans but loves having high quality wrestlers on his show. Collin asked his contributor, Compass, to try to get Hulk Hogan for a future show.

Recap of John Cena on The Howard Stern Show

John Cena appeared on the Howard Stern radio show this week. He discussed The Marine, the ladies, steroids and more. Here's a recap:

Stern asked if Cena ever had an orgy and Cena said the most girls he has ever been with were six at once. They came to a show and wanted to have a good time, so why not, right? He said his best experience was with two strippers from Louisville, who did everything imaginable with him.

Cena on Stern(Here's what we wanna know, though? Has Cena ever slept with any of the WWE Divas?)

The subject of Chris Kanyon was next. Cena said he knew Chris, and that Chris came out of the closet after he was out of WWE, not during like he is saying.

Also, he basically said that Kanyon "just wasn't that good," meaning that he originally had the Mortis persona in WCW which was cool, but came to WWE as just "Chris Kanyon." Vince expects you to show charisma and have an identity.

Cena was very adamant that he never tried steroids. He's been working out since he was a kid, wrestled in the NCAA and stuff where there were tests and now WWE has its wellness program, so he couldn't even do it now if he wanted to. They polled the room about it.

Robin was the voice of reason, saying he wasn't even that big compared to others who have been in, such as Triple H. Other guys in the room said he must have tried steroid before, but Cena stuck to his guns. He summed it up by saying he won't be able to change people's minds or perceptions, so he just shrugs it off.

USA Today Publishes Story on John Cena, The Marine

It won't come out until Friday, but we've found a copy of the USA Today article that features insight about The Marine.

Here's it is:

Can a WWE wrestler and a Nip/Tuck tart offer moviegoers a Total Recall to the glory years of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sharon Stone?

Cena on Screen

The Marine's John Cena, 29, and Kelly Carlson, 30, are ready to fill the void left by those former big-screen titans, co-starring as John and Kate Triton in the WWE-produced action adventure film opening Friday.

Like Schwarzenegger, who started out as a bodybuilding champ, Cena has a body that supersedes his acting résumé. He has wrestled with the WWE since 2002. Though he has yet to meet the Governator, he has received sage advice from wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who warned him about "the whole rocky road ahead."

Schwarzenegger and Stone proved a winning team in 1990's Total Recall. In the years following, he muscled, while she muffled, their box-office competitors. But today, Ah-nuld, 59, is governor of California, while Stone, 48, has appeared in a string of box-office bombs (Catwoman, Basic Instinct 2).

Entertainment Tonight's Leonard Maltin believes the time is right for the next big action star and femme fatale to make a splash.

"Every generation seems to have its iconic action star and sex symbol, and neither one of these needs necessarily be filled by an outstanding actor," notes Maltin. "It's the right role in the right movie at the right time that makes all the difference."

Time - and ticket sales - will tell if Cena and Carlson have staying power.

John Cena, WWE Superstars Visit Camp Pendleton for The Marine Premiere

The Marine didn't simply premiere over the weekend. It did so at Camp Pendleton in Southern California.

John Cena was there, of course. He was joined by co-stars in the movie, as well as fellow WWE wrestlers, such as Ric Flair and Triple H.

A WWE camera crew was on hand to capture the enthusiasm of soldiers and superstars alike.

John Cena Trains for The Marine, Meets the Marines

This is a message to all the recruits and servicemen and women involved in the United States Marine Corps: I, John Cena, want to thank you for the opportunity to have a portion of the respect that it is to be a Marine. Being in the WWE Films movie, The Marine, is an honor. Coming to Parris Island is a privilege ... It was an honor and privilege to be here among the men and women who are sweating it out and earn it right here on Parris Island. We love you.

John Cena - the new WWE World Champion - spoke those words from experience. He recently trained with marine on the rural island of South Carolina’s Lowcountry. WWE.com has the story.

“I got my ass whipped,” Cena admitted.

Cena Trains

As the star of the upcoming WWE Films release, The Marine, Cena wanted to get a taste of what the brave young men and women who enlist as Marines must endure at boot camp at the United States Marine Corps Recruit Depot Eastern Recruiting Division at Parris Island, S.C.

He certainly found out.

Cena started his day at Parris Island during the late morning, meeting Marines personnel and chatting with a few Marines at the base’s newspaper, The Boot. He then changed into a uniform, complete with boots and a USMC T-shirt, and was whisked away for an autograph signing at a chow hall on the base. Several hundred WWE fans, including Marines and their families, waited in a long line to see the Superstar.

“It means a lot that John Cena is here today. It helps motivate all the Marines and keep them focused that there’s people out there who respect them and appreciate what they’re doing. And for him to take the time out to come and share that with us, especially after starring in The Marine, representing us, it shows a lot of love to us,” said Sgt. Stephen Mitchell.

WWE News/Notes: The Rock, John Cena are Different Kinds of Hits

- Reviews of Gridiron Gang have been mixed, but box office results for the latest vehicle starring The Rock are not: it ranked as the highest grossing movie of the weekend.

The film grossed approximately $15 million this weekend, causing it to outpace The Black Dahlia, starring Josh Hartnett and Scarlett Johansson.

- Meanwhile, John Cena probably hopes his first flick, The Marine, fares as well. At least he was recently honored (sort of) by a Harvard football player.

Matt Curtis paid homage to the new WWE champion during yesterday's 31-14 victory over Holy Cross. The player flashed the "you can't see me" wave after contributing to a pair of big defensive stops; the gesture was recognized by several fans in attendance.

Unforgiven Spoiler: John Cena Advertised for RAW

John Cena to Smackdown? The thoughts of various WWE Superstars on the possible move may not matter anymore.

With Unforgiven taking place on Sunday, word is coming in that Cena is still advertised for WWE RAW events on dates long after the pay-per-view has ended.

The two main examples are a show in Chicago on October 23 that and an upcoming Survivor Series tour of the UK this November.

Such advertisements are typically printed well in advance, so it's plausible that may still be changed - or it's plausible that Cena will grab the title belt before Edge in the duo's TLC match at the event. Tune in and find out!

John Cena Talks About Working Out, FLEX Magazine ... and Edge Sucking

John Cena is a busy man. He's trying to recapture his WWE title from Edge, preparing for Unforgiven on September 17, publicizing his movie, The Marine and, as always, working out like a mad man.

As a result of the latter, Cena will adorn the November cover of FLEX magazine. He recently talked to WWE.com about the honor.

John Cena Flexes

“We are here today at Gold’s Gym for a FLEX magazine cover shoot, which believe it or not, is a teen/childhood dream of mine,” Cena said. “It’s an honor and privilege.

A group of about 20 people followed the RAW superstar around Gold’s Gym in Manhattan’s Times Square recently, including a WWE.com crew, FLEX magazine reporter Allan Donnelly and freelance photographer Ian Spanier.
