John Cena Father Angle to Continue

Expect to see the angle with John Cena’s father to continue.

The Champ's father has wanted a position in WWE for a long time. The idea of using Cena Sr. has been discussed for a long time but Vince decided to hold it off, as they can only do the major angle with a dad once.

Cena has a brother, who could also be brought in to further the angle.

John Cena Hits the Century Mark

On last night's edition of WWE RAW, John Cena got his 100th win of the year with his victory over Snitsky. It was his 115th match of 2007.

Congrats to The Champ!

John Cena, Chris Jericho and Bret Hart on Larry King

CNN has posted a full transcript of the interview Larry King held last night with John Cena, Chris Jericho and Bret Hart regarding the death of Chris Benoit. Here is the broadcast's opening:

Good evening.

The wrestling world and its fans still reeling from last month's suicide and double murder involving WWE champion and star Chris Benoit. His friends, colleagues and law enforcement are trying to figure out exactly what happened at his Georgia home the weekend of June 22nd.

Benoit apparently strangled his wife Nancy and suffocated their 7-year-old son Daniel and then hanged himself.

We begin with John Cena, the WWE champion and superstar. He knew Chris Benoit professionally.

Bret "Hitman" Hart is in Calgary, Canada. He is the former pro wrestling star, who knew Chris Benoit for several years. In fact, Chris started with Bret's father -- his wrestling company -- in Canada. And in 1999, you remember, Bret's brother Owen died tragically, falling to his death in Kansas City during a stunt for a Pay-Per-View wrestling event.

And here in Los Angeles, Chris Jericho, a very close friend of Chris Benoit, former WWE star. He held six different titles and he's author of "A Lion's Tale: Around the World In Spandex."

John, what did you make of this? How did you hear of it?

JOHN CENA, WWE CHAMPION & SUPERSTAR, WORKED WITH CHRIS BENOIT: Mr. King, we were --

KING: Larry.

CENA: Larry, we were actually in Corpus Christi, Texas getting ready to do our regular Monday night "Raw" broadcast and it really just really caught everyone by surprise. We heard of it about two hours before we went on the air. And it was such sudden and disastrous news that the right thing to do was to cancel the show. And it really, really hit everybody like a ton of bricks.

KING: To your knowledge, was anything troubling him?

CENA: No, absolutely not. And I think, if you ask anybody who knew Chris -- I strictly knew him professionally. But the guy was iron clad. He was real quiet. He kept to himself. He had ultimate respect for his workplace. He was a model employee. I have no idea where any of this came from.

KING: And you're in a violent sport, but I understand he was not a violent person.

CENA: No. He was a great guy. He was a great guy to be around. And that's -- that's the, ultimately, the strangest thing about this whole thing. No one saw this coming.

KING: Chris, you were a friend as well as a colleague, right?

The Champ and His Belt

As reported by WWE.com, when The Champ talked all things sports with Salley, Chris Rose, Rob Dibble and Rodney Peete, he spent plenty of time ribbing Salley for being eliminated during the first round of competition on Fast Cars and Superstars.

“I was trying to take the John Cena/John Salley feud all the way to the top. One of us wasn’t really into it,” Cena joked.

John Cena will be a guest host again on tonight’s The Best Damn Sports Show Period, airing at 11 ET on FSN. The season finale of Fast Cars and Superstars airs Sunday at 7 p.m. ET on ABC.

Recap of John Cena on Conan O'Brien

John Cena appeared on The Conan O'Brien show last night. Here's a recap:

The scene begins with Cena being introduced as the WWE Champion, and shows a clip of the F-U on Khali from Raw. Cena joked as being born with the muscles that he currently has, and tells Conan he can do it. Conan rebuts with "No, I cant!"

Cena says that he doesn't oil up, and said that it is not 'his cup of coffee.' He also jokes that he is meaner than a dog crapping tacks when he goes through the curtain. Cena talks about the TLC match, and Conan jokes that they should put an ottoman in the ring to hit someone with.

Conan mentions that Cena is a Make a Wish spokesman, and Cena says that WWE/Make a Wish has a project called "Destination Joy." The project has an auction on wish.org for four ringside tickets to Wrestlemania 24 in Orlando. The winning bidder gets those four seats, a private jet flight to Orlando, hotel accomodations, and gets to hang with Cena.

The segment closes with Conan plugging Raw, Fast Cars and Superstars, and Destination Joy.

John Cena in Fight with TNA Star?

According to a report by PWInsider, there was reportedly a confrontation between WWE Champion John Cena and TNA star Ron "The Truth" Killings this past Monday morning around 7:00 in North Carolina at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

The report states that Cena, who was heading to Canada after an appearance at the Coca-Cola 600 race on Sunday and saw Killings at the airport. Killings, who lives in Carolina and was heading to the TNA iMPACT! tapings that night in Orlando, was then approached by Cena. Cena was said to be upset after Killings made some negative comments about him during a series of TNA promos that were released through YouTube.

According to sources, Cena simply stared Killings down waiting for him to say something in person. Killings then reportedly returned with a stare to Cena, in what was described as a very tense moment. The two later went their seperate ways, with sources saying there was no physical interaction between the two at all.

John Cena On WWE Injuries, Schedule and More

Josh Stewart of The Long Island Press recently interviewed WWE Champion John Cena. Here are some highlights from the interview:

Cena

On so many injuries in WWE lately:
"Live event business is great. Pay-per-view business is great. TV business is great. And that's where we make our money. We make our money selling tickets. And I think it falls on the hands of the talent to really be careful in there. We've got some guys that are hurt that have been in it for a while. Shawn Michaels is out hurt, Undertaker is out hurt, Triple H is hurt, Rey Mysterio is hurt. These are guys who are 10 years or more involved."

On if WWE's schedule is causing injuries:

"I don't want to say it's because of the schedule. I'm just saying you can only do this full tilt for so long. And these guys are gracious enough to lend their time full tilt. In our sport, you're going to get hurt. It's only a matter of time. We've just fallen on some hard times where everybody's injured at the same time."

On if TNA's lighter schedule is the way to go:
"Let me put it to you this way: If a company is working five nights a [month], it's not doing well as a company. So, I really like our schedule, and if I could send a message to anybody, it'd be our locker room. Now is the perfect time for the next Shawn Michaels to step up, the next Triple H to step up. There is nothing but opportunity in front of any of the young Superstars who's ever wanted to make a name for themselves."

The Think Tank: John Cena is the Best

The Think Tank Logo By Pete Ellis

I have decided that John Cena is the best pro wrestler of his generation.

Calm down. I know it's the kind of call a 16-year-old little girl makes when her father is hooked on WWE. But, seriously, let's look at the facts. In this modern era of short title runs and inconsistent story lines, there has been one unwavering force in wrestling: John Cena.

Yes, kids, that same little white rapper who, only a few short years ago, was wearing orange wrestling trunks and spouting off lines about ruthless aggression, has compiled the most impressive half-decade in WWE history. To wit:

- He's won an elimination chamber match, an I Quit match with JBL, and last man standing against Umaga.
- He gave the FU to the following: Viscera, Umaga, Big Show, Undertaker, and (soon to be added) The Great Khali.
- Cena made the following tap out: BOTH Triple H and Shawn Michales of DX, Chris Benoit, Edge, and JBL.
- Sent packing: Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, and John Bradshaw Layfield.
- How about winning the main event match at Wrestlemania the last three years in a row?

John Cena Think about that.

Stone Cold never did that. Neither did The Rock or The Undertaker. The ONLY Wrestler to do that was... (drum roll please): Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania I, II, and III. That was quite a while ago, and in a very different era.

The only guy who has had any success fighting Cena is Edge, who took his title twice - once by cashing in Money in the Bank after Cena beat six other guys, and the other time by pinning RVD in a three-way fight. Cena responded both times by beating Edge convincingly in rematches.

John Cena is starting to run out of qualified opponents. He's entertaining on the microphone, he's been in his own movie, and his merchandise sells like homeowner's insurance in Florida. They redesigned the title belt for him, and his moniker is "The Champ," yet somehow I'm not sick of him yet.

Now that I've written this, he'll probably get beaten this week. But in the meantime, Cena has provided us with an unstoppable and controversial figure that you love, or love to hate.

It's been almost entirely success for John for years now, and I think it's about time we took a moment to appreciate how rare that is in this day and age of monthly pay-per-views and on-demand entertainment. So go get um' Johnny, and don't come home without that stupid spinning belt.

Peace out.
