Eric Bischoff Comments on WWE, Congressional Steroid Request

Congress has ârequestedâ documents from WWE relating to their drug testing policy. I hope that the likes of Dave Meltzer and Wade Keller are happy. I am sure they are, as more than likely they might get a chance to be on television, or at the very least will see the traffic to their websites and subscriptions to their wrestling tabloids increase. After all, they worked hard to contribute to the media frenzy that rushed to vilify the wrestling business. They continue to promote the âdeath and drug cultureâ on their websites and prop up self-promoting sycophants that still canât deal with the fact that they are irrelevant.

This is nothing more than a chance for a handful of parasitic politicians who feed off the teat of the public coffers, and are more reliant on television face time than Joanie Laurer to extend their careers.

Perhaps congress hasnât heard about the immigration problem, or issues like Katrina. Perhaps the fact that government funded and administered programs that allow astronauts to fly space shuttles while legally under the influence of alcohol is just not newsworthy enough. Maybe the fact that members of their own body like U.S. Representative William Jefferson is accused of soliciting bribes, laundering money, obstructing justice and hiding pay offs in his freezer is just too mundane and doesnât equate to votes.

Or how about the esteemed member of congress from the state of Florida (Bob Allen) that was recently arrested for offering to polish the knob of an undercover police officer in a menâs room in exchange for a $20.00 bill? Congress feels the need/opportunity to stand up (get face time) and investigate professional wrestling. Iâve got a better idea. Hey Congress: investigate thyself.

Hereâs a news flash: a disproportionate number of people who a drawn to the entertainment business appear to be predisposed to drug/alcohol use and abuse.

Eric Bischoff Shoots on TNA Wrestling

Eric Bischoff recently sat down with ClubWWI.com and responded bluntly with criticism of TNA Wrestling.

Here's what he had to say:

"They have not done anything yet and I donât even know any of those people except maybe Jeff Jarrett and a handful of talent working there. I don't know anyone behind the (scenes). I don't know Dixie Carter. If she showed up in my driveway, I wouldn't recognize her. I don't know anyone over there. I don't know who's doing what. I really don't care. So it's nothing personal here.

I'd like to see them succeedâ¦But the truth is, from what I've seen of their product, no one there really gets it. They're a small independent company that's been getting a 1.0 rating for the last five years. They keep trying to pull rabbits out of their hat with talent. 'Oh we're gonna bring in Sting and that's gonna turn the business around! ' Well, they brought in Sting, who's obviously a great talent, and guess what? Nothing happened.

And then 'We're gonna bring in Christian Cage. It's a big surprise. He's hot in WWE and we got him and it's gonna turn things around.' Guess what? Nothing happened.

Then 'We're gonna bring in Kurt Angle and he's the real deal. Things are gonna turn around!' Guess what? Nothing happened. Nothing's ever gonna happen until they get it."

Eric Bischoff Blogs About Hulk Hogan

Eric Bischoff recently wrote the following about Hulk Hogan:

Another thing that stays the same is the fascination of the Japanese public with Hulk Hogan. Iâve had the opportunity to travel around the world with some of the biggest names in sports entertainment over the past decade. Not taking anything away from any of them, but none get the kind of reaction from the general public and from wrestling fans that Hogan gets.

Maybe its because heâs so hard to miss, maybe its because Hogan reminds fans of all ages of some of the best periods of professional wrestling, or maybe its just his âcharismaâ, but whatever the reason, the reaction to Hulk Hogan last month in Tokyo was as strong as Iâve seen.

Impressive Debut for Eric Bischoff Book

Say what you want about the WWE, but one thing is for sure: it's a great place to garner publicity for your book. Mick Foley used the platform to help his first published work climb all the way to number-one on the NY Times Best Seller List.

Now, Eric Bischoff appears to be the next successful wrestling author. On November 5, Controversy Creates Cash will debut on the same newspaper's non-fiction best seller list at number-16.

This makes it the highest ranked WWE book since Ric Flair: To Be The Man in summer 2004.

Eric Bischoff Shoots on Internet, TNA Wrestling, nWo/DX and More

Eric Bischoff was a guest on this weekâs audio show at Inyourheadonline.com. He talked about his book, âControversy Creates Ca$h,â as well as a number of other topics:

- On his book: When asked if he was worried about WWE making changes to his book in any way, he said the thought had crossed his mind, but he wanted to set the record straight and the WWE obliged him with that, giving him full creative control.

- On the Internet wrestling community: Bischoff tells the story of Googling his name and finding his bio on wikipedia.com and it had the wrong birthday and wrong information. He said, simply: âThe Internet isnât really beneficial to the business" because it ruins any chance of any kind of storyline by leaking insight into it.

- On DX vs. the nWo: He said DX "immediately" ripped off the nWo. He said before Monday Nitro was around, the WWE was geared more towards children and that it wasnât till the New World Order came around that you saw guys such as DX, Steve Austin and the whole "Attitude Era."

Bischoff was asked if a new feud between the nWo and DX would work now. He said if Kevin Nash was available, Scott Hall was coherent and Hulk Hogan was involved it could work, but with the rebirth of DX this year, it's obviously inot the same DX. The thought of bringing back an older, more water downed nWo would probably end up a bad decision.

- On TNA wrestling: Said if TNA wants to truly contend with WWE, it can't try to be better than the WWE - it has to be different.

- On Ric Flair: Said that he likes Ric Flair on a personal level, but regrets not giving him the respect he deserved back when he was running WCW. He continued to say that the lack of respect was because Bischoffwasnât to familiar with Flair and his work.

WWE Rumors: Is Bischoff Being Used to Bring Back nWo?

Let us go on record right now: any thoughts of bringing in Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, as the nWo, to feud with DX should be thrown out the window right now. This rivalry would hog the spotlight and only fans from 10 years ago would care.

But we can't help but think it's in the immediate future for WWE fans - maybe as soon as Survivor Series.

Why else have former GM Eric Bischoff appear on RAW last night? One particular line of his spoke to the possible truth in this rumor:

âRAW in its current form wouldnât exist without me. There would be no DX without the nWo (referring to a faction in WCW),â he said.

Vince rarely lets references such as that slip by without having a plan in mind. And with Triple H on the booking team it seems likely that his old pals will be appearing on the opposite side of a ring from him and HBK in the near future.
