Christian Cage was the feature attraction on this month's TNA Wrestling, pre-pay-per-view conference call. Here are highlights from the interview:
- Cage was asked about the upcoming TNA video game. He said heâs a huge video games fan, but heâd not played the TNA Wrestling game yet. He noted that the graphics on it looked great.
- Was asked about his finisher, and told of how the name âThe Unprettierâ came about as a joke while talking with Edge and Chris Jericho. He said heâs still in contact with both, as well as other friends from his time in WWE.
- Talk of TNA possibly getting a two-hour timeslot came up. Cage said a one-hour show makes it tough to fit everything in, and that with all the backstage segments as well as the in ring stuff, a two hour show is long due. He put over many of the roster as being talented, and said that a two-hour show is needed to help develop some of the characters who appear on TV.
- He said morale backstage in TNA right now is good.
- His TNA character was discussed. He said he feels more comfortable playing a heel, and that it comes naturally to him. He also commented on his current run as champion, admitting it has been more of a success than his first run with the title.
- He put over Abyss and Samoa Joe, saying he loved his match with Abyss at last yearâs Lockdown PPV, and was also happy with how his recent PPV match with Joe panned out.
- The topic of the âFire Russoâ chants was brought up, with Christian saying he heard about it, but was busy getting ready for his match at the time.
- On talk of the NWA names being taken away from TNA (something will be happening in the next month), Cage said heâd heard rumours, but that was it.
- He said Rob Van Dam would be a good signing for TNA, but that he hasnât spoken to him for awhile and doesnât know whatâs going on there.
- He commented on WWEâs tough travel schedule, and said that he feels more human working a lighter schedule with TNA. He said that the mental side of things when youâre on the road is as tough as the physical side of things, and that his career will be extended as a result of the lighter schedule heâs now working. He said he has no regrets in joining TNA.
