Report: Cause of Brian Adams' Death

The Associated Press released the following article Friday evening:

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -Former pro wrestler Brian "Crush'' Adams died last month after accidentally ingesting a lethal mixture of prescribed medications, the medical examiner's office said Friday.

The 44-year-old Tampa resident died Aug. 13 from mixing a strong painkiller with muscle relaxants and two different types of sedatives, said Dr. Leszek Chrostowski from the Hillsborough County medical examiner's office.

Chrostowski said he found "therapeutic levels'' of each of the drugs in his system, but the mixture slowed his respiratory system enough to kill him.

There were no anabolic steroids in Adams' body, a report from the office said.

According to the Medical Examiner, Dr. Leszek Chrostowski, there is no preliminary cause of death for Brian Adams. Adams passed away yesterday at the age of 44. Further examination will be required, such as toxicology reports and tissue testing. The results of those tests wonât come back for six to eight weeks.

Brian "Crush" Adams Passes Away

Tampa Bay police and fire/rescue workers were dispatched to the home of Brian Adams this morning after receiving a call from his wife, who said Adams was unresponsive.

Upon arrival, rescue members found him on the bed and not breathing. They attempted to revive him but were unable to and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy is expected to be performed on the body tomorrow. Cause of death is still unknown, the incident report says there were âno visible signs of injuries.â
