Chris Jericho Comments on Shawn Michaels Feud, Story Line

In an interview with UK's The Sun, Chris Jericho said his storyline with Shawn Michaels wasn't supposed to be as intricate as it's turned out.

"It’s great," Jericho said. It was one of those things we just kind of stumbled upon. It was never planned to be such an intricate storyline, with all the ups and downs and ins and outs, but sometimes when you start working on something you realise that it’s really working out and it’s going good, you run with it. That’s what we did."

Jericho added that the addition of Lance Cade has been a boon to the story line.

"You’re just going to have to stay tuned and find out what happens with that," he said. "Like I said, the beauty of the storyline is that it started with Shawn and Batista, then I got involved, then it’s about me and Shawn and (Ric) Flair gets involved, then Triple H is involved and Lance Cade comes out. It’s a multi-tiered storyline and I like stuff like that."

WWE Spoilers: Smackdown Results, 6-27-08

The following results will air tomorrow night on Smackdown...

- WWE Champion Triple H came out and put over the new team of Mick Foley and Jim Ross at ringside. He talked about Night of Champions and John Cena repeating the line that if Cena doesn't beat him, he is nothing.

Edge comes out and brings up how unique it is to have two of the company's world champions in the same ring. Triple H said he had a bigger ego than Edge does and that he was "bigger" in many other ways. Edge then brings up his record against John Cena and Batista compared to Triple H. Batista runs out and spears Edge.

- ECW Champion Kane and The Big Show defeated MVP and Mark Henry.

- Finlay and Hornswoggle defeated Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder.

- Edge defeated WWE U.S. Champion Matt Hardy.

- Mark Henry has been added to the ECW Title Match at Night of Champions so it is now Kane (c) vs. Big Show vs. Mark Henry.

- Vladimir Kozlov defeated Domino.

- Batista defeated Umaga via DQ. The DQ happened when Edge and his back up hit the ring to attack Batista. They got the World Title back for Edge. Triple H ran down to make the save.

WWE Creative Team High on Lance Cade

According to various sources and WWE rumors, the creative team has big plans for Lance Cade.

They're having discussions on how to repackage the superstar. Look for him to slowly make his way toward main eventing as a heel, while continuing his partnership with Chris Jericho.

Is Lance Cade the next big heel in the WWE?

More WWE Draft News, Thoughts

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there were two surefire moves heading into Monday's WWE Draft:

  • Umaga to SmackDown
  • Rey Mysterio to Raw

Matt Hardy, meanwhile, was moved over to ECW because the feeling was that if he and Jeff appeared on the same brand, they would have to be a tag team; Vince McMahon prefers to keep them as singles stars.V

Also, with ECW losing CM Punk and Kane to WWE Raw, the brand obviously needed someone to soften the blow. We're not sure if Matt Hardy really qualifies as that individual, though, are you?

Booker T Speaks on King Booker, TNA Wrestling

From royalty to TNA Wrestling.

Booker T recently spoke to Great Britain's The Sun about his transition from the WWE to TNA Wrestling. Here are excerpts of that interview:

Do you miss being King Booker?
I definitely miss the character King Booker, no one can do a character like that and not miss it. I still do traits of it. I set out to be different to every other King that ever wore the crown.

Whenever anybody thinks of King Of The Ring from this day forward – they will always think of King Booker.

How do you find the atmosphere backstage at TNA compared to WWE?
Everybody here is loose and happy. There are a lot of young guys all working towards one common goal – making TNA mean something. There’s no animosity or backstabbing. There’s not all that testosterone flying around, with guys fighting to be on top.

Everyone here is having fun and that’s why I fit in, because even though I’m the oldest guy on the roster I’m still cracking jokes and playing computer games.

WWE Results: ECW, 6-24-08

Why Triple H was Moved to Smackdown

Of all the moves that took place during this week's WWE Draft, the most shocking was that of Triple H to Smackdown.

WWE rumors have been circulating, though, that the decision was based on personal reasons.

The schedule on Smackdown is actually a lot more convenient for Triple H, considering that wife Stephanie McMahon-Levesque is due to give birth in about a month. She'll be taking the babies on the road upon her return to work.

Makes sense to us. We also can't wait for an Edge vs. Triple H feud!

Smackdown vs. Raw: Which is the Best WWE Brand?

Following last night's WWE Draft, we can't help but wonder if Smackdown has taken the reigns from Raw as the company's top brand.

Consider the new Smackdown roster, highlighted by: Triple H, Edge, MVP, The Big Show, Jeff Hardy, Mr. Kennedy, Umaga, and even top announcer Jim Ross.

Now, compare that with Raw's best: John Cena, Batista, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, JBL, CM Punk, Shawn Michaels, and Rey Mysterio.

Which WWE brand do you prefer?

Batista on Cover of Muscle & Fitness

Following in the footsteps (or biceps, really) of Vince McMahon, Brock Lesnar, Triple H, Batista graces the most recent issue of Muscle & Fitness.

Here's a look:

Following the WWE Draft lottery, Batista is a member of the WWE Raw roster.
