Presidential Candidates to Appear on WWE RAW

WWE has been advertising a Barack Obama/Hilary Clinton match for tonight's three-hour RAW for weeks now - and we've been mocking it endlessly because, come on, was there any doubt this was simply leading to some stupid midget lookalikes squaring off inside the ring?

It looks like we may need to eat our elitist words, however.

While it's still unclear whether any sort of match will take place on the show, it does appear as though all three presidential candidates - Obama, Clinton and John McCain - will address WWE viewers in taped segments tonight. Pretty cool, funny stuff. Check it out:

Leticia Cline Updates Her Blog

Former TNA Wrestling announcer Leticia Cline claims she's been negotiating with World Wrestling Entertainment for a position in the company.

In her latest MySpace blog, Cline says she's had talks with the WWE several times, but scheduling is preventing any sort of deal from being finalized:

A lot of you have been asking what my status with TNA and WWE is so I thought I would do a mass blog to answer some of your questions. As of November 25, 2007 I was released from TNA after not seeing eye to eye with my contract and role on the show. I loved my time with TNA.

Might former TNA star Leticia Cline become one of the WWE Divas? We can hope and pray, can't we?

They are a great company and I truly am grateful for the year that I was with them. Wrestling is a very hard business to break into and an even harder one to stay in it. Since I didn’t come from a wrestling background and I had many other things going on for me I feel it worked against me as far as production was concerned. It was a constant struggle to get respect no matter how many times I would jump through hoops...

Chris Jericho Comments on Steroids (Not) in Wrestling

The Daily Press recently conducted an interview with Chris Jericho. In it, the star praisess the WWE Wellness Policy.

"They're not part of the business anymore," Y2J said. "They can't be. We've been strictly tested over the past couple of years, but they're not really necessary to wrestling. A lot of this is more about mind and personality."

WWE RAW Preview: Obama/Clinton, King of the Ring and More

Get ready for a special three-hour Monday Night RAW tonight. Here's the official preview, courtesy of WWE.com...

raw4-21-08.jpg As WWE Superstars return from the rich, royal tradition of the United Kingdom to American shores, the stars of Raw, SmackDown and ECW will compete for their own unique crowning glory.

For the first time in two years, a new King of the Ring will be decided in a one-night tournament that commences in the very first hour of a special three-hour episode of Raw.

It’s not known which Superstars will make up the tournament field, but be assured that the four men involved in the Fatal Four Way Match for the WWE Championship at Backlash – John Cena, John “Bradshaw” Layfield, Triple H and WWE Champion Randy Orton – will want to make their mark and gain momentum just days before their title tilt. A King of the Ring Tournament victory would do just that.

Also watching the tournament live at BI-LO Center will be Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, who have been invited to settle their Democrat differences in Greenville. What will happen as these two titans of the political world face off in the WWE ring?

With Shawn Michaels and Batista at odds over HBK’s retirement of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair at WrestleMania XXIV, look for sparks to fly if the two cross paths in the tournament or if they match up with their special guest referee at Backlash, Chris Jericho.

Also, the WWE Divas cheered as Mickie James ended The Glamazon’s dominance, stunning fans worldwide to claim her fourth Women’s Championship. How will Beth Phoenix react to the loss? And will other WWE Divas look to challenge the new champion, making her new reign a short one?

Maria Kanellis: Nude Pics are All Natural

As WWE fans continue to drool over Maria Kanellis nude in Playboy, the Diva has a message for those that have purchased her issue: ain't nothing fake about it.

“I'm all natural except my red hair," Maria recently said. "And I think that red shows my spirit and heart."

Maria, WWE Diva

As for the reaction to her naked spread, Maria couldn't be more pleased. She says it made her feel strong.

“Posing nude was very empowering. WWE Divas show our strength in the ring but we show our sex appeal and sweetness in shoots like this. I’m very comfortable in my own skin, I think every woman should be."

Smackdown Rating Drops Slightly

Friday night's 4/18 edition of WWE Smackdown drew a final 2.5 fast national rating. This mark is down slightly from last week's early 2.6 rating.

The show was highlighted by The Undertaker vs. Batista.

Matt Hardy Updates His Blog

Matt Hardy, currently part of the WWE Great Britan tour, took a moment this week to update his MySpace blog:

Hello from Birmingham, England!

Hello my peeps! So sorry i haven’t been able to check in with you guys recently. My schedule the last week or so has been uber-insane! Sooo.. I set aside a few minutes to make it a point to reach out to you guys and say hi. It’s almost 4 a.m. in Birmingham right now-time for me to get a few of those ZZZ’s. I’ve had a great yet challenging trip during the course of this European tour.

I hope my European MFer’s have or will have a chance to make it out to a Smackdown event while I’m here. Can’t wait to get back to a less hectic schedule - gotta train hard - I have a HUGE U.S. Title match coming up at Backlash! I hope everyone’s great and all is good.

Details on Brock Lesnar's Next UFC Fight

Brock Lesnar PhotographComing off a loss against Frank Mir in his UFC debu, Brock Lesnar is gearing up for his next fight in the octagon. The former WWE champion will fight Mark Coleman at UFC 87 on August 9.

This week Greg Nelson, one of Brock Lesnar's top trainers, had some interesting words to describe Lesnar's preparation and strategy heading into fight:

Brock is a bigger, faster and stronger wrestler, who also has knock out power with his hands, and he has a better submission game. If Mark attempts to take Brock down he will be sprawled on and end up on the bottom getting smashed.

If it stays standing, Brock will smash him with his boxing skills. Lastly, if Brock wants to, he will take Mark down and smash him. I predict Brock winning by smashing Mark with his size 4 XXL hands.

Will you order Brock Lesnar's next UFC fight on pay-per-view?
