Kurt Angle Touts TNA Wrestling Video Game

In an interview with VideoGamer.com at the launch of Midway's new licensed wrestling game, TNA Impact!, Kurt Angle slammed Smackdown vs. Raw for its "lack of effort and lack of ideas."

"Smackdown's game is going to look like all the other games in the past. I've been there. I know how much effort they put behind it," he said. "For each wrestler they usually take about two-and-a-half minutes and that's it. They (Midway) have actually spent hours with wrestlers to make this happen with TNA Impact!

You're going to see it's so much more authentic. It's a no brainer. We're going to win the war definitely."

Rey Mysterio Suffers Bicep Injury

Rey Mysterio suffered an apparent biceps injury at this week's SmackDown/ECW brand house show in Santiago, Chile.

Here is WWE.com's statement regarding the injury:

Rey Mysterio injured during South American tour
Rey Mysterio’s quest to regain the World Championship may have suffered a severe setback in Santiago, Chile, on Wednesday night.

The injury occurred during Wednesday’s live event at Arena Santiago, where Mysterio teamed with Kane against Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins. During the tag contest, Rey suffered an apparent injury to his right arm – specifically his bicep. Clearly in pain, the Master of the 619 gutted it out and finished the match, then was quickly examined by WWE athletic trainer Jason Crivello upon leaving the ring.

Mysterio flew back to the United States late Wednesday night, and is currently in Gulf Breeze, Fla., waiting to meet with world-renowned surgeon Dr. James Andrews, who will determine the extent of the injury.

Regardless of Dr. Andrews’ findings, Mysterio has his heart set on competing this Sunday night at No Way Out, where he is scheduled to face Edge for the World Championship.

Stone Cold Steve Austin Speaks!

Steve Austin recently chatted with The Miami Herald.

He talked about his new DVD, being offered a spot at WrestleMania 24, the "Stone Cold" Shark Boy gimmick in TNA, Mr. Kennedy and more. Here are some highlights:

On his new WWE DVD release:
"There are five or six of me on DVD already which covers a lot, but this one fills the gaps. It could have had some music, and there should have been more extras on it, but I'm happy with it."

On being offered a spot at WrestleMania 24 this year:
"There was a pitch thrown at me for WrestleMania [24 in Orlando], but I turned it down. I'd like to go to the Hall of Fame and see the guys get inducted. They got enough talent in WWE that they don't need me for WrestleMania, and it's not my desire to go back into the ring. If I really needed the money, I'd go back in the ring, but I've been conservative with my money and invested wisely. I have fond memories of the business, and I love the business, but I don't miss it."

On the "Stone Cold" Shark Boy gimmick in TNA Wrestling:
"I've heard about it. It doesn't anger me. If a guy is able to make a living on a rip-off, a spoof, making fun of me, whatever. I'm still with WWE. More power to him."

On Mr. Kennedy and his role in WWE:
"I saw back in the day, Ken Kennedy vs. Batista on TV. Batista is a good, big man, but he can be ornery and off at times. They had a really good match. I called Ken up out of the blue and said that was a heck of a match. We started being friends. He was a big fan of Stone Cold. He would call me and present me with ideas and questions. I give him my thoughts. I think there are too many voices, too many people in his head right now with WWE [too many chefs stirring the pot]. He's gonna be a big star. They just need to let him alone and let him do his thing."

heresa Hennessey, publicity director of the magazine, essentially said the same thing in a recent interview:.

- Jimmy Wang Yang, Shannon Moore, Jesse and Festus beat Hawkins, Ryder, Deuce and Domino in a short match. Not much to report on.

- Undertaker beat Big Daddy V with a chokeslam. Matt Striker got laid out after the match.

- Kane and CM Punk beat Chavo Guerrero and Shelton Benjamin. Punk went to school on Chavo for the win.

- Finlay, with Horny, beat The Great Khali after using the shillelagh.

- They then did a long deal where Edge "romantically" asked Vickie Guerrero to marry him. Of course, Rey Mysterio came out and said how horrible this was. Edge got mad. Rey came into the ring and the fight was on. The big spot was Edge moving and Rey nailing Vickie again. She got stretchered off.
