The Big Show Signs New Deal with WWE

According Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, Paul Wight - aka The Big Show - has signed a new deal with World Wrestling Entertainment.

Wight is said to be in excellent shape (losing weight and improving his back problems) since his departure from the company in December of 2006. This would add a needed volt of excitement to the roster, now that the fervor over Chris Jericho coming back has died down.

If true, who do you think The Big Show should feud with upon his return?

Chris Harris Joins WWE

Vince McMahon Versus Britney Spears

Dr. Elan Pfil is a psychiatrist that recently penned a column for WWE.com. Its focus? A comparison between Vince McMahon and Britney Spears.

Here's an excerpt:

Everyone is wondering exactly what’s next for Britney after she had an apparent meltdown last week that led to her hospitalization and losing custody of her children. As she has shown for most of the past year, 'mini-meltdowns' seem to be the norm for the troubled pop princess.

From flashing her pantyless privates for all the paparazzi to see, to shearing her long blond locks to smashing up the windows of an SUV outside of the home of her ex, Kevin Federline, Britney’s been screaming for help for a long time.

And so has Mr. McMahon.

WWE Rumors: Everyone Hates Triple H

Triple H is rumored to be the most disliked person in WWE right now. How come?

For starters, a number of people were upset that he didn't put over Ric Flair last week in what will likely be his final match in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Triple H has always had heat, but it really picked up over the summer when he essentially squashed Booker T at SummerSlam. A large number of people within the company believe the ordeal with Triple H is the reason why Booker T left.

Furthermore, Triple H also buried Chris Jericho before he had even arrived.

In a sarcastic manner, Triple H was going around to anyone who would listen saying that the company may have had some rough stretches in the past, but they were going to be fine again because "their savior" was coming back. The feeling in the locker room was that he was especially vindictive about Jericho because his wife Stephanie was a big proponent of bringing him back.

The Think Tank: Wrestlemania 24 Matches

Well, hello again kids. Sorry for the lengthy delay. The Think Tank is back up and running and just in time for the best part of the wrestling year.

The best pay-per-view of the year, Royal Rumble, is right around the corner and two months later, yours truly will be attending Wrestlemania 24 in Orlando. Good times ahead.

Thinking about these upcoming events got me wondering what blockbuster matches we could be looking forward to at the big dance. So, perhaps we can all have a little discussion on The Wrestling Post about which main event matches are most likely to become to reality at Wrestlemania.

Naturally, we need to talk about this before the Royal Rumble because the Rumble's results will directly influence the main event in March. Here's what I hope to see at Wrestlemania 24:

Wrestlemania 24Best overall: John Cena vs. Batista
How about title for title? Why not? We can always make another title for the losers' show later right? And didn't these two have a run-in a few years back at a rumble? I think this would have real potential if The Animal can keep up with Cena.

The long shot: Jeff Hardy vs. Bobby Lashley
Could Hardy actually carry the title? Is there time to mix him up with Lashley before mania? I'd love to find out.

Smackdown's Best: The Undertaker vs. Rey Mysterio
I would love to update this with someone better then Rey, but most of the expected matchups involving the Taker have been done.

Dare we suggest ECW? Shelton Benjamin vs. CM Punk

Could we possibly pick "wrestlers" over entertainers?

Others likely candidates for matches...

  • Randy Orton vs. Ric Flair
  • Randy Orton vs. Triple H
  • Shawn Michels vs. Triple H
  • Edge vs. Batista
  • Edge vs. Rey Mysterio
  • Batista vs. Big Daddy V
