According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter...
- Britney Spears has been mentioned quite a bit as of late on the company website and television broadcasts. Reportedly, there's a reason for this: she may appear on WWE TV!
Writers Brian Gewirtz and Michael Hayes supposedly know something that others aren't aware of. Rumors are swirling that all mentions of the train wreck are planned because there were talks of using her in late 2006 in the Kevin Federline angle - but the couple's separation from him put an end to that.
WWE approached her again to do a Royal Rumble-to-WrestleMania storyline, but she was such a mess at the time that they went with Donald Trump instead. The mess part certainly hasn't changed, however.
- Ron Killings has agreed a WWE deal, though he has yet to sign a contract. First, he has to pass medical and drug tests.
When he starts up in WWE again, his ring name will be "KWIK" Ron Killings. He'll likely appear on either SmackDown or ECW because Raw writer Brian Gewirtz has vocally opposed WWE bringing back the former TNA Wrestling star.
We're discovered the identity of Awesome Kong's associate that debuted at Final Resolution.
The individual under the burkha is indy wrestler Melissa Anderson (a.k.a. Cheerleader Melissa). It's been confirmed Anderson's role in TNA will be to cut promos for Kong during her heel title run, while also interfering in her matches.
Here's a scary look at Awesome Kong:
A top TNA Wrestling official has responded to the news that iMPACT overtoom ECW in the ratings last week.
"This week's Impact on Spike TV set a TNA viewership record with 1.623 million viewers, translating to a rating of 1.22. ECW on Sci Fi drew a 1.1 rating, so Impact outdrew ECW by 10 percent. Impact had never beaten ECW before."
The official added: "TNA wrestling would like to thank all of our loyal fans for helping to make this happen. It's just one of many milestones we hope to accomplish in 2008!"
We've added seven new photos to our wrestling pictures gallery over the last few days.

Jeff Hardy appeared on the Between the Ropes radio show today. He was asked about his upcoming match at the Royal Rumble with Randy Orton:
âBy far it is. As an individual single wrestler by far it is, because this is the closest Iâve ever been to being the WWE Champion. I would say that in itself makes it the biggest match of my career.â
Hardy admited he was too mentally exhausted and immature to hold such a main event position earlier in his career.
âA lot of people saw me as being this huge star back then, but at the time I was just so burned out and tired of wrestling and I just had to get away from it for a while. And that was my feeling then, I just really didnât feel ready for it.
So I really did need to grow and mature with myself to be ready for a position like this, and the time away and coming back and having such a great return has really done a lot for me, and it made me feel ready for all the pressure that comes along with a position like this.â
We'd prefer not to give The Ultimate Warrior a millisecond of attention. But we also wish to take every opportunity possible to point out how much of a whack job this guy is.
The former WWE superstar, known for his over-the-top conservative views, has laid into Heath Ledger. The Warrior has gone as far as to say Heath's infant daughter is better off without a father such as this.
"His kid is without a father, yes, but the negative influence is now removed and his own child has the chance for a full recovery," the insensitive moron wrote on his personal blog.
The Ultimate Warrior also felt the need to insult Hulk Hogan's parenting skills, saying: "He insists on sticking around ruining, and profiting off of, the parentally mismanaged lives of his own children."
How do you feel about The Warrior's comments? What would be the best way to send him into a perpetual coma? Let us know right now at our FORUM.
Would Rob Van Dam ever join TNA Wrestling?
That question was asked of the former WWE star in a recent long chat with The Baltimore Sun. Here is RVD's reply:
I definitely would consider them. I would weigh out everything and decide what really is the best thing to do. When I knew that I wasnât going to re-sign with WWE, which was around WrestleMania time when I knew for sure that I was going to stick to that plan, my first thoughts were, âOK, well thereâs this TNA. I could go there to continue my career, still on television, but with a much-lighter schedule.â
Towards the end I was so burned out on wrestling that I didnât even want to do that. So, I said, âWell, Iâll travel around and sign autographs,â because Iâve always enjoyed doing that. I do that at comic conventions, sporting conventions, gaming conventions, celebrity signing conventions, whatever. I can always keep busy doing that, but towards the end, I was so burned out on travel that I didnât want to do that either.
I just wanted to stay home in California and not fly, with the exception of a few dates. I went to England, Australia and New Zealand because they were good trips and I was able to bring my wife, and they were good financial deals.
