Eve Torres Dishes on WWE Diva Search Victory

Following her victory in the 2007 WWE Diva Search, Eve Torres spoke with FHM. Here are highlights from the interview.

Eve Torres Picture

It seemed like there were a lot of catfights between the WWE Diva Search contestants this year.
It’s interesting because when we were all together during the competitions there wasn’t a lot of cattiness going on. Everything was pretty professional. But once the eliminations started happening that’s when the cattiness began. It brought out the competitive side of everyone. For some people, that means putting others down and that’s kind of what happened. When the competition came down to Brooke [Gilbertsen] and I, we were forced to talk about each other on national television. I didn’t let what she said get to me too much, but I definitely have my thoughts about it.

What did Brooke say about you?
She basically called me a man and it didn’t go over very well with the fans. I’m very athletic and I’m tall, but I’m extremely confident with my body. So I didn’t really react to it because I knew in my heart that it was going to backfire against her. And it did.

Has it sunk in yet that your whole life is going to change now that you’re a WWE Diva?
It hit me a week ago when it was down to Brooke and I. I was just completely overwhelmed by the fact that my entire life could change. I wouldn’t have believed you if you told me a year ago that I’d be here today.

What’s your biggest fear about being in WWE?

My biggest fear would be having WWE fans feel like they chose the wrong person, but I’m not going to let that happen. That’s a goal of mine to make all those who voted for me recognize that I was a worthwhile addition.

So which Diva are you going to be gunning for?

I’ve learned a lot from Candice Michelle and I think she’s a great Diva. It would be great to go against her when she’s all healed up. But ultimately I want to be the champion.

WWE Results: ECW, 12-11-07

cm-punk.jpg Kane & CM Punk v. Deuce & Domino
Kane tagged in after awhile and the big red machine began cleaning house. Punk hit a back body drop before booting the oncoming Deuce. Kane hit a pair of running clotheslines and a side slam before scaling the ropes and delivering the flying lariat. Kane signaled for a clothesline and caught both men.

He passed one to CM Punk who hit GTS. Kane hit a choke slam on Domino and that’s all she wrote.
Winners: CM Punk & Kane via pin fall

The Miz & John Morrison v. Jimmy Yang Wang & Shannon Moore
Miz got the early advantage on the smaller Moore trying to impose his strength on the wee man before Moore fired back with a slap. Miz took Exception and laid in a series of forearms but missed a clothesline and ate a couple of arm drags and a neck breaker for a one count.

Eventually, Miz tossed Moore aside and hanged up Wang, who bobbled back to the middle of the ring and got nailed with the corkscrew neck breaker and that’s all she wrote.
Winners: John Morrison & The Miz via pin fall

Layla & Victoria v. Kelly Kelly
Victoria tossed Kelly Kelly to the mat a few times before Layla tagged in and hit another leg drop before a nifty double team wheel barrel splash for a two count. Kelly’s still fighting. The double team backfires and Kelly uncorks some clotheslines before tossing Layla like yesterday’s meat. Kelly went for a cover but got nailed with a double drop kick to the head. She tags in to make her all legal like and hit a brutal knee to the face before leaving the scraps for Layla. Layla hit’s a boot to the grill and that’s that.
Winners: Layla & Victoria

Elijah Burke is in the ring cutting a promo. He says ECW is his turf and Batista will fall to the Elijah Experience.

Batista v. Elijah Burke

The match started quickly with Batista hammering Burke all over the ring until Burke avoided a charge in the corner and sent the champion clattering into the ring post. Burke kept it up with the short but stinging offense mixed in with some rest holds to wear the Animal down.

Batista was able to power out of the hold and then crushed Burke with a standing spine buster. He whipped Burke to the corner and followed up with a clothesline before laying the boots to the black pope in the corner.

Burke fired back and tripped Batista up in the corner and set up for the Elijah Express. Batista turned around and absolutely split Burke in half with a SUPER HUGE spear. Burke is totally dead. No like seriously dead. Batista gathered him and Batista bombed him on his head and that’s that.
Winner: Batista via pin fall

Batista Opens Up About Various Superstars

Batista has an interview with the U.K. Sun where he comments on fellow WWE superstars, including Melina, Randy Orton, Vince McMahon, Chris Benoit and The Great Khali.

A Pic of Batista Regarding his relationship with Melina: "It started out completely innocently, but I just fell in love with her. It’s been on and off for a long time and I still love her death. But I can’t see us getting married. I still don't think I'm over my ex-wife."

Regarding Randy Orton: "I told Randy I'm so proud of him, he’s finally found himself as a person and as a wrestler. He was lost for a while, he didn’t know who he was or who his character was. I think he’s going to carry this business for a long time."

On Chris Benoit: "We were very close. It’s a pretty big statement, but I always tell people Chris was the most honorable man I’ve ever met up until the day he killed his family."

His take on Vince McMahon: "He's just a regular guy. Everybody’s terrified of him at first, but Vince wants you to be comfortable with him. He's very intimidating, especially when he’s p***ed at you, but at the same time he doesn’t make you feel like he’s your boss."

On The Great Khali: "I didn’t think he deserved the world championship. I don’t want to say it made me sick to my stomach to see the title in his hands, but it really did make me sick to my stomach."

WWE, Wrestlemania 24 Spoilers

Here is the current line of thinking as far as planned WWE titles and Wrestlemania 24 matches go:

- Triple H will defeat Jeff Hardy at Armageddon and Randy Orton will defeat Chris Jericho.

- The plan for the Wrestlemania 24 main event right now is Triple H vs. Batista, with Triple H winning the World Title at the Royal Rumble and Batista dropping his belt around the same time.

- In order to set this up, Batista would almost have to win the Royal Rumble because he could then choose to face either brand's champion.

- No Way Out's main event is scheduled to be an Elimination Chamber match, with that victor getting a shot at his brand's championship.

Shane, Stephanie and Hornswoggle all confront Vince about having "relations" with Mae Young. Vince admits it was at Moolah's funeral and that he had way too much to drink.

Triple H then introduced anyone Vince attempted to make love to. Out comes Howard Finkel, Pat Patterson (Triple H said this one didn't surprise him), Bastion Booger, Gerald Brisco, Big Dick Johnson and Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz (aka the Brooklyn Brawler). Stephanie gets on the mic and said Vince has embarassed her enough and now it was time for her to embarass him. Stephanie then kisses Triple H. Vince said he hates Triple H and everyone else can go straight to hell. Triple H then consoles a disappointed Hornswoggle.

He said he knows he is upset and wondered if someone in the back could cheer him up by just the sounds of his music. The Godfather's music hits and he comes out with the HO TRAIN. Jim Ross adds that even Pat Patterson is smiling. Hornswoggle gets excited and starts hugging Triple H. They all celebrate. The crowd is absolutly dead for The Godfather's entrance.

6033940.jpeg WWE Intercontinenal Championship - Ladder Match: Jeff Hardy (c) vs. Carlito
Match kicks off with Carlito rolling out of the ring and hitting Jeff Hardy with a ladder when Hardy charged at him through the ropes. Hardy pulls Carlito off the ladder he setup in the ring, but gets taken down with a clothesline. Hardy launches the ladder into Carlito from the corner. They brawl to the outside and Carlito pushes the ladder into the gut of Hardy against the ring barricade. The ladder is still up against the barricade and Hardy catches Carlito with a dropkick from the ring apron, sending Carlito flying back into the ladder. Hardy sets up another ladder, climbs, Carlito springboards off the top rope, lands on the ladder and takes out Hardy with a huge sunset flip off the top of the ladder as we head to a commercial break.

Santino Marella vs. Rob Van Dam
Huge reaction for RVD in Bridgeport. This one didn't last very long as RVD took out Santino with a big kick followed by the Five Star Frog Splash. He turned to the crowd and did the R-V-D pose, covered Santino and got the pinfall.

Orton has a mic in hand and said he didn't come out here to join them. He reminds them he is the WWE Champion and the only reason they want him down there is so they can ride off his current wave of success. Orton pointed out the last time he was champion and was in the ring with them, he was attacked. Flashback to August 2004 when Orton defeated Chris Benoit for the World Heavyweight Title and was attacked the night afterwards on Raw by Evolution.

Back live, Triple H says he does remember that and thought it was pretty cool. He said if it makes him feel any better, they beat him up because he was a pain in the ass and not because he was World Champion. Orton said he would keep that in mind this Sunday when he beats Chris Jericho to retain the WWE Title. Orton then brings up his past with Rated RKO and introduces Edge. Edge comes out and he shakes hands with Orton. Edge said another funny thing is, Batista won't be walking away World Champion this Sunday at Armageddon.

Hornswoggle vs. The Great Khali

The bell rings and Hornswoggle tries to avoid Khali by running under his legs. Khali gets Hornswoggle and as this goes down... Hulk Hogan's music hits.

Hogan is sporting the old black and white attire. Hogan gets in the ring and stares down Khali. Hogan starts hulking up, blocks a right hand from Khali, but Khali catches him with a kick to the gut and a few shots over the back. Hogan starts hulking up, catches Khali with right hands, goes off the ropes and takes out Khali with another big right. Khali rolls out of the ring and Hogan calls him back in.

Hogan poses to the crowd that he could lift up Khali and slam him. Hogan shakes hands with Hornswoggle and then gets up on the ropes yelling at Khali who is leaving the ringside area. Hornswoggle is clapping for Hogan as Hogan grabs a mic.

Hogan says it sounds to him that Hulkamania is still alive and well...brothers. He said he wants to thank everyone for keeping the dream alive and congratulates WWE for tonight's Anniversary and calls WWE the greatest wrestling company of all time. Hogan said there is nothing like being in this very ring and watching the brand new stars of WWE do their thing. He said he was proud to be invited here tonight. Hogan said he misses the fans and never say never (when he said the last part, he added in a Randy Savage "OH YEAH" impression). He plugs his involvement with American Gladiators and asks to hear it one more time from the fans. Hogan and Hornswoggle celebrate some more. REALLY lame mic segment.

WWE RAW Preview: Three-Hour 15th Anniversary Special

The following was released by WWE.com:

It will be a night of celebration as Monday Night Raw celebrates its 15th anniversary with a three-hour spectacular.

6011810.jpegA host of WWE legends and alumni have been invited to honor the most groundbreaking show in sports-entertainment: Hulk Hogan, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Mick Foley, Eric Bischoff, Sunny, Trish Stratus and Lita are just a few on the list of invitees.

Many of these Superstars have one thing in common: They all have had heated wars with Mr. McMahon. The Chairman’s daughter, Stephanie McMahon, has warned her father not to show up at the anniversary celebration because she fears his many enemies may be gunning for him.

But Mr. McMahon will not be deterred, as he is determined to name the greatest Superstar in Raw’s history. Who will be named Raw’s greatest Superstar? You have to tune in to Raw’s special 15th anniversary celebration to find out.

However, Mr. McMahon will have more than his enemies on his mind. Tonight, his entire family, including his illegitimate son, Hornswoggle, will be posing for a family portrait. How will all the members of the McMahon clan react to the little leprechaun in their first public appearance as a complete unit?

Armageddon is less than one week away and the rivalry between Chris Jericho and Randy Orton is heating up as their WWE Championship Match approaches. What will these two do to try to get an advantage before Armageddon?

And what about Triple H and Jeff Hardy? Their match at Armageddon will determine who will challenge for the WWE Championship at Royal Rumble. These two dynamic Superstars have mutual respect for one another, but will that fade as Armageddon approaches? Either way, the challenges won't stop for the "Rainbow-haired Warrior." As seen first in an exclusive video on WWE Mobile at AT&T, Carlito will challenge Hardy in a Ladder Match on the 15th Anniversary Celebration of Raw.

Raw's 15th anniversary celebration will also include some surprise reunions - like the reunion of Evolution. WWE Champion Randy Orton, World Heavyweight Champion Batista, Triple H and Ric Flair have all walked separate paths since their days as a unit. How will they react to their reunion, especially with a egomaniac like Orton involved?

Ron Killings: Gone From TNA Wrestling

Ron Killings announced in a bulletin through has MySpace page that he and TNA Wresting have come to a mutual agreement on his release:

Ron "The Truth" Killings and TNA Wrestling have come to a mutual agreement on his release. Killings wishes TNA Wrestling the best. Killings is looking forward to continue his wrestling career and looking to go back to his original stomping grounds.

WWE Rumors: Tide Turning Against Chris Jericho

Sources are saying that Chris Jericho's feud with Randy Orton will be short-lived.

Y2J may move on to a "war of words" feud with JBL, cultimating in a match at WrestleMania 24. Which would be quite a let down for those who thought Jericho would pump life into the main event scene.

Some people within WWE are already disappointed with Jericho's mic work, in-ring work and mild crowd reaction.
