WWE Rumors: Layla El on Way Out

With the departure of Brooke Adams, the next obvious question relates to the future of Extreme Expose.

It's possible that Adams gets replaced by 2007 WWE Diva Search winner Eve Torres, who has a dance background similar to Layla El because she was a member of the Los Angeles Clippers dance team. But if the group doesn't stay active, the belief is that Layla will be released.

Layla and Kelly Kelly accompanied The Miz to matches at house shows last weekend, but on Tuesday's ECW show, it appeared they were broken up because they wrestled each other. We'll have more on this as it develops.

Chris Jericho Return: It's Official

The latest issue of WWE Magazine prematurely reveals that Chris Jericho is on his way back to the company.

Jericho is featured on the cover with the tagline: "The real story behind Jericho's shocking return."

The photo features a devious-looking Jericho plugging two power cords together.

The wrestler's long awaited return to the ring has been expected for several months. Sources believe he will officially appear on television at next week's edition of RAW.

The following report is courtesy of lordsofpain.net...

We begin with Batista making a surprise appearance. The crowd goes crazy, the pyro heats the place up, and the World Heavyweight Champion makes his way to the ring.

Batista grabs the mic and says it's good to be back on Raw, although he's grown quite fond of Smackdown. He says he was invited by William Regal to take on some Raw competition. Although he appreciates the invitation, Regal made a mistake:Batista is gearing up for Survivor Series, for Hell in a Cell, and for the Undertaker. He'll be locked in a cell with a man who wants to kill him, but there are no rules - and weapons are not only welcome, but allowed. So, before his victim comes out, Batista has a message for the Undertaker...

DONG! The bells ring and the Undertaker arrives on Raw! Taker makes his way to the ring and takes his coat off, ready to fight. The men square off, but Regal's music hits. Regal says he invited both of them for competition, but it's not against each other. Tonight, they'll be partners against the finest tag team on Raw. Cade and Murdoch's theme hits, and the World tag-team champs come down to do battle with the Animal and the Dead Man.

He tags Cade back in, and they do the atomic leg drop on Batista, resulting in a 2 count. Batista powers back to his feet, and delivers a spinebuster to the charging Cade. Batista spears Murdoch, as Undertaker measures up Cade and delivers a tombstone for the 1, 2, 3!
Winners: Batista and Undertaker

Batista grabs Murdoch and delivers the Batista-bomb. The Animal and the Dead Man stare each other down in the center of the ring.

Beth Phoenix v. Maria

Beth Phoenix stalks Maria, slamming her down. Maria gets Beth in the corner, and puts a boot in her face. Beth strikes back, throwing Maria down into the splits, then kicking her a few times. Maria comes back a stiff boot to the head, followed with a head scissors, but Beth reverses into a standing surfboard. MVP sends Rey into the ropes, but Rey reverses and hits a DDT on MVP. Vince McMahon is in the ring. He talks up the Survivor Series match between Randy Orton and HBK, and then introduces HBK. Shawn comes out to the usual crowd reaction. Vince then introduces Randy Orton, who gets resounding boos. Both men face each other in the ring, with Vince there to moderate. HBK says that he's aware of the stipulations for their match, and he's aware of who come up with them. Orton reiterates what the rules are, and HBK interupts and says that he knows the rules. Orton says that he is sick of being told that he intentionally disqualified at Cyber Sunday when he just defended himself. HBK says that the reason Orton got the Super Kick banned was because Orton has been feasting on it for the last five weeks, and at Survivor Series, it would have been number six.

WWE Issues Statement Deriding CNN for John Cena Quote, Coverage

As previously reported, CNN ran a documentary last week entitled "Death Grip: Inside Pro Wrestling." In it, the network made it seem as though John Cena admitted to steroid use, quoting the wrestler as follows:

5835016.jpg People conceive things because performance enhancing drugs have got the spotlight. It's a hot thing to talk about. I can't tell you that I haven't, but you'll never be able to prove that I have.

Consequently, WWE is steaming mad at CNN, claiming it didn't air the entire quote or interview. Here's the issue WWE official just released on the topic:

"In a country in which the news media is highly suspect, and the quality of unbiased reporting has been thrown into the trash can, CNN has stooped to new depths. Notwithstanding the fairness, or lack therein, of CNN's recent piece entitled "Death Grip: Inside Pro Wrestling," perhaps the best example of how CNN misrepresents and unfairly presents their biased, if not illegal, point of view is the comparison of WWE's unedited video above to CNN's edited version.

CNN's depiction of John Cena as it relates to steroids is not only professionally and morally wrong, but damaging to his character."

Survivor Series captains Triple H and Mr. Kennedy will face each other in a Lumberjack Match this Monday on Raw, and the GMs of Raw, SmackDown and ECW have announced that the remaining eight members of the opposing teams be the lumberjacks.

With Rey Mysterio, Kane, and Matt and Jeff Hardy backing The Game on one side and Finlay, Big Daddy V, MVP and Umaga giving Kennedy support on the other, Monday’s match could give a preview of what the Traditional Elimination Match at Survivor Series will be like.

On Thursday, the cocky, loudmouth Kennedy appointed himself the captain of his Survivor Series team and immediately challenged The Game, who wasted no time accepting.

With all 10 men involved in the Traditional Elimination Match under the same roof and the same time, Raw could potential see a volatile situation this Monday. Will all hell break loose? Tune in to Raw on Monday night and find out.

Shawn Michaels has floored WWE Champion Randy Orton with Sweet Chin Music an astonishing five weeks in a row. Will HBK be looking to make it a six-pack this week on Raw? Or will the champ be able to regain some momentum heading into Survivor Series?

TNA Genesis Results

logo.gif - Abyss defeated Black Reign in a Shop of Horrors Match. TNA placed weapons around the ringside area as the announcers remind us that anything goes. Abyss cracked a big board over the head of Reign followed by sending him through a wall. They brawled to the entrance ramp area and Reign gave Abyss a quick suplex over a few trash cans. Abyss got a barbed wire bat and hit Reign with it a few times. They did a big spot where Abyss chokeslammed Reign off the stage. Believe it or not, a board full of rap traps was revealed and put in the ring by Abyss. The finish saw James Mitchell try to interfere, but Abyss put Reign's rat down his clothes and Abyss took a shot on the board full of rat traps. Abyss then dodged a brass knucks shot and hit a Black Hole Slam for the win. After the match, Abyss unlocked a black box at ringside. Inside was a wrestler with a red mask on. The wrestler beat up Abyss, put him in a box and pushed it off the entrance ramp.

- The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) defeated Team 3D. Very solid tag team match between these two teams. Sabin and Shelley attacked 3D during their entrance. The action spilled to the ring and 3D bailed from the ring early on when MCMG got in some offense. Sabin got taken out later on with some 3D double team moves. Brother Ray crotched both Sabin and Shelley on the turnbuckles when they were posing. Tons of quick offense by MCMG on Brother Devon at this point in the match. Ray pulled the referee out of the ring when Sabin had a pinfall on Devon. Ray then took off his belt and started whipping Sabin with it. Doomsday Device by 3D on Sabin, but Sabin kicked out during the close pinfall. 3D brought a table into the ring and put it in the corner despite the referee trying to prevent them from doing so. The finish saw Sabin run up the table, flip back and then send Devon through the table. MCMG then hit a double enziguiri kick on Ray to get the pinfall.

- Gail Kim defeated ODB, Roxxi Laveaux & Angel Williams in a Four Way Women's Match to retain the TNA Women's Title. Not much here as it was a fairly quick match. ODB was acting crazy throughout the match and the fans in Orlando seemed confused. The referee sent VKM to the back early on. ODB then continued the crazy and started slapping the ass of all the women in the ring. The finish saw Roxxi spit mist into the eyes of ODB allowing Kim to hit a modified neckbreaker on ODB to get the pinfall. After the match, Awesome Kong appeared and stared down Gail Kim.

- Jay "Black Machismo" Lethal defeated Sonjay Dutt to retain the TNA X Division Title. Dutt took out Lethal early on with a quick flip dive over the top rope to the outside. Lots of quick back and forth action between the two early on as well. Dutt grounded the action by applying a body scissors submission on Lethal. Another quick spot saw Lethal hit a suicide dive through the ropes on Dutt on the outside. Dutt responded with a Camel Clutch on Lethal in the ring. The finish saw Lethal hit the Lethal Combination followed by a flying elbow off the top rope to get the pinfall on Dutt to retain the title. After the match, Lethal and Dutt hugged and then So Cal Val was invited in. Team 3D then ran out and started attacking Lethal and Dutt. Ray got on the mic and said Sabin and Shelley cheated. Ray said they were taking the X Division Title hostage and left with the belt.

- AJ Styles & Tomko defeated The Steiner Brothers to retain the TNA World Tag Team Titles. The match started off early on with AJ Styles and Scott Steiner. Scott kept taking out out Styles, causing Tomko and Rick to get tags. Scary moment saw Rick hit Tomko with a botched Death Valley Driver. Tomko looked a bit dazed, but responded with a quick clothesline on Rick. Scott got the tag and Styles and Tomko did some double-teaming. Tomko broke up a pinfall attempt on AJ after a top rope bulldog by Rick went down. The finish saw the referee get bumped allowing Styles to hit a low blow on Rick followed by a steel chair shot.
