Monday Night Raw Preview, 10-22-07

Here is the official WWE RAW preview heading into tonight...

Less than a week before Cyber Sunday, all four Superstars involved in the WWE Championship Match in sports-entertainment's most interactive event will be in the same ring at the same time. WWE Champion Randy Orton will team with one potential challenger, Mr. Kennedy, against two other prospective Cyber Sunday opponents, Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy & Shawn Michaels.

With Hardy, Kennedy and Michaels in full campaign mode and appealing for your vote, how will that impact the tag team encounter? Who will best make their case to be Orton’s opponent for the WWE Championship six days later in the nation’s capital?

Find out when the Superstars of Raw come the Qwest Arena in Omaha, Neb.

Candice Michelle is invoking her No Mercy rematch clause to try and regain her Women’s Championship from the beautiful, but deadly, Glamazon, Beth Phoenix. Will Candice be able to pull the upset and earn a second title reign as the top WWE Diva?

Or, as promised, will the Glamazon make the former champ bow down to her sheer strength and might?

After Umaga’s powerful demonstration of brutality in the United Kingdom, will Triple H show up in Omaha to face the McMahon-backed monster that brutally attacked him two weeks ago? What will the conniving Chairman of WWE, Mr. McMahon, have in store for The Game?

WWE News: Pay-Per-View Dropped

WWE has dropped New Year's Revolution from its pay-per-view schedule for 2008 and beyond. The 2008 edition was scheduled to take place on January 6.

The announcement comes after WWE also let go of December to Dismember from the pay-per-view schedule earlier in the year. The company noticed that it did better than expected buys for SummerSlam this year, with five weeks in between pay-per-view, and that the pay-per-views that weren't doing well were the ones that were sandwiched in between several other shows.

There will now be six weeks in between Armageddon on December 16 and the Royal Rumble on January 27.

WWE Spoilers: Smackdown Main Event Announced

In an effort to hype up Cyber Sunday, the main event for next week's edition of Smackdown will feature WWE Tag Team Champions Matt Hardy & MVP against the unlikely team of Rey Mysterio & Finlay in a non-title bout.

WWE Spoilers: Smackdown Results, 10-19-07

Great Khali vs. Kane
Great Khali got more of a reaction than he seems to on TV. Plenty of heat. Once again the Big Red Machine comes out to a very big pop. The match is a bit clumsy, but ends pretty decently, with Kane winning by DQ, as Khali chokes him with a wire. Kane then retaliates by flooring Khali with the bell. However Big Daddy V then comes out, and takes down Kane with a big Samoan drop.

Chuck Palumbo vs. Chris Masters

Palumbo comes out to a semi-decent pop, while Masters gets pretty good heat. A fairly solid match, which Masters wins, when Victoria destracts Michelle McCool, which in turn distracts Chuck. Masters gets the role up and the tights.

Matt Hardy vs. Finlay
Before the match, MVP says he will have Hardy's back. Hardy says thanks but no thanks. The match itself was pretty good. Hardy gets a very good pop, while Finlay gets a mixed reaction. During the match, the crowd were going to and fro with 'Lets go Hardy', 'Lets go Finlay' etc. Match ends when Finlay goes to get the shillelaigh, MVP comes out and pushes the shillelaigh away from Finlay, which lets Matt hit the Twist of Fate for the win.

Drew McIntyre vs. Brian Major
McIntyre comes out with Dave Taylor. Very quiet match for the crowd, many took the chance for a bathroom break. Couple of 'boring' chants too. Nothing special, but McIntyre gets the win.

JBL comes into the ring to interview Batista. JBL says people are voting for him to be the special referee in Batista-'Taker match at Cyber Sunday, and gets everyone to chant his name. The crowd replied J..B..L...sucks. Batista comes out to one of the biggest pops of the night (as expected). Few words exchanged and then Batista starts to leave the ring. JBL calls him a coward before Batista leaves, then Batista turns around and spears JBL out of his shoes.

Deuce 'n' Domino vs. Shannon Moore/Jimmy Wang Yang

Fairly quick, but decent match. Yang gets the win with a moonsault off the top.

Undertaker vs. Jamie Noble
Noble comes out scared. Very quick match, which Taker wins with a choke slam, then tombstone. After the match Noble seems to be injured, and a few refs come down to help him back. He gets some good positive support from the crowd, too.

MVP vs. Rey Mysterio

Huge pop for Rey, MVP gets a big reaction too, very mixed. A solid match, with MVP getting the DQ win. Finlay interferes and attacks MVP to get revenge for earlier. He then goes after Rey, who gets the better of him eventually, and the show finishes with Rey celebrating.

WWE Results: ECW, 10-16-07

John Morrison comes out and tells the audience to vote for him at Cyber Sunday. He then shows a replay of last week's main event where he pinned CM Punk for a non title win. As he begins his usual slogans (Tuesday night Delight, new face of extreme), he is interrupted by the Miz.

ecw.jpgThe Miz claims to be a chick magnet. Morrison chuckles and responds by saying he is sports entertainment and is bigger than anyone on the ECW roster. Big Daddy V makes his way down to the ring. Striker speaks for Big V saying the “mastadon” is much bigger than the two combined and at Cyber Sunday if he is picked as Punk’s opponent, he will become the new champion. Out comes C.M Punk.

He looks at his three potential stars for the PPV and says that they all made valid points and goes on to praise Morrison and Big V. When he gets to Miz, he just says that no one likes him period. He then states that GM Estrada gave Punk to choose a partner, but that doesn’t mean the superstar has to be apart of the ECW roster. Punk introduces his partner to be Kane and the crowd goes crazy.

Match 1: 3 on 2 Handicap Match – Punk & Kane v. Morrison, Miz, Big V
Bell rings and the match is underway with Punk being the aggressor on Morrison. Moments later, Punk tags in Kane who gets a good ovation from the crowd and Kane begins to hammer Morrison. Morrison slips through Kanes clutches and tags in Miz who obviously recieves a lot of heat. Punk is tagged back in, but is found to be on the receiving end of many submission holds, including Big V’s weight being pushed against Punks upper abdomen. Minutes later, Punk and Miz trade shots, but Miz gets gets the upper hand and closelines Punk over the top rope as we go to break.

Back, we see Punk being worked on by Morrison. Miz tags in and strickes with several kicks to Punk’s head. A “we want Kane” chant breaks out. Punk suplex’s Miz and gets the hot tag to Kane. Kane dominates Morrison with numerous blows and big boots and finally his flying clothesline. Miz breaks the count at 2 but gets thrusted out of the ring. Morrison tags in Big V as he and Kane stare each other down. Kane strikes first with a few punches, but eventually falls to after a massive clothesline. Kane is in the corner and Big V attempts his body splash but Kane dodges it and sends Big V straight to the turnbuckle. Miz gets a blind tag in as Kane knocks Big V out of the ring. Miz goes up to the top rope and tries to nail a double axe handle on Kane, but is caught in position of the chokeslam. Punk then kicks Morrison back out of the ring and Kane hits his finishing move. This bout is over.

We are backstage where Morrison approaches Miz and argues what went wrong in the ring. Morrison blames Miz that the loss agains Punk/Kane is costing him votes for Cyber Sunday. He calls Miz a loser and challenges him so Miz can lose once more in the same night. Miz declines, but then sucker punches Morrison and accepts the match while Morrison is layed out.

Further backstage, Balls Mahoney is interviewd by Styles and Tazz. They ask about his opinions of what went down last week when Miz kicked the teddy bear in the audience. Mahoney says its not fair that Miz owns contracts of E.E. Suddenly, Kelly Kelly arrives and asks Mahoney if he would like to go out with her. Mahoney gladly accepts and they are shown leaving together.

Even further backstage, Vickie Guerrero and Estrada are shown backstage. The two agree that the superstars of their respective shows should be able to appear on the other's show. Vickie then introduces Jesse & Festus to Estrada. Estrada asks Vickie whats wrong with Festus’s face, but she ignores that question and both Jesse & Festus are told they have a match next.

Elijah Burke comes out along with Nunzio for the tag team bout. Burke looks dissapointed with teaming with a cruiserweight. Then comes out Jesse & Festus to a moderately decent reaction from the English crowd. Jesse gets the mic and says that he is excited to be on ECW, but even better, he is excited to compete in the UK.

Match 2: Jesse & Festus v. Burke & Nunzio
Festus begins the match with an early take down to Burke. Burke looks intiminated and tags in Nunzio. Jesse is tagged in and uses his speed to out-wrestle Nunzio. Jesse eventually gets cornered as he becomes the face in peril. Crowd chants for Festus. After a bit of reversals, Jesse manages to tag in Festus. Festus nails Nunzio with left and rights followed by a big boot. Burke, who is the illegal man, jumps off the top rope, but is elbowed in the jaw and leaves Nunzio alone in the ring. Festus tags in Jesse and hits a flying shoulderblock on Nunzio for the 3 count.

Match 3: Main Event: Miz v. Morrison

Match begins with Morrison going directly at the Miz with a tackle. He then strikes Miz’s abdomen with a few punches. Just as Miz tries to gain momentum, Morrison high round kicks Miz in the sternum. Morrison then places Miz on the turnbuckle and runs towards Miz, but only to crash into the turnbuckle. Miz now is in control. He throws a few punches and kicks, but once again is countered by Morrison with yet another kick to the head. Morrison place Miz up on the ropes and tries to nail a back suplex but is countered when Miz revereses the move and lands on top of Morrison.

Both men hurt and knocked down. Big V’s music hits and he is on his way to the ring. He slams the Miz down and gives Morrison a Samoan Drop. Big Daddy V holds up is ‘V for Victory’ sign as ECW comes to a close.

TNA Rumors: Sting to Retire

Sting has been telling people that he’s retiring at the end of this year.

Several within the company, though, believe he's just saying that to gain leverage and a possible raise from Dixie Carter. The TNA Wrestling President is intent on keeping Sting on the roster, despite Jff Jarrett not thinking highly of keeping Sting at the end of last year.

Moreover, Sting doesn’t work house shows or international dates.

Booker T Comments on Release

King Booker released the following statement, commenting on his release from WWE:

I would like to address any possible rumors or misinformation regarding our release from WWE. I had been unhappy for quite some time with the direction that the Company was going in. In fact, I asked for my release back in July for that very reason. However, after further contemplation, I decided to continue on with WWE because of my passion for this industry and my desire to entertain the fans.

Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent that my unhappiness with my work environment was beginning to take a great toll on other aspects of my life. I knew that it was time to make some extremely tough decisions.

Therefore, in the interest of my mental, physical, and spiritual well being, I along with my wife, asked for our release from World Wrestling Entertainment for the second time within months. We were graciously granted our release and we have since amicably parted ways. While the business relationship between ourselves and the WWE has ended, we will continue to be involved in Professional Wrestling. We hope that our loyal fans will follow us as we make this transition.

Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts, and we will see you soon!
