WWE Results: ECW, 10-30-07

The following report is courtesy of lordsofpain.net...

Match 1: Elijah Burke v. Jimmy Wang Yang
Match starts with an early headlock takedown by Burke as Wang manages to fight out of it and eventually sweeps Burke and nails a standing back moonsault. Burke gets back on the offensive and rams Yangs shoulder right in to the ring post knocking him to the outside. Burke then sends Yang to the ring steps and he appears to be in a great deal of pain. Burke tosses Yang back in the ring and signals for his outer limits elbow drop, but instead he drops his knee to Yang’s elbow joint. Ouch! Burke then applies a wristlock but Yang fights back.

ecw2.jpg However, Burke knees Yang in his lower abdomen and then proceeds to nail a modified shoulder-breaker. Burke looks to apply the wristlock again, but this time it is countered and Yang leg sweeps Burke. He then follows through with a few clotheslines. At this point, an awkward position occurs as Yang dropkicks Burke to the outside, but Yang seems to be hurt. Burke sees an opportunity to strike and goes up on top, but as he comes down, Yang back spin kicks Burke right in the jaw! WOW! Both men down. Yang is up first and tries to finish Burke off with his moonsault press, but Burke dodges it and sends Yang once more into the steel posts. Burke then signals for the Elijah Express and nails it. This bout is over as Burke celebrates.

Match 2: Halloween Costume Extreme Rules Match

The beginning of the match is dominated by Tommy Dreamer as he pounds on little Nunzio. However at one point, Nunzio manages to knock Dreamer out of the ring and then baseball slides Dreamer right into the announce table. Nunzio attempts a leap frog, but misses. Dreamer then breaks a plastic pumpkin on Nunzio’s back. He then proceeds to splatter a pie on Nunzio’s face. Nunzio kicks Dreamer hard and sends him to the steel steps. He grabs apples and begins chunking them towards Dreamer. He then gets the cream and tries to blind Dreamer with it, but Dreamer strikes at Nunzio with a punch and drowns him in the bucket of water filled with apples. Back in the ring, Dreamer whacks Nunzio with the bucket and puts Nunzio in the Tree of Woe position with the steel bucket in front of his head. Then Dreamer dropkicks the bucket which smashes on Nunzios face. Dreamer then spikes Nunzio with his DDT and the match is over.

Match 3: Miz v. Morrison
After some back and forth, Miz then nails a modified Face buster and quickly goes for the pin, but Morrison kicks out at 2. Miz places Morrison on the ropes and attempts to run towards Morrison, but Morrison finds an opportunity to kick Miz on his ribs as Miz took too much time trying to get on the offensive. As Miz is holding his ribs, Morrison nails his corkscrew neck-breaker for the win.
-Henry Promo airs. His malicious intent is his only desire.-

Match 4: CM Punk v. James Curtis (aka KC James)
Crowd is hot for CM Punk. Match begins with a few strikes from Curtis to Punk. Curtis then sets Punk near the turnbuckle and strikes Punks abdomens with his shoulder. Curtis goes back and attempts a hard clothesline, but Punk dodges it and nails his signature knee to the face which is followed by his leaping clothesline from the top rope. Punk nails the GTS and this match is over. Immediately following the match, Morrison rushes into the ring and attacks Punk maliciously. Morrison then hits another corkscrew neck-breaker and exits the ring staring back at Punk saying that next week he will regain his ECW title.

Match 5: Monster Mash Battle Royal (over the top rope)
All men are gathered in the ring and the three heels look at one another and decide to form an alliance to eliminate Kane. Kane somehow manages to dodge the three heels when they get near him. Frustrated, Big V asks Henry why he is too slow and isn’t doing anything right. There arguing leads the two to battle each other while Kane and Khali are going at it on the opposite side of the ring. Khali is in control of Kane while Big V and Henry are still going at it. It appears to be a stale mate between Big V and Henry. The two bounce off the ropes and tackles each other so hard that both men fall and are temporarily grounded.

Meanwhile, Khali big boots Kane and Khali is standing alone, but not for long as Henry gets up and lifts Khali up in the torture rack position. Kane uppercuts Henry and Henry releases Khali. Kane then focuses his attention on Big Daddy V. The two battle for quite some time and Big V is calling for the end of the match. He charges at Kane, who is on the turnbuckle, but Kane moves and big boots Big V, but just can’t get the behemoth over the top rope. Khali then assists Kane as the two double team Big V. They then choke Big V and Kane goes for a clotheline. Big Daddy V is eliminated and is furious. From behind, Khali applies his vice grip to Kane, but Henry helps. Not too long after, Khali applies the vice grip Henry. Kane then returns the favor as he works with Henry to double clothesline Khali out of the ring. Two men left in the ring. Kane and Henry stare each other down and the crowd cheers for Kane.

Minutes of back and forth action between the two occur, but in the end, Kane gets the upper hand after he delivers a big boot to Henry, but Henry does not fall! Kane decides goes up on top for his clothesline. He jumps but is caught in a belly to belly position. Henry manhandles Kane by throwing Kane over the top ropes as if Kane was a rag doll.

Survivor Series Main Event Set

It was announced during last night's WWE RAW that the main event for this year's Survivor Series would pit Shawn Michaels against Randy Orton for the WWE title.

As previously reported, Edge is also expected to make a return at this pay-per-view.

WWE Results: Monday Night RAW, 10-29-07

We begin with a WWE Diva Battle Royal, which quickly erupts into bedlam, as all the Divas attack each other. Layla is eliminated first, followed by Brooke. Michelle McCool eliminates Jillian, and is then eliminated herself.

wwe-divas.jpg Melina and Mickie eliminate each other, leaving Kelly Kelly, Victoria, and Torrie Wilson in the ring against each other. Tori knocks down Victoria (in sumo costume), and her and Kelly push her out of the ring. Finally, Torrie is knocked out by Kelly Kelly!
Winner: Kelly Kelly

HBK's music hits, and Shawn Michaels appears to quite an ovation! Shawn comes to the ring and, after pandering to the crowd a bit, he grabs a mic. He thanks everyone who voted for him into the match at Cyber Sunday, and says he's got good news and bad news. The good news is that once again, he knocked Randy Orton out cold with some Sweet Chin Music. The Bad news is that he doesn't have the WWE championship. He says Orton intentionally got himself disqualified last night, and since he won the match, he gets a rematch... which he wants RIGHT NOW.

Vince McMahon's music hits, and the Chairman struts down to the ring. VKM asks how many people want to see a rematch. Everyone cheers a resounding "Yes." Vince asks Shawn what he's doing... that there's something else Shawn wants more than the WWE Championship: revenge. Vince has known Shawn since he was 23 years old, and deep down, there's a part of his soul that's rotten, and there's not a thing Shawn can do about it. Shawn admits it. He sat home for four months, leaving the industry for the second time. He says the next time he leaves, it will be on his terms. Randy tried to change that, and he can't have that.

HBK wants to take out Randy, and asks if he can have his rematch or not. Vince says that Survivor Series is an aptly named PPV, and Shawn's got his rematch. But, what will he do about it? Shawn throws a superkick to Vince, but intentionally misses, having Vince cower and get out of the ring.

Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes v. WGTT

Holly starts off against Shelton, with Benjamin getting the advantage early. Shelton tags in Haas, who punishes Holly in the cornerwith some punches. Holly tries to make a comeback, but Haas beats him with a waistlock, putting him on the ground. After quick tags, Haas is back in, but gets caught with a dropkick by Holly. Holly tags in in Cody who hits a shoulderblock off the top ropes, and a dropkick for a 1 count. Cody hits a powerslam on Haas, but Shelton breaks up the pin. Holly rushes in and knocks Shelton out of the ring, and the two begin to brawl outside of the ring. Cody hits Haas with a DDT, and gets the win!
Winners: Holly and Rhodes

We get an update on Candice Michelle. Apparently she broke her clavicle in two places, but will be back in a few weeks.

Coach v. Hornswoggle

Before the match starts, we get the announcement that there is a special guest referee: Mick Foley. The Hardcore Legend gets quite an ovation, and Hornswoggle hugs his leg. Coach looks confused.

Coach tries to run at Hornswoggle, but Foley stops him and says something to him. Then, Foley says to go ahead. Coach gets Hornswoggle into the corner and pushes him around, but Hornswoggle steps on his foot and then dropkicks his leg. Hornswoggle mounts Coach and rides him like a donkey. Coach gets back up and lifts Horswoggle, but is bitten in the ear. Coach drops the little guy and is dropkicked again. Hornswoggle covers, but Coach easily kicks out on a one count. Hornswoggle climbs the bottom rope and tries for an elbow drop, but Coach moves. Coach now has the advantage. Foley stops him from capitalizing, and Coach hits Foley from behind. Coach now climbs outside and grabs a chair. He gets back in and attempts to hit Hornswoggle, but Foley is now up and takes the chair from Coach. Foley knocks Coach down and pulls out a sock for Mr. Socko, but then pulls out a smaller one and gives it to Hornswoggle. Hornswoggle puts in on, and Coach is up. Foley looks to hit Coach, to which Coach turns into a Mandible Claw from Hornswoggle...on his crotch. Coach is in pain, and Foley gives a clothesline. Hornswoggle now mounts the TOP rope and hits a frog splash for the win.
Winner: Hornswoggle

Paul London v. Lance Cade
London up early, dodging everything Cade threw at him, and hitting a crossbody. Cade finally grabs London and hits a belly to back suplex, getting a 2 count. Cade starts working on London with blows to the back. London counters with a standing hurricanrana, but is quickly thrown out of the ring. Murdoch nearly interferes, but Kendrick comes in, goes outside, and hits a splash to the outside. Inside of the ring, London goes for a sunset flip over the ropes, but gets only a 2 count. Cade then hits a sit-down spinebuster for the win.
Winner: Lance Cade

WWE RAW Preview: 10-29-07

Here's the official preview for tonight's Monday Night Raw...

Viewers worldwide saw Randy Orton retain his WWE Championship against your chosen Cyber Sunday challenger, Shawn Michaels, through a devious – or desperate – low-blow disqualification. But for his trouble, the crafty Legend Killer also got a dose of Sweet Chin Music for the fourth straight week.

How will HBK react to his unsatisfying victory at Cyber Sunday, and will Orton seek retribution?

After a brutal Street Fight at Cyber Sunday, Triple H showed mettle with metal in defeating the Samoan Bulldozer, Umaga. Will the beast or his backer, Mr. McMahon, be looking to even the score with The Cerebral Assassin?

With Halloween approaching, Mickie James won the costume contest at Cyber Sunday. But will she come out on top as the Divas face off in a ghoulish Halloween Costume Battle Royal on Raw?

And speaking of WWE Divas, the 2007 WWE Diva Search will come to an end as either Brooke or Eve will emerge as the new WWE Diva. Who will you pick? Catch Raw Monday night and find out.

And after Hardcore Holly’s rescue of Cody Rhodes last week during a 2-on-1 assault by the Self-Proclaimed World’s Greatest Tag Team, what will transpire between the rough ring veteran and the son of the “American Dream”? Are these two developing a sense of mutual respect?

WWE Results: Cyber Sunday, 10-28-07

cyber-sunday.jpg - Rey Mysterio defeated Finlay in a Stretcher Match. This stipulation got 40% of the vote to the Shillelagh on a Pole Match and the No DQ Match. Fans in Washington, D.C. were really behind Mysterio and Finlay got some great heel heat. The object here is to put your opponent on the stretcher and push him to the finish line. A shillelagh ended up getting involved in the match with Finlay using it on Mysterio. The finish saw Mysterio hit the 619 on Finlay knocking him onto the stretcher at ringside followed by a big flip dive on Finlay over the stretcher. As Mysterio was wheeling Finlay to the finish line, the stretcher got caught on some cable cord. Looks like both improvised big time at this point as Finlay got off the stretcher, but got knocked back on it and Mysterio wheeeled him to the finish to get the win.

- CM Punk defeated The Miz to retain the ECW Championship. The Miz won 39% of the vote. Gotta say this was a big shock here. Lots of ground wrestling early on between the two, which might have been an indicator that they didn't think the voting was going to go this way at all. Fans in Washington, D.C. where chanting "YOU CAN'T WRESTLE" at The Miz. Despite the fan reaction, the match wasn't all that bad. CM Punk hit a quick bulldog on Miz that resulted in a two count. The finish saw Punk get the win with the Go To Sleep to retain the title.

- Backstage, Mickie James was shown wearing a Native American costume, while Torrie Wilson was wearing a Washington Redskins jersey.

- Mr. Kennedy defeated WWE Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy in a Non-Title Bonus Match. Hardy sent Kennedy to the floor early on in the match, with Hardy taking out Kennedy by leaping over the top rope. Hardy took out Kennedy with a quick huricanranna back in the ring. Kennedy blocked a Twist of Fate attempt only to get the Whisper in the Wind. The finish, which went down rather quickly, saw Hardy miss a dropkick and hit his head on the mat allowing Kennedy to cover for the quick pinfall.

- Backstage, Michelle McCool is dressed as Eve, while Melina is dressed like a Las Vegas showgirl.

- Kane defeated WWE U.S. Champion MVP via countout - MVP retains the U.S. Title. The match started with MVP avoiding Kane early on. Kane sent MVP into the ring post and started working on his ribs. Kane continued to work on his ribs with numerous punches, knees and kicks. The finish saw MVP simply roll out and fall to the floor and accept the countout finish.

- Shawn Michaels defeated WWE Champion Randy Orton via DQ; Orton retains the WWE Title. Early on, Orton caught HBK with a big uppercut. They started exchaning blows in the ring until Orton took HBK down and started working on his left elbow that was taped up. HBK got a close pinfall after after counting a back drop attempt by Orton. Orton then got in a series of offense on HBK with a quick backbreaker. HBK responded with an flying elbow off the top, but Orton moved. HBK countered an RKO attempt by Orton into a close backslide pin. HBK finally connected with the flying elbow. HBK started to tune up the band as the fans got behind him. The finish saw HBK go for the Sweet Chin Music, but Orton ducked and low blowed HBK to cause the DQ. After the match, Orton looked to kick HBK in the head to put him out of action again until HBK jumped up to his feet and connected with the Sweet Chin Music on Orton.

Bret Hart Comments on Drug Use in WWE

In his new book, Hitman: My Real Life In The Cartoon World Of Wrestling, Bret Hart makes the following statement regarding his drug use in WWE:

When I was working for my Dad, I didn't have to poison my body, I didn't need it. But when I got to the WWF (World Wrestling Federation), everyone was doing it. And Dynamite and Davey Boy were making three to four times the money I was. If I didn't take them, I wouldn't have a career.

Chris Jericho Hints on WWE Return

In an interview with The Long Island Press, Chris Jericho recently had the following to say when asked about his WWE return:

You know, I can honestly say that I don't know for sure when, but I will tell you as well that even if I did I'm a magician. I keep my secrets and my tricks to myself, and I like that. I think it's one of the things I've always enjoyed about wrestling.

And once again, going back to the way I was when I was a fan, I don't think it's fair or good for fans to know everything. And as much as it's great to have technology and it's cool that people know [more], I think it's also cool when people don't know, and that's something I've worked very hard to make sure that...it's still good to be surprised.

And I think that everyone will agree with me that in a day and age where people know things before they happen, I don't think that anyone is going to know my story until it happens. And I think people in a vacuum would rather have it that way.
