ECW Spoilers: Results From ECW on Sci-Fi to Air Saturday Night

The following report is courtesy of lordsofpain.net ...

Tazz and Joey Styles are introduced. We start off with a video package of Lashley/Big Show from last week and here we go with the ECW on Sci-Fi intro. Tonight's main event will be Bobby Lashley vs. Heyman's Enforcers.

Test v. RVD

Rob Van Dam vs. Test
Match wasn't spectacular, but both got to hit most of their spots. RVD goes for the Five Star Frog Splash, but Test moves out of the way. Test picks up RVD for a powerbomb, but it gets countered into a sunset flip attempt. Test botches the spot and grabs the top rope in front of the ref. Test lets the rope go and the ref turns his attention to the mat while he grabs the middle rope. Test with the pinfall victory.
Winner: Test

Matt Striker comes out talking about the history of Boston and then proceeds to run the town down. Good stuff. Got some odd stares from little kids for yelling out that I agree with Striker and that Boston sucks. Fun playing a heel at these events. Striker talks about how Boston's athletes are no good with balls. This leads to him calling out Balls Mahoney who graces us with his presence. Striker makes comparisons between Balls and Boston. After Balls had enough, he starts to beat on Striker with his signature punches with the crowd chanting. Striker actually kicks him in the balls when he was winding up and hopes he's not feeling blue.

CM Punk vs. Hardcore Holly
Sadly, the reaction for Punk wasn't that great. There were chants here and there, but nothing like the crowds in other towns. This was a fairly short match with Punk hitting most of his spots. The end came when Holly kept beating down Punk in the corner going over the 5 count. Punk wins by DQ.
Winner by DQ: CM Punk

Holly argues with the referee over the decision and is about to go back to giving him a beating, but Punk comes back putting Holly on the ground locking in the Anaconda Vice.

Tommy Dreamer vs. Daivari w/The Great Khali
Very short match with Dreamer hitting a DDT after Khali hit him in the back from the outside out of no where on Daivari for the win.
Winner: Tommy Dreamer

Dreamer rolled to the outside only to be met by Khali who gives him a choke bomb on the onto the mat outside the ring.

Elijah Burke along with Sylvester Terkay cut a promo about how they're the greatest fighting duo. Looks like the team will be called the Tap Out Knock Out Connection.

Bobby Lashley vs. Paul Heyman's Special Enforcers
Pretty much what you would expect. Lashley used power moves. The end came when he hit one of the enforcers with the spear and a dominator for the win. The other enforcer tried to come back in, but also got a spear and dominator.
Winner: Bobby Lashley

Jim Ross appeared on 97.1 FM in Detroit on Thursday to talk wrestling. Ross will be appearing on the radio station every Thursday to promote WrestleMania 23. Here are some highlights from his appearance:

- On Triple H, Ross said he is unfairly criticized by the internet from people who don't know him.

TNA Wrestling News/Notes: Tension with Kurt Angle, Vince Russo Update

  • Homicide was apparently very upset with Kurt Angle for popping his ear during their match on iMPACT last week. He was so angry at the time that he wanted to fight Angle right there for real, but kept himself under control.
  • Since joining the company, Vince Russo has been writing twice as much material for TNA Wrestling as the previous booking team.
  • Due to legal reasons, TNA is using the names Paul Levesque and Michael Hickenbottom instead of Triple H and Shawn Michaels. They can, however, use Vince McMahon’s name because it’s a real name, not a trademark.

Trish Stratus News: Ready for Reality Show

So it's Trish Stratus in a uniform, with handcuffs?!? We'll be watching.

The Houston Chronicle Profiles King Booker

Recently, Ric Flair was profiled by The Baltimore Sun.

Now, The Houstin Chronicle has ran a story about hometown star, King Booker. Here it is:
King Booker Profile
They didn't have this category when Booker T. Huffman graduated from Jack Yates High School, but Huffman would have been voted ''Least Likely to Kick Anybody's Butt."

''I was a scrawny kid, barely 150 pounds, and I didn't play any sports. I was a drum major in the band. What I really wanted to do is be an entertainer," Huffman said.

He's entertaining millions of fans now, in addition to kicking some booty, as King Booker, a 250-pound muscle-bound, rule-breaking superstar in World Wrestling Entertainment.

Huffman mostly wrestled under the names Harlem Heat and Booker T during his 16-year career in WCW and WWE. Earlier this year he created the character King Booker, an English dandy (from Houston's Fifth Ward), complete with crown, cape, scepter - and very ridiculous British accent.

"The King Booker character was actually my wife, Sharmell's, idea," Huffman said. ''She was Miss Black America, so she's used to that world of wearing tiaras and crowns. This is my most successful character because it allows me to show off my acting ability."

King Booker has the slowest and funniest stage entrance in wrestling history. As he moves toward the ring, greeting his subjects with a royal wave and a fake tear in his eye, the announcer bellows, ''All hail King Booker!" over and over. And over and over.

''My record is seven minutes to get to the ring and 54 'All hail King Bookers.' The ring announcers hate having to do that," Huffman laughed. "But it's great because it gets the crowd into my character. Those boos are music to my ears."

TNA Wrestling: BG James Talks About Voodoo Kin Mafia, WWE

BG James was interviewed for TNA Wrestling's monthly media conference call yesterday. While promoting the upcoming Turning Point PPV, he also discussed the Voodoo Kin Mafia v.s DX/WWE angle. Wrestlemag.com had the summary:

BG JamesOn the VKM “Invasion": James admitted there’s a nostalgic aspect to it. He said he thought the VKM segments on iMPACT made for entertaining TV, but also said that he doesn’t get the same feeling he did when he was in the WWE and DX did the WCW invasion. The subject of VKM at a recent WWE house show was brought up, with James saying if they bought a ticket they could sit “anywhere we choose to go,” and that WWE were powerless to stop them.

On how VKM can keep the angle going, James said he had no idea what was next. He said the idea had been pitched of VKM appearing on RAW to work with DX (like that’s going to happen), but also said he doesn’t want to fight either Triple H or Shawn Michaels and that what they were doing is just to create interest in wrestling and that it’s entertainment.

On legal problems with WWE: James said that WWE’s legal department have contacted TNA Wrestling on a few occasions about the gimmick. James said that was the point - to get a response and to get at them - and the fact Jim Ross publically commented on TNA and VKM showed that it had worked. James also said that he’d love to work a match with WWE talent, and if egos were out of the way, they could headline a PPV that the fans would get into.

Challenging The Hardy Boyz at December to Dismember: James knew they wouldn’t get a response from WWE, and again commented on how if ego and business was put aside that them working with WWE talent would be “awesome … for the wrestling fans.”

On how the VKM name was born: He said the idea pitched by TNA was “Very Kool Men,” but BG sat down with his son and thought of cool words beginning with the letter V. They decided on Voodoo, and the “Kin” came about as BG and Kip James are supposed to be brothers.

On former DX members joining VKM: There was talk of Sean Waltman joining at one point, but no talks with Joanie Laurer had been considered. BG also joked that there was talk of Kevin Nash coming in as they needed a younger guy.

Paul Heyman in TNA: James said that TNA has a good business sense, but it’s a “Southern, redneck style of doing things.” He went on to say he didn’t know whether Paul Heyman would be well received by the locker room.

On Triple H: James admitted his feelings towards Hunter had changed since he and Kip did a shoot interview hitting out at him. James said he owes an apology but wasn’t sure if he’d ever give it to him.

On TNA’s tag team division: He put over the teams in TNA, and said that WWE doesn’t have a tag team division at all. He joked that whoever is in charge in WWE should be fired.
