WWE News: What did K-Fed Earn for RAW Appearances?

Reportedly, Kevin Federline was only supposed to appear on RAW one time, but enjoyed himself so much he asked for a second appearnace.

K-Fed was paid $15,000 by the WWE for each night of work. Which sounds like a lot. But when your wife is worth $20 million, it's really more like pocket change in that family.

The Wrestling Matt, Vol. III

MattGreetings, wrestling fans. Welcome to The Wrestling Matt, one man’s take on the latest story lines and backstage TNA/WWE rumors.

What would I like to see tagged in for further development? What should be tapped out immediately before it gets even worse? Let’s find out. On to the column ...

Tag Out: Kurt Angle bashing the WWE. How does this make sense for his debut in TNA? If you're a WWE fan, you don't wish to see that company insulted; if you're a TNA fan, you're already watching that brand. No wonder ratings for Angle's first iMpact shows weren't very high. TNA wrestling will never succeed if it continues to reference its superior competition.

Tag Out: Cyber Sunday. I'm all for fan involvement - but does anyone buy the legitimacy of the voting process? Vince will book the show however he wants to book the show. Don't mislead fans into thinking that have a say in how events are run.

Cryme Tyme Tag In: Cryme Tyme. The gimmick isn't really racist, but that's not even the point. It's just nice to see an actual tag team with an actual name. I miss the days of The Bushwhackers, Demolition, British Bulldogs, etc.

Tag In: John Cena. Boo him if you want, but has anyone else been so consistent over the course of the year? The guy puts on entertaining matches, has mic skills and knows how to get a crowd reaction. Even The Marine wasn't THAT bad.

Thank you for reading. If you'd like to write a column, email me at: matt@thewrestlingpost.com.

Impressive Debut for Eric Bischoff Book

Say what you want about the WWE, but one thing is for sure: it's a great place to garner publicity for your book. Mick Foley used the platform to help his first published work climb all the way to number-one on the NY Times Best Seller List.

Now, Eric Bischoff appears to be the next successful wrestling author. On November 5, Controversy Creates Cash will debut on the same newspaper's non-fiction best seller list at number-16.

This makes it the highest ranked WWE book since Ric Flair: To Be The Man in summer 2004.

WWE Photos: Batista on Smallville

Superman has nothing on Batista.

As reported earlier this summer, Batista will be making a cameo on the hit show, Smallville. Here are a couple exclusive shots featuring the WWE superstar on set:

WWE Spoilers: Smackdown Wrestler Injured at Tapings

Once again, we won't reveal any results from the tapings of Smackdown this week. But we can report on an injured superstar.

David Taylor was hurt at this week's tapings. Reports indicate that Taylor tore his meniscus in his left knee and is scheduled for surgery this Friday.

Not familiar with Taylor? He's a veteran of British and German federatioms, having made his WWE TV debut last week as William Regal’s tag team partner. He had previously worked with Regal in WCW as a member of the Blue Bloods.

ECW, WWE News/Notes: RVD Lashes Out, Smackdown Rating Comes In

  • Rob Van Dam has posted the following message on his official website, regarding criticism of the new ECW brand:

"If anyone's been missing ECW TV lately, that's your loss. If you were a fan of the old ECW, and didn't want to put this new idea over, change your mind. We all had to make some adjustments and ECW has been developing and right now it's something I'm damn proud to be a part of."

  • This past Friday’s edition of Smackdown ended up doing a 2.3 cable rating with a 4.1 share. It's one of the best scores for the show in weeks.

WWE Spoilers: The Boogeyman Returns to Smackdown!

We won't run any results from this week's Smackdown until the show airs Friday night, but figured we'd let fans know that The Boogeyman re-appeared at last night's tapings.

The wrester was released and then re-signed (for some reason) by WWE management a few weeks ago.

WWE RAW Rating Falls Again

Even Kevin Federline can't save the WWE from poor ratings, apparently.

Mr. Britney Spears appeared again this week, but RAW only pulled in a 3.6 rating. It was the thid consecutive decrease for the program since the Family Reunion season premiere.

CM Punk, Ghost Hunter, to Host Halloween Special

Tune in to the Sci-Fi Channel on October 31, between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. and you won't be seeing CM Punk wrestle. At least not with human beings.

The ECW star will co-host a show called "Ghost Hunters." He'll be investigating the supposedly haunted Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado. It's the same location where Stephen King based The Shining and the program will air live.
