WWE Rumor: Big Smackdown Star on Way Out

Sadly, it's not The Miz.

According to this week’s edition of The Wrestling Observer, Dave Meltzer is reporting that John “Bradshaw” Layfield will be leaving the WWE in just a couple of weeks. apparently, JBL recently handed in his notice to WWE management and the October 6 edition of Smackdown! will be his last appearance on the show.

JBL, of course, has been just an accouncer for months now, but he's doing very well for himself away from the WWE arena as an investment banker. He wants to focus on that career.

There's no word yet on who would replace JBL next to Michael Cole as an announcer - but we'll let you know as soon as we learn more.
