John Cena Talks About Working Out, FLEX Magazine ... and Edge Sucking

John Cena is a busy man. He's trying to recapture his WWE title from Edge, preparing for Unforgiven on September 17, publicizing his movie, The Marine and, as always, working out like a mad man.

As a result of the latter, Cena will adorn the November cover of FLEX magazine. He recently talked to WWE.com about the honor.

John Cena Flexes

“We are here today at Gold’s Gym for a FLEX magazine cover shoot, which believe it or not, is a teen/childhood dream of mine,” Cena said. “It’s an honor and privilege.

A group of about 20 people followed the RAW superstar around Gold’s Gym in Manhattan’s Times Square recently, including a WWE.com crew, FLEX magazine reporter Allan Donnelly and freelance photographer Ian Spanier.

Three Others Join Layla El as New WWE Divas

Apparently, you don't need to actually win a contest to be named a WWE Diva.

While Layla El won the Diva Search, she'll be joined in the WWE's Ohio Valley Wrestling territory by 8th place finisher Amy Zidian, 7th place finisher Maryse Ouellet and 4th place finisher Milena Roucka.

Maryse and Milena, along with Jen England, were considered near locks for WWE deal. Amy was more of a surprise. Will any of them end up with a career as successful as Torrie Wilson?

Perhaps. But none look like that diva does.

Vince McMahon and His Ego Aim to Motivate

Love Vince McMahon or hate him, you can't deny that his record-breaking ego has helped him succeed in life. Okay, except for that whole XFL thing.

The chairman of the WWE has released a set of motivational posters, meant to inspire others that are naturally full of themselves. We snagged a copy of one:

Ouch! Kurt Angle Suffers Groin Tear

Hurry Back, KurtIt's looking more and more that fans won't have a chance to see the world's best wrestler in the ring for quite awhile. Reports state that Kurt Angle has suffered a groin tear, an injury more serious that previously believed.

Angle was scheduled to be involved in the Sabu vs Big Show match at SummerSlam making it a three-way affair for the ECW Title - but WWE decided to keep him out due to the groin.

From there, Angle was scheduled to work a squash match at the ECW house show on Monday night in Altoona, PA but was again pulled from the show.

For now, there are no plans for Angle to return. We'll keep you updated when this changes.

Another Solid Ratings Week for ECW

People seem to be enjoying this WWE-inspired ECW. This week's show once again posted a strong atings number for the Sci-Fi channel, a 2.3/4 Tuesday night.

Akin to last week, the show's overall rating greatly benefitted from high viewership at the onset. In an uncommon occurrence for a WWE show, the first quarter hour exceeded the show's overall rating, posting a 2.4.

Sabu Goes Extreme on Big Show: ECW Results, 8-22-06

The following report is courtest of lordsofpain.net ...

Extreme Bikini Contest: Torrie Wilson vs. Kelly Kelly
Torrie comes out first in a red robe. Kelly follows in a blue robe. Both ladies look tremendous. Torrie goes first and she reveals a two piece silver sequence looking absolutely stunning. Kelly is up next and before she can take her robe off Mike Knox and Test run down and cover her up. Sandman's music hits and he and Tommy Dreamer run down as Test and Knox bail. Sandman says us three vs. you three right here and right now.

6 Person Mixed Tag Team Match: Test, Mike Knox, and Kelly Kelly vs. The Sandman, Tommy Dreamer, and Torrie Wilson
Torrie grabs Kelly and brings her in the ring. Torrie nails some kicks in the corner and pulls up her bikini into a thong and gives Kelly a stinkface. The girls tag out and Dreamer and Test tag in. Test dominates with two back breakers and a side slam for two. Outside the ring Test sends Dreamer spine first into the ring post. Back in the ring Test and Knox double irish whip Dreamer hard. Test applies a bear hug but Dreamer counters with a neck breaker.

He tags Sandman who cleans house and nails the white russian leg sweep on Test followed by a senton splash off the top rope to Knox! He covers but Test pulls him out the ring but Sandman counters and throws Test face first into the ring post. Knox comes back and goes for a leg drop but Sandman moves and tags in Dreamer who nails a huge DDT for the win.
Winners: Torrie Wilson, Tommy Dreamer, and The Sandman

Backstage Paul Heyman tries to talk out The Big Show to not face Sabu again tonight. Show says he's got this and says Sabu can't use any weapons tonight during his match and that Show is a walking weapon.

Backstage Matt Striker says he is your new teacher in ECW. He says brawn works only some of the time but brains work all the time. He says he's bringing brains to ECW.
Balls Mahoney
Match 2: Extreme Rules Match: Kevin Thorne with Ariel vs. Balls Mahoney
It's pretty much a back and forth contest but outside the ring Balls throws Thorne face first into the announce table and throws water in his face. In the ring Thorne nails a clothesline. Thorne takes his walking stick and shoves it throat first into Balls and then hits him with the stick numerous times.

Mahoney nails a spinebuster for two. Mahoney grabs for a chair but Ariel bites his leg and Thorne kicks the chair right into Mahoney's face and places him on the ropes and delivers a modified stunner for the win.
Winner: Kevin Thorne

Match 3: CM Punk vs. Christopher W. Anderson
After back and forth mat work and arm locks Anderson nails a huge left hand to Punk. He throws Punk shoulder first into the turnbuckle. Punk counters and does a neat submission on the ropes kinda like the tarantula but much cooler. Anderson nails a spinebuster for two. CM comes back and nails a huge knee to Anderson's face and follows with a bulldog. Punk roundhouse kicks Anderson and then nails the uranagi. CM applies the Anaconda vice and Anderson submits.
Winner: CM Punk by submission

Post-SummerSlam Raw Rating is In

Eh.

That's probably Vince McMahon's response after seeing the ratings for this week's RAW. We're sure the chairman was hoping for a big boost following SummerSlam, but a 4.1 cable rating with a 6.3 share certainly isn't bad.

It's basically the same as last week's numbers, which showed 4.1 rating with a 6.5 share. The hour by hour break down this time a 3.9 the first hour and 4.2 the second hour.

Next All ECW Pay-Per-View Planned

For the first time since One Night Stand in June, ECW will host its own pay-per-view event in a couple months.

Prepare yourself, fans, for a December To Dismember. It will be held on December 3 at the Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center in Augusta, Georgia. Die hards will recall that this will be the second-ever ECW PPV in Georgia, after 1998’s WrestlePalooza.

It's obviously way too early to have any spoilers for the event or any idea about what will be on the card. But it says here The Big Show will still be champion and Sabu will defeat him for the title in the main event.

Triple H to Lilian Garcia: Lose the Shirt!

Lilian has Nice Vocal Chords We're certainly glad fatherhood hasn't mellowed Triple H one bit. The fans attending this week's RAW probably agree.

After the television portion of that show went off the air - and DX had once again gotten the best of the McMahons - Triple H asked thd crowd if they wanted to see Lilian Garcia topless. Shockingly, they applauded in approval!

Our favorite ring announcer was hesitant at first ... but then she lifted her top and flashed those in attendence.

If you were there and got a picture, please send it along. Those are puppies we wouldn't mind taking a close look at.
